I am suspicious of this Mac guy for now, because of the way he entered this day phase. He either knows something or he plays with us. I see it as a not wisemove to list yourself as town, that way he might approach us to trust him, but the nr 1 rule is not to trust anyone. I would vote off someone like him, so I expect him to tell us why he lists himself as town and this while we have no information.

The thing with saying "I am town" is so baseless, because at this point of the game we have no invest results, which means that scum could also say "I am town". So I am not used to it, If someone is town he should stand up and make a real play.

We have 5 people that have a +1 vote on themselves, due to lackluster useage of mechanics, and who is giving us the guarantee of them being town when everyone could have been in their position even wolves.

I don't know much about him as a player so I may have initially given him a bit too much credit just for high volume of participation. I think something fishy might have gone down with the counterwagons at the end there but again I'll have to reread to figure out what the dynamics were.

Interesting. Pretty big advantage for town to still allow town to hunt scums thoroughly and call them out and the latter faction never gets a break.

I actually think that closed NPs are more an advantage to scum than open NPs are an advantage for town. Scum can still participate in night discussion and influence everything happening in the thread, whereas it's the only resource town would have at night. I strongly believe that the locked NP rule is part of why the championship games have been such scumsweeps so far (tbf I've stopped following them and am not sure if that's still happening beyond games 1 and 2) and it was also a pretty significant factor in scum winning the scrimmage.

I've given my opinion about why Mac names those names so it's probably best if others tell you what they see (it would be best if Mac explained himself but he is in a time zone where he is asleep during our daylight hours and probably will not get here until late this afternoon). I will also say that a lot of times when I see people give a list of who they think is good they include themselves, which makes no sense to me but I wanted to alert you that happens regularly on this site. Anyway, hopefully others will arrive soon and we can continue this discussion and get other discussions going as well.

thanks Juliet, I didn't knew people do it, for me it's an obvious thing that you should keep for yourself because with my current expertise such statements can cause a distraction (like now for me lol). doesn't change the fact that mac claims them all to be town (those guys with an extra vote on them). As noone spills information about it, we gotta have to test our luck this DP, I will be online for 3 more hours from now on. Hope something happens where I can investigate my reads into.

The way I view it is that a mafia trying to keep their options open to jump on a possible mislynch that could form without having to do much pushing or tunneling. Of course they'd put a buddy who is being incriminated in the DP in that list, but that's just for distancing.

I've actually done it myself a lot of times as mafia thinking about it now.

And Creature being so hasty to dismiss it isn't a good look either.

Already been resolved doesn't change how bad it was. The meta or reasoning for what Mac did is irrelevant to what I'm talking about. Yes, it's similar to I/G so you know him saying I am town means nothing so why in Jesus were you trying to make it a big deal.

About claiming oneself town:
Okay you got me but your reasoning is totally shit. You should have went after me like this: No role-claiming is allowed, which means invest roles can't tell us their results and won't be able to discuss them. It is my bad I realized it later on, but actually saying oneself is town is only profitting a lie detector and seriously I played over 20 mafia games or so and saw the lie detector only once in a one-shot version. So at this point it is not rly my fault, maybe one of my reasonings against mac wasn't that perfect, but dude I achieved my goal. I contributed, other people also went for it. I don't have to justify myself more. I saw you reference a salad quote and went back to find it. I understood the sabie and indiglo (not as much) ones, but the other 2 baffled me. I mean, I guess MacDougall was kind of absent in the sense that indi was too, but then why not just include all people who were pretty absent for D0 and D1? Sokoth still feels weird to me, since I'm reading him neutrally right now.

I don't know much about him as a player so I may have initially given him a bit too much credit just for high volume of participation. I think something fishy might have gone down with the counterwagons at the end there but again I'll have to reread to figure out what the dynamics were.

If you're busy that's fine if you don't make a good Day 1 vote. How she addressed it though is why I think her excuse is possibly BS.

Dude he claimed himself and the others town without a guarantee. Going into DP like "I am civilian, everyone have a nice game." is totally fine. But he came with a list and other players name. I had multiple reasons like not having the case of a person going invisible once that person enters the DP. It is quite townish from my side to keep discussion up without an agressive push.

I was trying to understand his method. I look at someone who just drops a vote on someone with high suspicion when they don't explain it. It looks like a fishing expedition but clearly they have a reason. OR at least I think they should. I guess the way I play is more deliberate, I only vote when I feel I'm certain. With the exception of day 1 and 2, because were still feeling things out.

Also, you have to ask questions to get a response in order to get a read. Or you can just lurk in the background and hope your questions are answered by someone else stepping up to cause a ruckus.

While I'm sure there are differences in mechanics between sites I feel like this kind of shines a light that you know more about the game than your trying to portray.

Dragon came in like a wrecking ball a couple of times. I mean his first post in the game right of the gate was to vote for Rej. (You two got a bone to pick with one another?) but without any context. But then played it off in his next vote for Rej. But hardly any activity before this? You made no case, you didn't ask questions. Just bam, voted rej. Not going to quote that ball of mess that was your back and forth with him, but you finally came out and started giving reasons but you slammed him hard for semi-trivial posts. I get that he's new, and could be using that as a crutch against us. But I feel like this is an axe to grind and maybe not even a legit game mechanic. I feel like your posts went literally no where, just posturing and name calling. And then they just ended. Abruptly.

You both were pretty silent early on in the game for whatever reason, and then Bam the conversation to end all conversations. So I feel like all of that was either for our benefit in some way, you two teaming up to try and make yourself look good as bad people, or Rej is playing "New" while he's not and or he is actually new and was caught off guard and put back on his heels and went hard into that conversation out of a misguided attempt to defend himself and got baited or your both Townies just posturing I'm really confused by this conversation because there was a lot of other themes brought into it.

I don't have a full opinion just yet, but it certainly makes me curious about the two of you. I don't really know the two of you or your play style with only 4 games under my belt now.

Hello to my defense: I only played on ONE forum right now, while I know Dragomir and Oreki and others (Juliet and more) do play on multiple platforms. I went into this forum with the promise of meeting experienced and crazy players having next level plays etc. That's why I consider myself "new" even tho I am experienced. I also stated it that I have already some experience. I play mafia totally for...some months I dont know, maybe 3 maybe 4. So yeah...that's all, I just try to make next level plays (what I consider myself next level play), go into depth and find stuff out etc.
Me vs Drago was just because of comfort, I was a comfortable target for Drago, he almost knew how I would react when he nitpicks me and our discussion faded off because as I understand it, it's not healthy to focus way too much on it, so glad you are here and objectively add your opinion to it.

I still can't trust Mac and Drago this game. But at this point my assumption is correct or am I paranoid?
