Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 1]
I'm here and aware that the game has started. Day ends in about 12 hours it seems, and I'll be able to read through and write words by then. This game has mostly players I'm familiar with in it, so that's cool. Hi hi hi^^

Totally forgot about the game. With 2-3 hours I should be able to catch up before night. Sorry for the non-activety. My vote isn’t really cast yet.

Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 1]
Pages 1-4
Do you like playing as mafia?
Am I to understand your yearning for me as a sign of you as town? I like the idea, at least. Also, it seems this game could've benefited from a Dizzy that could not shut up rather than the lack of one.
---
So far, I think I buy Jimmeeey being all tired and a bit sour, but like, what does it do though? I'm here, Jimmey, don't give up.
The only ones that I was like mmmmh is Choutas and Nova. Not sure about Eloh. Everything else neutral. Feel alright about Jimmeeey, MP, Kyle (following others maybe) and lapluie (I probably messed that name up, and this last read is from other stuff I've seen in thread as well).
ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 12:42 am Haven’t played with Dyslexicon or TheFloyd yet. Who are y’all?
Only game start that felt awkward to me was your's, actually.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 5:10 amWhat do you mean? I'm not following.
I was prodding him with that question since the post pinged me. It felt awkward and forced.
I like loose and funny check-in posts. His felt weird. Like he had it pre-made or he didn't know what to say and just wrote 'check in post'. I like to pay attention to openers since I believe that's a very awkward phase of the game for baddies. There is no flow or pace to the game at that moment.
Do you like playing as mafia?
I know someone else asked, but like, there's mostly nothing and nothing. You later said speculation, and well, welcome to mafia. : p
And...?
Aw, now I feel bad for arriving fashinably late. I didn't realize this game started so soon, and then I kind of forgot about it, cause I had stuff to do today. But I'm here just in the nick of time, so that I can create a hot potato on Nova and all will be well.^^
Did I start a trend? (Say "yes", no matter what the truth is).

I wanted to join a wagon, and especially your's since I love you so much, and then you could all gossip about it. You should know this. Don't you think you should know this?

What are your reads, hopes and dreams? At this point in the game you're reading more like a side commentator to me. And I've seen scum act that way before. I'm pointing fingers at you.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 10:26 pm Maybe I used policy lynch incorrectly there, but it sounds like you're saying we should lynch people who haven't contributed at all as a Day 1 rule, Charlie.
Benefits would be not losing voices in a game that's having a tough time taking off and also, of course, there's nothing stopping a scum from just lurking at this point. Especially at this point, maybe.

I play center field. I'm not a pitcher. And even if I was a pitcher, Nolan Arenado is on my team, so I wouldn't be pitching to him.
Or it makes it uncertainty. I have no idea how this argument even started and I can't grasp what it's about and why you're so passionate about it. All the shrugs sent your way.

Instead I think my ISO displays that I'm trying to let it happen organically. I have nothing to hide.
Why though?
I see the concerns. It reads as staccato and low-fi. But not sure it reads as scum.
Everyone who voted Jimmey could be town, and he could be town as well. If they/we are not, which one is scum? You say that you don't want the wagon, but who is a bad seed there and why and what wagon would you like is what I'm thinking about when I'm reading your posts and stuff.

Gurl. I just do stuff. This game I wasn't really prepared for it to start. And then I almost forgot about it (which would've made my vote stay on you and all the lols etc). But the least I can do is jump a wagon and hope it creates some kind of waves (wan't even hopeful of it, since many players here know me). I'm very surprised to see you react this way to it though. I really don't get it. What's up with you this game?
Colini's posts reads like a scum player who wants to lynch the town player who deserves it the most.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 4:04 pm Yeah, having read the case against Jay, I don’t see anything I wouldn’t expect from his town behavior. Just curious - why do you feel it's ok to vote Floyd over no posts, but not me over 3 posts?
Actually, I think I was the third vote, but that is totally irrelevant. Why are you blantantly ignoring all of these things 1) this is not how I play as scum, 2) I said I would catch up later (and pretty sure I implied I hadn't read the game yet, which I hadn't (so why the "omg I'm the highest poster voe is me"?))JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:35 pm I hate Dizzy's vote. It made my wagon 4-strong, and nobody else had more than 2 (not even sure there was a 2).

Not long ago you gave me a pass for saying I would catch up later, and you didn't seem bothered by me. Now Jimmeeey is throwing poop at me and I'm orange to you. Give me your thought process please.

Read to page 11.
Players I'm looking sternly at:
Colin - Said stuff about this.
Choutas - Suffers "let's get to work" -> does nothing-syndrome we know from Wolbre in the ass-class game
Marmot - Change on me seems weird, and I just think they are scum now and I can tell these things when it comes to Marmots
Players I'm like grmpf at:
Epig - Cause huh.
Eloh - Cause huh, but also I've played once with them and they barely posted and also I think they voted me that game too. = (
Other inactives
Players I'm like awww:
MP - Cause I love him and we are buddies
I forgot that I had suspicion on Nova, but I did/do?
Quin could be ok.
Jimmeey is cute when angry and needs a hug.
Who else is in this game? Scotty is a bit anonymous. I want Nut to replace in for Floyd.

Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 1]
Alright, thanks. So you have enough experience to know anti-town doesn't always equal scum. You voted Lapluie and said her behavior was not pro-town. Why not just say you think she's scum? This is why it looks like you're searching for town that it would make sense voting and it also reads like a guilty mindset.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 9:14 pmI started playing around 10 or 11 years ago as a wee babe but I have played extremely inconsistently in that time. Despite some arguments, I appreciate the efforts made by Marmot and Jay today. Also Kyle, Colin, and Dizzy (in the final hour). Let's continue trying to get this game solved, everyone. We need to win this thing.
I generally don't have tons of time in life right now, but at least I know the game is running and will do my best from now on. That said, I will go to sleep after the definite mafia flip, cause it's like after 3am here.

Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 1]
It's pretty general. I imagine you as a tiger, but with glasses, so that it looks like you're reading the newspapers and are just as shocked as everyone about the death and blood in the jungle, but then you hide in the bushes and prey on the animals that have like resting bitch faces or whatever, and you're also smoking a pipe. Does that make sense?ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 9:25 pmSo I'm pretty sure this is the post in question. I'm not sure how you get "cagey" + "under the radar" and interpret "[anti-town]" to mean "town, but not really playing as a townie." It's pretty clear here, imo, that I find flying low and being callous in their posts to be suspicious behavior. I'm really not a fan of the way you're characterizing this at all.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 5:33 pm In general it just seems like cagey, under-the-radar behavior, which is not generally pro-town, imo.
Honestly, I'm just following a hunch. I won't fall asleep to this hunch, meaning, I will check with myself if what I think is true about mafia in this moment actually is true, and continue to engage with you. Does that sound fair?

I don't know you as a player, so it's hard for me to read you. I also am following the suspicions that makes sense to me, and that includes you now. If it was a close race between Choutas and someone else I didn't suspect as much I would've voted there. I half way wanted to for an ego boost if he flipped scum (which seemed rather likely to me), but I decided to spend my time focusing elsewhere. I talked about your's first, because I already had some suspicion there (and didn't much on MP), it was easier to ISO you, just the first thing that came to mind. Re: Easter Mafia [NIGHT 1]
I'd say something like this:
Town:
Kylemii - Really like tone and interaction with choutas seems honest.
Lapluie - Like the tone, and I like to sheep Quin.
Quin - Probably town unless weird bussing.
Jimmeey - Probably town for a number of reasons.
More town than not:
Colin- Kind of purposfully exaggerated my read here to get something out of him. Haven't really made my mind up, but meh.
Wolbre - On the surface doesn't really look super good, but I definitely think they feel different from last game when they were scum.
In the POE:
Eloh - Little to go on. Throwaway vote.
Epig - Practically nothing. Where are you at? Talk about stuff.
Marmot - I will smell his urine to learn what he ate for breakfast.
MP - I actually really dislike the end of day. Seems really apathetic towards Choutas. Other players noted Choutas supposedly eager to get the game going but then doing nothing about it. MP did not take note of this, and he's a strong enough player to notice as town. The switch doesn't look good either.
Scotty - Pretty meh compared to last game when he was town. Not much to go on, but no actual suspicios stuff imo.
Nova - Not much here either. Still hold a small gut suspicion from early game.
Floyd - No show.
I'm mostly eyeing MP, Nova and Marmot. Epig also needs to do something.

M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 7:56 amThis is actually a good point. Or maybe it's because I did the same thing and I know I'm not guilty. What's the motivation for a mafia member to switch once the wagon is clearly decided? What's the best move for a teammate to make in that situation; historically, what do players tend to do? Wish I knew.
I think for me I'd be compelled to jump on the wagon. But truthfully, I'd try to do it much smoother than a last minute vote after trying to get somebody else lynched. : p And I think that would go for anyone. I just don't get why you or Marmot moved at all, when Choutas was getting lynched anyway. I don't know if that is a culture thing or something. For me, I purposfully didn't vote Choutas cause there would be nothing more to gather from that.

Re: Easter Mafia [NIGHT 1]
Probably depends. I think I do more "don't understand what you're even saying" when scum and more of "that's just shallow thinking" when town. Self-meta weeeee.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 8:06 am I'm torn on Marmot because my gut still thinks he sounds genuine, but another thing I just thought of: Marmot said something to the effect of not understanding the suspicion on him. He also suspects me despite the fact that his EoD behavior is essentially the most comparable to my own. I tend to think I throw out statements like that more when I'm mafia than town, but again, that's a self-assessment off the top of my head so it could be completely inaccurate, and otherwise I'm certainly not comparable to everyone else. Is there any anecdotal evidence about this? Are players more likely to make a statement re: not understanding suspicion as town or mafia, or does it depend on the player?
I'm interested in how Marmot suspects you and me, or if that has changed. Marmot, can you talk more about this?

I'm taking in all of what you're saying, MP. Don't think I have an actual response though.
What happened with you and Jimmeeey mi day, btw? That quarrel/discussion thing seemed out of the blue to me and pops up in my head now and then.

Re: Easter Mafia [NIGHT 1]
Night 1
You were in that game too though, a lot longer, so why don't you have your own take on this?
What I still have a problem with is that you came back from that ISO and asked "should we lynch him?" 7 minutes before deadline, when it was clear he was being lynched anyway. Like you would be part of the actual deciding factor there, which you weren't.Marmot wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 8:26 amOur votes are almost identical, but they are different, and I suppose part of it is because I know why I proceeded the way I did.
I don't think Choutas had any votes when I left the thread. When I came back, he had 3 or 4 (can't remember) and I think was in the lead. That was like 30 minutes from EoD. I did a quick ISO, saw nothing great from him, so switched my vote.
And I suspected you before that anyway, so maybe I am just tunneling.
Can you explain why you think this?
Pretty amazing, right? : pColinIsCool wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 11:47 am Did that post of mine really warrant 4 of yours in defense ... ?
I've seen my share of typos and misclicks and shit like this in my days, and it's NAI in itself. What you read into is the reaction to the accusation.Scotty wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 1:29 pmThis definitely struck me as odd and I’m glad Marmot brought it up. I think that a player could make that mistake in either alignment, but I think even moreso in a situation where a mafioso is moving around names on their spectrum list to make sure they cover all their bases. Matter of fact, j would make sure I didn’t miss my teammates. I think missing teammates would look more damning than not, and double teammates, albeit careless, is a slightly better mistake.
In wolbre’s case, I see definite possibility of teammate collusion there.
Touch me!
Won't ISO Wolbre, cause I'm lazy. But he is dramatically different from last game when he was scum. So either he is consciously playing very differently, or he's just town. I should actually look up one of his older town games to see. In ass class he was more soft spoken, timid and soft around the edges when accused. Here, not so much. The whole attitude is just different. At least that is my take away from that one day I was alive in ass class : pJaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 9:27 pm nova has done nothing since his earliest spat with Quin and I. Charlie Baseball has done nothing since he did nothing. High suspect.
wolbre04 has problem moments, and someone needs to check his ISO against the one he produced in Ass Class.
You were in that game too though, a lot longer, so why don't you have your own take on this?

Day 2
[VOTE: Charlie ] aubergine
My instict is to wifom a bit extra about strong players or players who I would think could be a goon target, like you and Quin. Which one here is not strong at strategy or not paying attention to the point of just lol let's kill Nova who nobody really has a town read on? Doesn't leave many imo.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 9:57 pm I honestly think that kill is a decent look for any player who is known to play with any semblance of strategy and doesn't engage in foolery. MP and Charlie Baseball come to mind first.
Yeah, I don't have the time for this.Charlie Blackmon wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 10:52 pm While I'm at it, I'm going to lay this out there:
I am a professional baseball player. I play 160+ games a year and have spring training and everything else. I'm on the road a lot.
You will get commentary from me when you get it. I'm so tired of hearing that I'm doing nothing or that I'm quiet. You'll get commentary from me I have the time to deliver it. If you don't like that, oh well.

I was going to note some other things which I don't remember.
Quin is the only one defending the night kill as clever. Just sayinnnn.

What did you say about him? The baseball quirk is cluttering you posts, and I also have "nothing" in terms of content from you, except you seem to want Wolbre dead and you're saying MP is entertaining so many possibilities that they pretty much cancel each other out, or something like that (?)Charlie Blackmon wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 11:00 pm wolbre04 should be go next. Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 2]
No? He said it was a good look for certain players, as he think they would be unlikely to make the kill. Not that the kill in itself was a smart one.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 9:15 am3J said it was good in the post you quoted directly above this one
That depends entirely on who scum is. If it's exactly you and Jimmeeey, I'd say it's a smart kill. Generally, it seems like a weird kill. Why not kill someone who voted Choutas and is generally townread? I tend to not lean on NK analysis, especially early game as it turns to wifom for me very quickly. I don't understand what basis anyone would have to call it a good or bad kill though, entirely. For me it's a weird one.
K, I should definitely check out a previous town game from Wolbre. It will have to be later though.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Wed May 23, 2018 9:19 am I wasn’t in Ass Class with scum wolbre but his play here seems different from AG to me. Much, much, MUCH sillier. And going off with a flurry of posts when I so much looked in his direction — that’s not excellent.
I will have to ISO him further, and ISO Epi to see his case on wolbee, but can anyone tell me what those two look like as scum? I haven’t played with either like that yet.
