Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 0: It's 'TIME' to get started

Turnip Head wrote: Wed Jun 13, 2018 4:59 pm What happens if we run into a version of ourselves from the past?
Did your past self meet you? If not, then this can't happen.

There's only three plausible options:

1) There is a singular universe, and so your experience of the past is exactly what happened; or
2) There is a multiverse, in which case if you meet a version of yourself from the past, that person is not you; or
3) There will be plot holes in your life story.

Don't forget, retrocausality is about the future effecting the past. So, it's possible you could create the multiverse, but it's also entirely possible that the point of this game is to demonstrate that retrocausality is an illusion designed to keep you pacified.

What should I be trying to retro cause?
If you’re mafia, you should be trying to go back in time to kill yourself.

If you’re civilian - just write yourself letters to keep you from being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I have no read on Mac in this game. I don't presume he's good just because he's been good in similar circumstances in the past. It could just as easily be an intentional move to get me to read him as town. Also, I think there's been at least once he's done this and been bad (Talking Heads), but I'm not 100% certain of that.

Suffice to say I’d advise everyone else to pay attention to the fact that Mac cannot claim ‘as usual’ in respect of me since he has always been wrong and still is.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 1: Better flush out the PP

Look, just because I have a town read on you doesn't mean I trust you.

It just means I think you're town.

I liked the particular questions you asked of Mac, around his read of me.
I liked the way sig handled Epi's declaration that the mafia should watch out.

As for Mac - I tend to think he has no particular need to go through a deliberate scheme to declare me town so early if he's bad, and also think he'd be inclined towards consistency with his previous town self in the hope of getting me to town read him rather than choosing a different path. But that read I'm less confident in.

Dunya is bad but I went back in time and prevented her signing up to avoid that situation.

I’m not ‘subtly’ doing anything. If someone says behaviour is suspicious and lynchworthy, but it’s that persons normal behaviour, I’ll point it out every time, and there’s nothing subtle about it. Epi was just posturing anyway (looking to see who would take the bait).

Policy lynch zeph if you want, but don’t pretend it’s anything other than that.
But how do you know what “normal” is? How many gamed have you played with Zyph to attribute normalcy to any of his play?
It only takes one counter example to be bullshit logic.

I'm not posturing. And my original vote was not a matter of policy.

I note that you and nutella have both tried to paint it that way.
I don’t believe you.

Golden, what was your last scum game here?
I can’t recall. Might be as far back as 2016.

I guarantee you I’ve never taken day one suspicion in any of them, though. I’ve been lynched day one many times in my mafia career. Town every time. This time would be no different.

I’ll lol if epi is the person who needs me alive. Someone does.
Holy shit that’s a long drought.

“I’ve never taken suspicion in any of them”
Well, there’s a first time for everything
There doesn’t have to be and this isn’t it.

Your suspicion is as baseless as it was in upick. You have no actual reason to suspect me.

Using the word subtle to describe what I did with Zephyrus is intentional misrepresentation.

Also who said it was a policy lynch? I vote because I think it’s suspicious. If that’s policy lynch, then so be it.
In that case

[VOTE: scotty] aubergine

Because there’s no way in hell your suspicion of Zephyrus or linking him to me is genuine.

As a policy lynch it’s consistent with normal town scotty. I might even buy it if you said it just had aspects of a policy lynch but there was a small suspicion. Scotty likeslynchinv low posters early.

But not apolicy lynch at all? Genuine suspicion based of a single early day zero post? There is nothing true about that - not from you, or epi, or anyone ever.

@Golden , do you really have such a good handle on people's metas that you can "town read" Kyle, sig and Mac on day one? Seems strange to me.
No.

Reads are always subject to change. I’m not going to hold off making them because I might be wrong.

Chances of me ever posting what I did about zeph if we were baddie teammates is precisely zero.

You’re being buddied by scotty.

Re: Retrocausality Mafia - Day 1: Better flush out the PP

No scotty, I don’t think that absolves him from being bad. I’ve never said I have any read on Zephyrus - how could I when he’s done nothing?

I do, however, have a read on you. And it’s not baseless in the least - and the idea of writing off day one suspicions as inherently baseless is also bad. I’ve caught many baddies red handed on day one, it’s when the biggest mistakes are made.

Mistakes like casting the second vote against someone who has no readable content.

Why not? What’s so unlike your baddie self in posting an innocuous counter to my vote? It’s not blatant defending; Nono. It’s more..:subtle
What’s so unlike it?

I’d literally never do it. If you’re my baddie teammate, don’t ask for my help. I’d sooner bus you.

And Zephyrus couldn’t ‘easily be lynched’ when he had three votes before you shifted to me? Or is that different because you say it is.
