My favorite mythical creature is the gamesaving late game replacement townie. Think about it. No matter how powerful your creature is, the replacement player could come in, realize your monster is scum and get them lynched. I thought I saw one of these once but it may have been my imagination.

(Actually, this is my fourth favorite but my three favorites are all offensive.)

I'm sorry but i cannot see how a late game town could defeat a dragon or like cthulhu unless that's like their thing or smthng

I've never seen a lynchproof dragon or cthulhu.

Spoiler alert: Jack is a tryhard, Tony is awesome and rarely scum and Never doesn't know how to be a townie, yet, so cut him(?) some slack.



PS: How did Sprityo make it into this game? I tried (not really) to cut him out of it by recruiting Tony so the mafia wouldn't kill me on N1 again. Yet here he is. Did someone drop or is Doc bad at counting?

Most inclined to vote Sprityo for self preservation lolololol or Epi for picking on someone he may view as weak.

Epi has seen Tony twice. Once, in a mediocre town performance in ME (sorry, Tony. I've seen you do better) and once when he got himself modkilled and lynched with only one post.

Does Epi care? No. Is that good as a townie? Yes. Is it a great cover to push a bad lynch? For sure.

Tony hasn't said anything to make me think he is good or bad.

I don't think I've ever town read Sprit, though. Double lynched in ASOUE and I saw no difference between day 1 town Sprityo and day 2 scum replacement Sprityo. Suspected him until almost the end in ME as one of the two remaining not-my-team bad guys. Didn't really think one way or the other about him in Pokemon when he was bad.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'll have a hard time lynching Sprityo early. I'm hoping I start getting a real bead on him this game. We'll see.

I can kinda read: Doc, Golden, Tony

I always scum read: DF, Eloh

I'm not so great at reading: Epi, Sprityo, INH, Never

I've never/barely played with: Boom, Made, Rico, Lorab, Timmer

So anybody from the bolded lists I suppose. Back and forthing on my new SL, Sprityo. I'll let his reactions determine how much free pass he gets.

My strategy for dealing with Epi is primarily to poke him with a stick until one of us dies or we both win. I haven't figured out his alignment using this strategy but I still tend to win and haven't come up with any better ideas.

I'm not really one for pretending to think things when I'm good so, have a drink.

But seriously. What's your town strategy? What's the best way to read you. I haven't figured it out.

Strategically, if I am town and there are four other players (1 scum) and I know how to read three of them but it's early, lynching the one I can't read is best strategy. (Applies to inactives, too.) Yeah, it's my weakness but I'm owning it and giving you the chance to get around it.

Are you declining because you do things I think look bad or because you're really bad?

It's D1, so I'm not comfortable with lynching anybody, but if I had to vote right now, I might would send it at Wilgy, Rico, INH, or Sprit, for mostly inconsequential reasons. I'm not feeling great about Epi either, but I've scumread him in every game we've been in together.

That's an interesting perspective. I don't think I would say that... I see in Dom what I see in LC, there is more of a truthiness/earnestness to their town play that they have trouble replicating in tone when bad. What you think of as 'mean', I'd call 'genuine hunting'.

Having said that, this is a two team game, so genuine hunting isn't inherently town-leaning. Everyone should be doing it.

Dom was pissy in ASOUE (twice) and a bulldog in a good way in ME.

Idk if I've seen bad Dom, though. He may just be more serious later on. Maybe I shouldn't be too confident in my ability to read him. Can't buy my own lies that he was more town than the other townies after me in ME. But he was more town than the town scummers who played along with him.

Why that many "ol" additions the first time? Possible tell that you were thinking too hard about that post, and baddies must generate content whole-cloth. That's how I feel. I'm hesitant to say all the strong town reads cause of that thing with you me and Wigly in ME. That's what the two mafia game balance relies on.

If that makes me a less useful dead townie after getting nked, so be it. I don't think I'm getting nightkilled immediately.

Too late anyway, but I honestly don't know. I was kind of thinking about voting for Jack or Sprityo, but most likely wouldn't have affected the final decision in any case. I briefly considered joining the Made wagon but I ultimately agreed with you that he looked town and some of the votes on him look opportunistic/sketchy.

Take two games for example:

ASOUE: Epi created an off board townie alliance while the mafias shot each other all night. The town lynched less than half the mafia members and won easily.

Mass Effect: Confirmed townies were clear. The mafias only killed townies. The town lynched mafia like 80% of the time and lost.

Key town strategy in high scum % games is to not flat out confirm townies so the mafia can't turn a strong town performance into a town loss or capitalize on a weak town performance.

We want the mafias to shoot each other. So don't go painting targets. In single mafia games, I'm of the opposite opinion.

If only one of you is bad, Golden is, but not because of his interactions with you. Rather, his pushes do feel somewhat twisty and noncommittal. Like a raptor testing fences, if you will.
