I am perhaps pre-conditioned to distrust an early Alison claim because I have seen her do it two times and she has lied both times. But I question this one in particular.

I am wary of the motivation for Alison to claim exactly like this in her entry post. She is explicitly wedging herself into a pre-formed town-core via this claim. It seems as though she has the confidence to project this claim into the thread right off the bat because she is comfortable declaring town reads on Mac and Jay ~20 posts into the game. I don't disagree with either of those reads, but it feels like Alison has pre-concocted a plan to drop this partial claim which hinges on these other "strong players" also being town. I question whether Alison would make this claim if she didn't have those town reads, but I also question that she would be confident enough in these reads to make the claim only 20 posts in.

In the Mafia Alison world, she wants to wedge herself into a towncore of her own invention by capitalizing on an advantageous role which can (presumably) be used to appear as mechanically confirmed later down the line (we explicitly are told that we know nothing about the setup. Any variety of a role claim should be taken with a grain of salt right now), and pocketing a few of the more authoritative voices in the thread right off the bat.

alison is a very purposeful player, and i didn't understand her purpose behind asking that specific question to sloonei. it didn't feel like a question that was intended to get alignment indicative information out of sloonei, nor did it feel like a question that was intended to create a serious deal with him, so it left me scratching my head. it made me wonder if alison was asking an effectively pointless question for the sake of justifying her vote in the poll, and didn't feel comfortable placing a vote down w/out providing some kind of justification for it

if i was a wolf and i had the tiebreaker vote between the two deadlines, i would probably feel self-conscious about choosing my vote without discussing it with the rest of the thread first. that made me wonder if alison's question toward sloonei served the purpose of giving her a "reason" to put down a vote, since the timing of her question struck me as relatively odd/unnatural

He seemed to have TMI on two separate things. Occam's Razor is that he has TMI.

If he has TMI then his TMI either comes from scum messing up big time or town given setup info by the host. Without going into details I think it is plausible based on my role's flavor and mechanics that it would be a piece of info given to an informed townie. I think TSP is more likely to be town than to mess up this hard as scum, especially since he is a reasonably mechanically oriented player.

Could you please expand on the non-tutuu reads here?

All of the town reads come from feeling fine about the interactions I had with said players after questioning, basically not finding anything they said to be manufactured or malicious. I didn't interact with you all that much but we had that mindmeld about Tony early and you feel similar to that G-Man game we played. Alison was supposed to be in the town reads too but I guess I forgot her.

Esooa idk, not townreading her yet and thought her questioning of my Falcon post was odd but she seemed to accept my explanation. I solved her off of mech in Spiderverse and was (semi) wrong about her in Fallout 2 so she's kind of a tough one for me

I do not love that KZA's response to some light pressure is to attempt to disarm the case with the duel tactics of discrediting his own scum game, and also appeasing to the argument being made ("I am aware that my tone has been more serious..."). These are both things that I can associate with a mafier trying to smother the embers of a case against them.

I was trying to help TSP since I think he made a fair read on my usual tone

when KZA gets asked about his early concern regarding falcon, he says that he is "not too worried" about falcon's case against sloonei anymore since falcon was willing to move past it (https://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewt ... 02#p759902). this post bothers me because KZA talks about falcon in a way that seems relatively cautious - a mindset that contrasts awkwardly w/the fact that KZA put falcon in the top of his townreads shortly before that point

it made me feel that KZA could have been interested in pitting sloonei/falcon against each other and then backtracked when the thread consensus shifted to: "falcon is town". i struggle to see the point where KZA authentically changed his mind about falcon

Or I was just worried about Falcon's weak case and figured he wasn't pushing anything malicious when he townread Sloonei minutes later. I don't post every single thought I have so you won't see this exact moment, sorry.

Also the thread consensus was already very much "Falcon is town" since before I even entered the game so that part is out the window

You can do whatever you want. If you're town, you should address your accusers in some way. I'm responding to this one because I thought your posture might suggest a guilty mindset.

Discrediting yourself can be a tactic because you're setting a very low bar for yourself, thus anything you do which might earn you townie points can be treated as though it carries greater weight than it ordinarily would.
And also, no. You would not be admitting or confessing to anything. You'd just be setting a low bar for yourself to make it (theoretically) easier to climb out of the present suspicion.
