"Breadcrumbing" is the popular term here for info-proliferation. Just because people aren't allowed to claim their roles, it doesn't mean they have to ignore the information they receive. If, for instance, a cop gets a guilty ID on a player they hadn't previously suspected, there's nothing preventing them from launching into a full tirade against that player the next day, or dropping subtle hints here and there. Basically the no-claiming rules make it so information is to be used more personally, and puts the onus on the civilians to be active in the thread and function as a group to solve the game, rather than waiting for power roles to come along.

This is part of the reason why I'm in no hurry to read all of the roles in the setup. It's never that bit of a deal to me early on. I know my role and I know how I want to approach the game as a civilian. That's all I need to get started.

I don't care to comment on how to make use of Felicia at this time. I think the player who has that role can be trusted to use it however they see fit. I don't think it's a bad idea to provide suggestions, though.

It's the best way to play, imo. My favorite role is vanilla town though, so maybe don't listen to me.

Run mountainous game so there isnt any mechanic info to be had :tipping:

This game, Ultra has already made a hot take and claimed that he's going to flex on the thread (not hesitant), and you're buzzing him with questions as if he needs the help. (Where Nova was just whatever about it)

Enough for an early townread on Ultra. Not sure what to think of all your questions yet. Feels kinda like fluff, but it's also something you do with new players.
The highlighted portion feels tacked on and arbitrary. Speedchuck has shared a straightforward read about Ultra when prompted. He then adds a nothing read on Sloonei which acknowledges that he is observing Regular Sloonei Behavior, but quibbles over it anyway. Why does this non-read on Sloonei exist?

I mean the felicity player's peak is a one shot, and can ascertain the identity of any player role in the game, so I think it's a no brainer that it would be used straight away

I mean sure if you wanna get a scum right from the start and not give them any chance to out their teammates

But there are only 2 (pending 3) in the mafia team currently

Actually a question I had regarding Sara/ Laurel is that do they become a different scum team should they find each other and we have like

5 factions

they come from both alignments and are very common posts to make

you may find a read in there but i see it as a stretch

How is it very common to suggest angelshooting a scum lynch before the game truly starts???

I agree with this.

The maths change on if we can win with the cult or not but I’ve played several games were the scum team was fairly obvious but we couldn’t eliminate them because nks overpowered lynches. I’ve also played several games where the sker shot a goon or two and got lynched, which made the game a huge uphill battle for the wolves.

Don’t lynch the sker at mylo. Do lynch the sker on D1 or D2.

It’s kinda bullshit to take the hardest role to win as and use a one shot to eliminate it immediately though.

So if the sker isnt lynched D1/D2 then it keeps going until we reach mylo? And then we dont kill them?

Anyway there's a point in that there's potential for reads by waiting to use the shot but there's two problems with this

1) The remote possibility that felicity dies
2) Interactive reads and PoE is more difficult in a multiball game

I think some sites may have a different definition of GTH than we do. For us it's "you have a gun to your head and you have to choose one alignment or the other," not "you would defend this opinion with a gun to your head." Kinda opposite.

The thread is full of productive play right now and it is early and opinions are not yet formed. I do not think GTH is required at present and in fact is likely to just suppress better scum hunting.

Well yeah no I agree with you on that. Maybe this wasn't clear but I suspect him for focusing on mechanics as a reason in itself, not just because of specific things I saw as scummy. Even if I didn't have those little pings (which like you said are pretty circumstantial) I suspect him for the mechanics talk as a general trend.

It comes from familiarity with Epignosis as a player. When he is mafia, he comes with a plan. I perceive him as a player who comes into the game with a calculated direction when bad.
When he's town I think he's more receptive to the thread. The might mean he takes a lighthearted approach at times to get people to react. Announcing a suspicion on a player who hadn't showed up yet strikes me more as Casual Reaction Baiting Epi than Coldblooded Calculated Epi.

I thought this was a read on Creature not Epi
