Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Night 2]

Tony's call for a full scum team guess can be a productive step forward in the continuing dialogue if numerous players take him up on it. So a GTH read compilation where we limit our number of mafia guesses to 5? Actually, it looks more in depth than that. I'm in. Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Night 2]

Marmot, I count four posts among your 31 which I would describe as of the spammy or irrelevant variety. You've been doing things at an atypical rate. Tell me about your level of investment in this game so far. Just spotted this post while doing some very light ISOs. I go back and forth between invested and uninvested. I don't have the time I used to to pour into this game, and posting in nothing but quotes but from another game is time consuming. Why do you call it atypical...

And also this meta-discussion is hurting my head. I just told you what I'm getting at. I was concerned that your play was different from your civilian norm. That's an accusation. What is not to understand? Now it's an accusation. Until you bring alignment into the equation, it looks like an observation. When you say "If you're different than what I perceive to be your civilian norm, I'll talk about it", that doesn't tell me that you think that, just that you'll respond that way if you encounter it. That's what I find ambiguous, that you didn't state as such before. The accusation is still vague. I don't think I've posted as much "silly" things as I usually do. I don't have a problem with it. I like to be more light-hearted when I'm getting too serious or involved. When I'm posting less overall, I don't feel as involved, so I'm probably less inclined to flood the thread with fluff...

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 3]

Somebody research the "bad replacements first" theory. Between Street Fighter, Pirates and Miuntsins we ought to have a fair dataset. We lynched MP in Vocaroo because he replaced out, or tried to (I can't remember if he actually did). He was a civilian. We lynched him under the impression that mafia MP replaces out of games frequently as of late, while civilian MP will continue playing. We were wrong. In Mountain Mafia, I had to replace 5 players. 3 of them were mafia replacements. Additionally, both of the civilians who replaced out requested it. 2 of the 3 mafia members who replaced out were not requested, the players just went AWOL...

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Day 3]

Dunya, on a day when players could not properly defend themselves, why did you want to lynch a player who was talking and could defend themselves later rather than a player who wasn't here? You haven't played many games with me, but I am and always will be a strong advocate of NOT lynching complete no posters until absolutely necessary, such as in POE phases. I believe the opposite. I'd rather lynch the no-posters sooner than later. They may eventually join and post, but the likelihood is low. The people who are here posting will continue to talk, so let them talk. This was a more prime than ever situation to lynch a low-poster. The talkers couldn't even talk properly while the no-posters exhibited the same behavior...

I'm sorry, but I have a theory I go by and that is the odds of catching scum are better when you lynch someone with content you can judge and build a case for. I play mafia cos it's fun and because I'm competitive as hell and like to win. Lynching no-posters just so I can keep scummy-looking posters around so more people are talking isn't my thing. I lynch ya if ya scummy. No posters aren't scummy until POE. :nicenod: Fair point. In general. I disagree in this very particular situation. Your best bet into sussing me out on here is looking into my independent game in the burglary I guess. Though that game pace is a pretty lousy comparison to full blown mafia games. If you're very interested, I can email you a PDF of the last scum game I played on RYM. It's 700+ pages long. I'd rather just lynch you since you have content and then I can build a case from that. Plus, I'd rather bet the game on Day 8 on 8 days of actual Speedchuck content than have to do it on basically half a day of content some of the other players are going to give by that point in time. Why would Jack pretend such a thing when one of his alternate suspects, speedchuck, is a counter wagon...
