Oh my. I love this day 0 herd culling. So different from the ancient days of mafia when everyone struggled for something to say on day 0 and the few aggressive people wound up getting lynched on days that followed. Now everyone can be aggressive and the mafia can blend in.

But this a holiday so I’ll be back later tonight to say things that can be overanalyzed. Happy GoT day everyone!

Just because I think I need to post something, I’ll put this out here.
I’m at a point where I’m making connections between people, no further than that. I have connected at least five people, but I’m not naming them yet. Because, I feel like studying them more, and because I don’t feel strongly that any of them are bad. One more because- there are still two people who haven’t checked in yet.

If I need to say anything more productive, prod me and I’ll try. Otherwise, I’m going back to observation mode.

I gave a few reasons why I’m not naming people that I think might be working together, in a later post, but I didn’t state the main reason. If I named off a couple people, (on the off-chance I was right) and they are mafia, then fine. But if they are a town team, that’s not so good. I would like to observe a little longer before I start pointing fingers.

I am having a hard time catching up. Still have two pages to read but when I’m done with those, it will be four or six. So I’m stopping at this point, and I’ll going to try to make sense of something.
The last game I was in, someone got to use an ability on day 0. That made me think that maybe Nutella had been forced to quote lyrics. Then Jay roleclaims about being able to put a posting curse on someone that stops short of insanification. Wen day 0 is up, Nutella isn’t insulting Jay anymore, and everything is peachy keen. That just pings the crap out of me. Ok. I’m back to reading.

I hope I get time to go back and see who suddenly showed up after Epig post about 24 hours.

I’m placing my vote on Nutella for now, but I may switch to Luna in a few. I just didn’t want to miss the vote while I doublecheck stuff.

I was going to post something about this. I didn’t change my vote because someone asked me to, not sure about others, but I have a list of question marks about more players than I expected. A lot of shit questions. My only thing about Mac was that he posted differently in GG, where he was town. Some questions about others are even weaker. I want my vote somewhere where it isn’t wasted but I wish I felt surer about anyone than I do about everyone. Will post my list tonight.

Very early in game, I thought I saw a subtle connection between DDL and Nova. Not indicating good or bad, just kind of having civil conversation, in and around lots of Jay posts. I thought it might develop into something indicating something, but it stopped after the thread got so busy. I also thought I saw a connection between Juliet’s and Jay, a bit later, but I didn’t see the connection with Jack that someone else brought up. Anyway, early stuff got dropped with more recent stuff.

Elohcin leaning bad, I don’t think her posts felt genuine, but her reaction to the lynch was more important. I remember in Gossip Girl, I wasn’t really crazy about the way the lynches were handled, but I came around to appreciating it. Elohcin played that game but she didn’t get upset at all over the last minute vote switching. Her reaction today felt personal.

I’ll be back in a few with more.

Jack - really pushes players, came out hard against Daisy and Juliet’s, when almost no one else agreed. Did complete about face around lynch time. I need to reread him, I would have said leaning bad, but I want to reread first.

Jay - seems the same as last game, seems town, but I could be fooled. I’ll stick with town for now.

Juliet’s - seems quieter than usual. I thought she was raked over the coals for a simple joke earlier, but I need to reread her too. Maybe all the grilling over what seemed like a joke to me, put her off a bit.

Luna - I noticed her case on Kites, someone I’ve never played with before, but it seemed really weak, comparing it to other players who had mentioned him favorably ( I don’t remember who now, I don’t keep spreadsheets) I didn’t 100% buy it.
She came in after Epig made an announcement about the 24 hour cut off, which is noticeable to me. Like maybe she was tipped off, maybe not. Then she lectured someone about not voting for absentee players, again makes me think of being on a team with an absentee player. I could have voted her for those reasons, but it would have been a pointless vote. Leaning bad.

Nova - I didn’t have any reason to see him as bad, he posted a lot but it seemed like he was trying to be a presence, like no reason to hide. ?

Nutella - her posting hasn’t been as insightful as it usually is. More bickering than I’m used to seeing. Leaning town.

Spacedaisy - I didn’t see anything wrong with Daisy’s posts, also I was really surprised that Jack made such a deal out of them. Maybe I’m missing something there, but I’m leaning town on her. For now anyway

That’s because some of them are. Several people asked me to post what I had, so I did, even though things can change from day to day.
To be fair about Elohcin, I’ve spent the last couple hours rereading Gossip Girl. Elo called the posting style a Chinese fire drill, and commented on how things were moving too fast near eod. But she handled it well and discussed changing her vote on a few of the lynches. On day 4, reywaS was lynched, and he had been gone most of the day. He posted early about who he would vote for, but he never came back. Close to eod, elohcin noted that she hoped he would come back and vote to tie things up. She was a civ, she tried to be fair, she did comment on the craziness of all the last minute stuff, but she didn’t get upset about it. Probably because Rey could have come back if he wanted.
But I still don’t feel good about her being so upset today.

Because I wonder why he said that, so early in the game. Was he just shooting the shit to kill time, was he familiar with your play style, was he trying to sound town? I just wonder why someone would say that without saying why. If he was serious, it seems bogus on his part.

gossip girl was fast enough for someone who retired from mafia five years earlier! But I loved it because it was perfect for helping me to get my feet wet.

I checked up on your Gossip Girl game and I think I remember you kind of being disappointing with the activity, and reminiscing of times past where people a lot. Isn't this a game's activity that should suit you?

I probably mentioned old school mafia a few times during that game. There is a difference between the posting from old to new. Old- early posting is sometimes forced sounding, and the new way would get someone lynched right away. But it’s acceptable now, and I like that better.
Old - people made sure they posted as often as possible, but they spelled out everything carefully, lots of details and reasoning. Now the posts mostly seem shorter, with less of a case-making feel, unless it’s an actual case making post. I’m struggling to follow when there are tons of posts because I can’t judge whether a person sounds sincere or not (not knowing a lot of the players). I’m determined to give games a try again, and see if I can get to a point where I can read people a little better or not. I may give it at least a year, if I haven’t learned new tricks by then, I’ll go gracefully.

Can anyone verify the Neighborizers claim yet?

Speedchuck has spent the last two days being a yes man to a mafioso. Even his posts that were supposed to be accusatory sounded hollow.

I’m thinking along these lines. Not so much because of the things they said, but because they were here together almost the whole time, and I don’t recall Speedchuck putting in that much time with anyone else during the game. Maybe I’m wrong but it felt like a teammate trying to help. Is Speedchuck this dedicated with other players who are in the spotlight?

Early in the game, I thought DDL was trying too hard to appear townie. He was saying he thought certain players were town, but I couldn’t understand why he felt that way. They hadn’t posted anything particularly inspiring. Then he dropped out of my horizon. He is one I need to reread tonight.

I almost voted Luna on day 1 because I didn’t like some of her posts, but I’d have to go back and find them, and also some things other players were saying may have reinforced how I felt. She seems to not be very invested in the game, but that doesn’t rule her out as bad.

At some point tonight, I’ll have a better answer for you, after I’ve finished some more reading.

No, I think it’s wise. Vote switchers were a thing for awhile , I don’t know if they still are. But you put your vote on someone else who had suspicion on them, so I thought it was a good choice.

It used to be assumed that a no show player who wasn’t modkilled, was probably a mafioso, and the host was trying to get a replacement. Is this still likely, or not so much?

Ok here’s some feedback lol. On the post where you said I separated you and Juliet’s from Jack, I guess I didn’t make myself clear. People were calling the three of you the j squad, and I got the impression they were implying a bad take on all of you. My point was that early in the game I got the idea that there was a role connection between you and Juliet’s. That was very early and it passed. I did not get the idea that Jack was connected to the two of you.
To explain better, I felt like the connection between you and Juliet’s was possible town Btsc. I don’t say that in games because drawing attention to town status in some cases paints a target. Plus it was early on and my early impressions change most of the time. So I hate that you thought my ‘connections’ were a way of trying to make people look evil, they aren’t. I look for signs of people supporting each other early in games because it gives a good reference later when trying to figure out who possible teammates are.

And, I don’t think y’all are a town team now, but I do have you both as town now.

Thank you. And no, he does not imo. DDL is often rash and comes across sounding a little rude (that's just how it is cos he says it like he means it). I haven't seen any conflict here with antone except for that one post with Jay where he was like "what is this a job interview? I dont have to shit" which in a little bubble sounds pretty fake to my ears when I keep rehearing it lol. The fact youre describing him as polite and agreeable is pingy in itself.

Thank you. The post where he said ‘I don’t have to do shit’ , I took as more fooling around. There’s so much goofing off between some of these guys at the start, that I’m never sure when ‘serious’ starts. But I will remember your description of his play style for this and future games.

Linki- yes, Juliet’s and Daisy are familiar with my mafia game. It sucks. I got better at being bad over the nine-ish years I played, but I would never have won without a teams help. I always let my mafia team make the decisions.

Most of the time you had to be alive at end game to win. The last game I played, I think it changed to the whole team won regardless. What’s funny is the first three or four years I played, I never heard of a win condition. We had them but the hosts never called them win conditions.

Nova, if you’re talking to me, I would have tried to play my usual town self, although it’s hard to do when you have a team. I almost always got caught.
