I did not play in Survivor mafia and do not know what the tribe mechanics were like for that game. Can someone fill us in on those details? Perhaps @Scotty wants to say hi and talk about this.
Yeah, I mean for starters, it’s pretty straightforward. Survivor also shared a similar mechanic with Lost Again 3 (I believe that was 2017) which had peeps on a beach and in the hatch. The hatch exploded after a few days if I recall. And didn’t Golden also host that? Might be something similar.
@Sloonei you mentioned that you were a button that created chaos and changed around roles, but I’m not so sure the same thing would be applied here. It might have some other function. It might even merge tribes. Who really knows. But I like to poke burning logs with my finger like an idiot so I’m not one to make a decision there.

Re: Cerberus Tribe - Day 1
Oh sweet! That’s a cool addition- thanks man! Nice to meet you as well!
Also I just looked it up and I’m thinking of Lost Season 2 played in 2016, so ignore about the hatch blowing up bit.
The tribes thing should be straight forward in any case- it should merge when a certain amount of people are eliminated in each.
The difference between this and my game is the addition of a mafia team. Mine was just a LMS type of deal. If I were Golden, I would split mafia evenly between tribes. Or as evenly as I could. In a 23 person game, I don’t know what would be a comparable ratio. Also considering there might be a few indies in the mix, there’s probably at least 2 baddies in each tribe.

was there any other weird shit that happened this year that I should be aware of? I missed out on about 9 months of it
We see Tina Wesson who was the doctor role in Survivor, doing a similar job here but against a virus. That’s new. I also wouldn’t be surprised if her opposite is a mafia member and randomly placed on the other tribe. There has to be some sort of randomness here with roles that counterbalance each other.

Hey HOSTS
If the player with the most votes is also “immune” to a lynch, does that result in a no-lynch or the next-highest voter being lynched instead?
And if there are ties in a normal lynch, same question.
kthnxbye!

Unfortunately, we don't know who did or did not send in a haiku, and people have an incentive to lie about doing so in order to protect themselves.
This could potentially lead to an even more lackadaisical and pointless Day 1 than usual, where not only does everyone not know who the hell is scum, but we also don't even know who we can actually lynch.

Seriously? Half the peeps haven’t even checked in. You know how my day one goes, Sloon.
But now that you asked me I was thinking that it was funny that INH hadn’t checked in since he’s been pretty active elsewhere and then I looked and saw that he’s been active in the beginning of this game and I totally forgot he even posted.
So of the people that have done anything thus far, he’s got my interest. Labeling him as blendy.
But I’m probably not gonna vote for him. Because it’s day 1

Yeah I dunno if INH is bad. He seems pretty pissed to get heat this early. I mean plus, I’ve basically only given mechanical suggestions in the game too, so I can’t exactly fault INH for that.
Sloonei, are you bad? Just looking to “get the game going” by agreeing with my initial read of INH?

But I’m gonna vote for him right now to have a placeholder vote.
If he comes in, I’ll look to change it depending.

Ok well. That non-lynch non-accomplished anything.
Hi jack. Why were you quiet the entire last 48 hours? any particular reason?
Assuming our votes were too spread out if they’re going the “majority gets lynched” between us, I feel like I see how Golden is exercising this game with a taste of a Survivor mechanic, where one tribe essentially went to Tribal Council while the other didn’t. It wouldn’t surprise me if this mechanic was taken out tomorrow, but I also am assuming it won’t. I have a gut feeling it will continue as such, and if our votes are spread out again tomorrow, I feel like once again the other side might overvote us. With that group of people, it seems likely they’ll plop votes on one person. Wonder how many votes Quin got and why..

I went after INH to start the game because he was here and he was somebody that would respond to me and who others could potentially talk about as well.

Again, I picked INH because he was there. He had provided content which could be discussed. There was very little of that. I wanted to create more of it, so I talked about a player who could be talked about. There was nothing special about it. It's what I do in every game.

(I fumbled too but not for lack of trying to move the ball.)
I don’t know anything about the Fellowship game so I don’t feel fully qualified to exact a label on INH’s gameplay this time, but at the time I didn’t see anything wrong with his voting an inactive. I genuinely believe voting out inactives in Day 1 is productive. Many would argue otherwise that there is still ample opportunity to find a baddie then but then they must be Sherlock Holmes to my Kim Kardashian. I like votes to analyze. Seeing as we still don’t know anything except the mafia wanted to kill ninja, I feel like we’re in a similar place.
So you’re saying in a previous game INH was basically the Cleveland Browns all game and then pulled a Butterfinger Brady in the Super Bowl? Doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be more gung-ho or change his game this time around either. It’s just a bit presumptuous to assume that, since I don’t know what kind of constraint he has outside the game.
Tl;dr I don’t think INH looks more suspicious for going after you, an inactive in Day 1 even if he was essentially one previously.

There’s actually a bunch of blendy players as of now, including LoRab for sure, which is something to catalogue for later. Aside from the blooper kill, we still don’t know shit from the D1 lynch. I dont mind LoRab bringing up the prospects of couples killing each other because I wasn’t thinking of that possibility as well.

-there’s not too much to be talked about yet, aside from the NK.
-it might Ben hard to get his points across today seeing as it appears he’s insanified
Why I would vote for you:
-It appeared opportunistic to jump on a name that I put out in D1. Makes me wonder if you would have agreed with me if I had originally said Marmot looked blendy. We’ll never know.
-I feel like you’re trying to frame my way of thinking to vote INH, and I don’t take well to that
Why I’m not currently voting for you:
-you’re the highest poster and are actually contributing to the discussion. I don’t know yet if what’s you’re saying is manipulative or genuinely a fact-finding mission.
-You’re not technically ‘steering’ the thread by leading us to any one name. You’re actively pressing people on their opinions of things.
Why Marmot over INH?
He’s blendy, has added nothing worthwhile to the discussion and has self voted now twice. Also he has no game-mechanic-induced penalty to talk.

I think It’s the coincidence of it, claiming it was an independent thoughtSloonei wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 2:32 pm I still would like to know why you (and wilgy) think it would be suspicious of me to follow your comments about INH with my own suspicion of him. Even if that was what I did, I would not view it as a good scum strategy, so I don't know why the angle should be pursued.

Re: Cerberus Tribe - Day 2
“Blendy” could also be a great strategy for a civ that I never seem to employ in early games (one day maybe I’ll learn), as a meddlesome talker could be seen as a threat to the mafia and be bumstickeroonied

Re: Cerberus Tribe - Day 1
I was referring to INH’s apparent insanity this phase. You don’t seem to have anything like that afaik.
Hi MM! I get not being unavailable, but even in your post just now, you’re not offering anything new. It seems like you’re at least reading the thread.
Who would you look to vote for this phase if not yourself?

I haven't really read the thread, but I'd vote Sloonei for being a tryhard, you for contemplating being blendy, or DrWilgy for reasons.
But give me a moment to settle in. I was away from mafia in general for the weekend, and not much had happened here when I was around.

What does that mean?sig wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 2:41 pmYou're flipflopping more than ummmm something that flipflops alot.Sloonei wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 2:33 pm I'm coming back to the idea of voting for sig. His attacks have been vague so far. I keep coming back to the use of his word "odd". He's been describing all of his suspicions in that manner. I'm wondering if that vague language is born out of an absence of authenticity.
Though tbf I'm not the biggest fan of my role so I wouldn't mind being lynched, on the other hand I have no good reason to be lynched and if I'm NK'd then it's game over. You know I talked myself out of it I wouldn't vote for this Sig guy today.

Re: Cerberus Tribe - Day 2
I don’t really have any.
But come to think of it, nor do you. What are your thoughts on LoRab? I just went through your post history and the only interaction or mention I’ve seen is telling her to vote with you for Boomslang.
But now you’re onto dog again.
I agree with jack, it seems like you’re flailing.
Yes, you have the most posts, but I have the most cat food stocked in my pantry out of all my friends. Doesn’t mean I own a cat.

LoRab wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 10:13 pmAnd to the other posts about me (and votes): I didn't suspect anyone day 1--honestly, I still don't really have any suspects. I didn't particularly like either of the bandwagons, and they both felt like just that, so I didn't want to vote there, because I didn't trust them. I didn't like how Sloonei totally switcherooed on Sig, and how he seemed to be going after every name that came up--it seemed opportunistic. Was it enough for a vote later in the game? No. But I had to vote somewhere, and it raised my eyebrow enough that I voted there.Boomslang wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 1:44 pm
I also have an eyeball on Lorab right now. "Ugh. I have no idea where to vote. I don't actually suspect anyone" at the end of Day 1 is so noncommittal, then she votes Sloonei for "peer pressure" and the active voices in the thread don't really get on her for that lack of reasoning. She then jumps in, first post of Day 2, to begin the WIFOM about me and the Blooper kill.
Day 2, you were being discussed, and I thought I'd raise that point, which hadn't yet been mentioned.
I guess I can see how those things might seem suspicious, but I'm not bad.
Also, throwing out there: tomorrow night begins the Jewish holiday in which we cosplay while eating cookies and getting drunk (yes, that really is the holiday--we also have a carnival for it). Which is much fun, but much work. And our synagogue has 3 different celebrations for it, over the next several days. I also have jury duty on Thursday. So, my time will be wonky over the next 5 days. Just giving fair warning.
So in summary:
-you have no suspects, even though you mention Sloonei as opportunistic.
-you’re not bad because you’re not bad
I’m ok with my vote staying on you.
Would you vote Sloonei now, since that’s the only read you’re offering?
Hey Jackofhearts2005 what if it wasn’t a sig / Sloonei team but a LoRab / Sloonei team? Note how Sloonei votes LoRab for no reason but doesn’t substantiate it and removes it on a whim so he can look back later and say “Hey, I voted her on day 2 guys look!”
I feel like sig and Sloonei may have just had an odd spat because you can’t say odd without sigodd
Just a thought..
