The problem is if you have too much fun, when you want to get involved with something serious, no one takes you seriously.
In theory.
In reality, I just get too serious too fast and no one takes me seriously anyway.
2 fast 2 serious

Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 1]
this game is so much more palatable atm than the job.
Let’s see...
JJJ and Quin are camels in a spitting match.
Mac makes some blanket statements that jjj is bad, as well wolbre
Marmot comes in (hi) and WIFOMs the shit out of everything.
Gotta admit. I don’t know what Mac specifically saw in calling out jjj, which raises my eyebrows but I especially don’t like how Marmot entered the game on his behalf.

That jjj got 3 votes so easily in the first half of day 1 and still is the leading Potential Rabbit (tm) leads me to believe that it’s too easy.
Especially nova’s vote.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Quin and jjj just got into a semantics despute. Nova’s vote is a thumb getting caught in a drawer

Jjj calls out nova for looking suspect, and this is how nova reciprocates:

I was prodding him with that question since the post pinged me. It felt awkward and forced.
I like loose and funny check-in posts. His felt weird. Like he had it pre-made or he didn't know what to say and just wrote 'check in post'. I like to pay attention to openers since I believe that's a very awkward phase of the game for baddies. There is no flow or pace to the game at that moment.

I’m all for good D1 traditions that don’t get you lynched D1, but this isn’t just a D1 tradition for him either. He will often self vote later too, and he guzzles WIFOM like he’s at an orchard tasting.ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 10:49 am I’m just realizing how brilliant Marmot’s D1 tradition is. There is no expectation of him ever making a real stance this phase as town and it carries over into his scum game easily, freeing him of most things a scum might get trapped in that early. I’m not making a read here, just, kudos.
Marmot’s production is where we should see an alignment pop up

Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 1]
To your first paragraph: do you think him claiming burnout (which I wholeheartedly find genuine) is AI specifically to him being civ? That’s the opinion I take from you in that sentence.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 11:05 amLooking at Jay's ISO now. I feel heavily conflicted because on the one hand, he has 3 votes and has seemingly made an effort to keep the game moving despite fighting some serious burnout. That points to town Jay.
On the other hand, I feel like I don't understand what happened to Jay's progression of his reads to some extent. He seemed to genuinely suspect Elo:
And this suspicion stemmed entirely from Elo's treatment of him. He immediately discarded it as fake.Spoiler: show
Then got into this massive back and forth with Quin starting here, using various over the top language, highlighted below:
Spoiler: showSpoiler: showSpoiler: showLooking at this again, the beef I have with this is that Jay is immediately discarding both Elo and Quin's thoughts on him as fake. It doesn't seem apparent to me at any point that Jay is honestly considering whether Elo or Quin could genuinely suspect him. He's NO Uing completely.Spoiler: show
I initially thought this looked alright, but thinking about it some more, somehow I think I simultaneously hate the Jay wagon (because those other votes are crap), but am starting to wonder if Jay is in fact bad this game.

Though I may not hate Quin's vote quite as much, depending on Jay's flip, but it'd be nice if he came in and gave us some sort of content that wasn't Jay-related in some way. Otherwise it's eh. Obviously Dizzy's vote is a throwaway for now; he said he'd properly catch up later. That's NAI. And nova's vote is for strange reasons. It'd be nice if he could come back in and address that.

My initial thought during the Quin/JJJ spat was that they look civ. That hasn’t changed.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 11:19 amNormally I'd be in 100% agreement with you. But something's off with Jay this game, and I've tried to articulate why I think that makes him look bad. What do you think of what I've highlighted?
I agree with your assessment that jjj engaged with Elo and Quin and essentially no-u’d them, but he didn’t hide that fact either. I think he’s backing up his reasoning and is feeling cagey. Which I don’t blame him for- I’d probably be like that too as the front runner on D1.
I think I have to look at the votes on him first and foremost, because I can’t shake he feeling that he has too many errant votes for bs reasons on him. I don’t like nova’s vote, and I don’t even know why dizzy is voting there. Now you’ve come to the conclusion that he’s bad, and there’s a recipe for a mislynch in a 13 Person game.
Unless everyone votig for JJJ right now is town and we’ve just solved the game lol

Catching up:
ThNks jjj for doing the interactive analysis. As I suspected, choutas doesn’t have too many interactions with anyone. But there’s still stuff to look at with voting.
In wolbre’s case, I see definite possibility of teammate collusion there.

This definitely struck me as odd and I’m glad Marmot brought it up. I think that a player could make that mistake in either alignment, but I think even moreso in a situation where a mafioso is moving around names on their spectrum list to make sure they cover all their bases. Matter of fact, j would make sure I didn’t miss my teammates. I think missing teammates would look more damning than not, and double teammates, albeit careless, is a slightly better mistake.

You’re posing a lot of questions of “would mafia do this” in these posts in a row. But every person is different, soooo trying to read into what the general mafioso would do is like trying to blindly read the nutritional facts on a cereal box.M Plus 7 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 8:06 am I'm torn on Marmot because my gut still thinks he sounds genuine, but another thing I just thought of: Marmot said something to the effect of not understanding the suspicion on him. He also suspects me despite the fact that his EoD behavior is essentially the most comparable to my own. I tend to think I throw out statements like that more when I'm mafia than town, but again, that's a self-assessment off the top of my head so it could be completely inaccurate, and otherwise I'm certainly not comparable to everyone else. Is there any anecdotal evidence about this? Are players more likely to make a statement re: not understanding suspicion as town or mafia, or does it depend on the player?

Re: Easter Mafia [NIGHT 1]
Is “who is she” a common street slang? I might be a little behind on my cool kid lingo, but if it is, please enlighten me.wolbre04 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 9:05 amOkay I feel like I'm being trolledMarmot wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 9:03 amThe thing about the Choutas one is that you listed two very different thoughts. In one you described his meta. In the other, you asked who she was. I just don't understand how you can thinking both of these things about the same person, because thinking one of them doesn't suggest you'd also be thinking the other one.wolbre04 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 8:59 amI have to ask - why? I also don't understand the Mariah Karie reference so
1. His meta is low posting
2. He was posting nothing (which is less than low) this game -> "who is she" AKA WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU
But mixing up gender roles in the same post? That looks like a slip, bub. Feels forced.
But again, if it is some sort of common phrase people say, like #shehashadit then the prosecution retracts it’s statement

Re: Easter Mafia [NIGHT 1]
Been meaning to ask you- what do you think of Elo this game? You seem to imply she isn’t a great liar. She hasn’t really done much thus far in terms of making traceable statements, but is there anything in her tone that raises your eyebrows?Charlie Blackmon wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 9:37 am The manager gets pretty upset when we're on the Internet and not listening to him, but I'm in the bathroom right now to squeeze this in:
I believe wolbre04 is in the same lineup as Cooties. The reason I say this is when he had my name in blue, he said he was thinking about "Upickem," which reminded me of this one Iranian ball player Hassan Upickem, who many years ago killed a man and acted like the victim was still alive. Crazy guy actually got away with it. This feels like a similar ruse.

Re: Easter Mafia [DAY 1]
I can’t get this quote from marmot’s entrance out of my head. I strongly feel like jjj is town this game, so I don’t think Marmot called out his scummates here. But I currently suspect wolbre and wouldn’t be surprised if Marmot threw in one of his teammates in this too. Marmot votes choutas end of day, wolbre voted early before vhoutas even had votes. Coming in from different angles to form an isosceles triangle. I can see it

Re: Easter Mafia [NIGHT 1]
I dont feel like lynching Floyd tomorrow. Maybe down the road if we’re having trouble in paradise finding the active scummates (there’s at least one), but not soon.
