Re: Vanilla Mafia - Day 0
This is probably the weakest Pats team of the decade. I'm actually worried about the divisional round opponent for the first time in years and I don't see them winning the Super Bowl this year. But then again....

Anyone who does that with a minute left knows exactly what they’re doing- saving their skin in the snakiest of ways.
I wasn’t looking confused. Nobody was. Don’t make it off like we don’t know what to do without Sir Sloonei here to hold our hands and ‘make things happen.’ Your game sucks right now, and the more you post garbage reasoning like that only makes me more inclined to vote for you tomorrow.
Do me a favor and don’t flinch next time. Take your chances on the tie-breaker rather than relying on the Tuck Rule.
I did mean to vote with more time on the clock though. That was work’s fault.

Re: Vanilla Mafia - Night 1
I am home now so I can explain myself a little more thoroughly.
I’d been keeping half an eye on the thread for the last hour or so of the day while running around at work. I saw that I was in a three-way tie with Jay and Eloh. I saw a few people listlessly kicking some tires, and I was anticipating that one or two of them would do somethink to shake up the poll. I still wanted Epi lynched, so I didn’t move my vote. I made a single post before my vote calling for more attention on him, but it seems to have been totally ignored.
As the clocking was winding down, so was the activity. Nothing was happening, so I put a vote on the candidate I objected to the least, which was Elohcin. I suppose it’s fair to criticize me for doing this too late in the day to allow for a proper response, but that was not my intention, and there was ample opportunity for anybody else to create a more clearly defined tally during the several hours leading up to that moment. Saving myself was top priority. Secondary to that was not allowing the lynch to be left to chance. Ties are not a good thing. They should alway be avoided.
I still suspect Epi and would like it if we could talk about that now.

Re: Vanilla Mafia - Night 1
Well the whole “literally” argument could have just been a distraction ploy from somebody nefarious. You’re the participant who I’d find the likeliest to actively conspire to do a thing like that.
Then there was your general dismissiveness to my attempts to engage you afterwards. It seemed like you were, again, actively conspiring not to talk about reads. That’s something I consider to be bad. I could see you as a baddie trying to take advantage of the thread’s general lack of activity by throwing shade on a player or players who are trying to kickstart actual gameplay. I can see you doing that again in your response to my vote. You don’t seem to object to the vote itself, or at all concerned with my mindset when I made it. You’re just picking at the semantics of my post. I don’t think that’s what’s important about my post. If we’re going to talk about it, we should talk about why my “making things happen” statement is indicative of chocolate.

Some of these are fair questions that I don't object to. This also is not a comprehensive list, as I left out some posts that were just continuations of conversations started in other posts on the list. The point I am trying to make, which I've been trying to make for a little while now, is that Epi's general tone in this game is antagonistic. I don't view him as being constructive with his questions or his input. I think this type of content serves to inflame the thread and keep the civilians from forming a cohesive and productive atmosphere. I think Epi is doing this intentionally. I think that's how he would play in a game like this when he's bad. I don't think it's how he would play in a game like this when he'd good. By "a game like this", I mean one that is relatively quiet, lacking on content or power roles, in which the town's success will depend on its ability to work together and eliminate the small team of baddies using nothing but in-thread evidence. By keeping the thread unstable, he makes it that much more difficult for us to do those things.

I was at work for the last 6 hours of the day yesterday. Hence “lurking” and my declaration that I wouldn’t be around.G-Man wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 7:33 pmLiar, liar, pants on fire.
Other than that, Sloonei reads only slightly below what I remember as his average style of play. Day 0 was. Was your vote for sprityo a genuine a-ha vote out of the gate or was it a get-back-in-here-mister kind of thing? He circled back later, suggesting sprityo was the only player who had done anything worth discussing. Could be opportunistic or it could be a result of his definitions for the game. He leans more toward treating mafia as a science than I think I do.
He lurked and saved his own skin. Why? What made Eloh look worse and more deserving of death than Jay? He also had two votes at the time. He tried to back into a justification later but I’d like him to read both of them again and explain why Eloh and why not Jay.
His Night 1 has left a sour taste in my mouth. He was a little condescending and he generated a fair amount of white noise by clashing with Epi like they sometimes do.
