Some games have a rule that you can't LD answers to direct questions, to avoid everyone lining up and saying "I am a Civilian" as an automatic checkable phrase. Also, what happens when Glorf is given Veritaserum? Super-honesty?
The effects of Veritaserum are described in the OPs under set-up, which clearly state it's limitations. Any attempts at a loophole would be grounds for asking the host, not something to go off on a tangent discussing with other players. I am puzzled at why you are asking about it's effect on a specific player, unless it's meant to be a joke as by what I can ascertain from other's posts Glorf has a truth meta.

I don't see a point in this post in furthering town's goals, if anything it reminds mafia of a mechanic they might have forgotten about. It just wants to go off into pure speculation, you don't even bring up any good targets for use of it.

Baseless mechanics talk is a general scumtell for me so :

I don't know how that would be a slip. They're two completely different things.

... unless you meant townslip.
No I mean did she scumslip. They're two completely different things. One of them you were talking about, the other one you weren't.
=.=

Yeah I don't get it.
Ok I'll walk you though it, because I love you.

Here you explain the Deathly Hallows mechanic. Which, since they're all locked behind secrets, the basic gist is "You get one if you kill the guys that have them or if you're the last vote on the guys that have one"

Here Owner says "Dark Arts" and not "Deathly Hallows". Her exact quote will be helpful in understanding my thought process so here:
Owner of a Lonely Heart wrote: Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:12 am
speedchuck wrote: Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:04 am :) what about me, owner? Give DH a break and flag me for a bit.
You knowing the intricacies of the Dark Arts stuff and sharing it could be an act to try to buy townie points. I remember reading the stuff about it but not nearly picking up enough about it to understand it all. Basically, if someone had or possessed Dark Arts abilities this game, they would probably read up on it or make sure they understood their abilities.

Technically, what you said is some form of mechanical-talk or a retelling of information, in which some of it is free to us. But it doesn't necessarily solve us the game or anything.

It's potenitally the kind of post meant to look like a person is being useful, but in reality, they aren't truly really adding to the thread.
"The intricacies of" - What's intricate about [SECRET] and "Keep what you kill"
"The Dark Arts Stuff" - if you've got Dark Arts on the mind and someone says Deathly Hallows, you might confuse the two. Freudian Slippage.
"I remember reading the stuff about it but not nearly picking up enough...." - [Secrets] and "Keep what you kill" doesn't strike me as hard to retain.

IDK thinking out loud, the best indicator of an actual slip here is conflating "Dark Arts" with "Deathly Hallows" because she had "Dark Arts" on the mind.
I think this has merit, the times when I have caught myself scum slipping it has been on minor things like this. By itself I wouldn't jump on this but that Owner has spent this whole phase tunneled on someone over a previous game adds to their rapsheet.

The funny thing with this game is we might get some magnificent ties. Because if you're on a townie lynch that goes through, your house looses 2 points. So especially on day 1 if I don't have a good scum read, I would rather be a single vote on someone who's not going to die.

These posts from Lunalee all slightly pinged me, the mocking joke in response to TH, the preemptive excuse for voting off leading wagons, the overly long somewhat passive-aggressive post to say he's town and the fact that they prompted this JJJ wagon but only just joined it this late.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 1

As for Snape, he is one of my favorite characters in all of fiction. That means taking the bad with the good, though I feel most are too unforgiving of him because they don't even try to think of things in his shoes, which I attribute due to POV bias from Harry. Living the kind of spy life he had to would make anyone miserable and given his personality and disposition prior to spy life, it's really a feat that he is only as nasty as he is, which is itself a part of keeping up appearances.

Sadly, I don't know how best to read you. And I might have played the most games with you.

Angels of Ulennia
Favorites 6
RWBY
Favorites 7
Cracking Idea (you were replaced)
In This Town We Call Home
Angels of Ulennia - lynched d1 due to an autistic player and some bad play
Favorites 6 - weirdly not that motivated and played more cautious than normal
RWBY - this game was a fucking trainwreck on all levels
Favorites 7 - lolAries
In This Town We Call Home - a bad performance from me

You haven't been in any game with me that was a good game in general or a good performance from me. Not having any meta feel for me off that list of games is to be expected.

Why Soneji?
He made a post at Long Con that I replied to earlier that looked scummy in its motivations. This also happened right after I threatened to lynch him for chronic not-showing-up-itis, so that also factors into my read.
My post was several hours after yours, this sounds like entrapment where just by actually playing I'm suspicious. I suspect Long Con for baseless mechanics talk, you described this as "pointing fingers at a townie for talking", when the fact that his talk was empty is what is suspicious to me.

Ok, excuse me, but enough of this. The issue I brought up has been discussed, acted upon, had mild accusations levelled, and has become a short, referenceable, public decision for a number of players. Despite obtuse claims to the contrary, the parts that only the host could answer were answered by the host, as was my intention, and clarification edits have been made in the Rules post.

So get a new suspicion, because the "baseless mechanics" accusation is more baseless and suspicious than me bringing up an actual issue.
My vote is not currently on you and I only brought up my suspicion again in defense of myself against TH's suspicion on me.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 1

My Lunalee lynch isn't going anywhere so it seems it's between Owner and TH. Owner had a potential scumslip but it's so slight that I'm not willing to bank on that. TH's push on me is bad and they have had some odd interactions. What edges things out for me is that Luna and TH are voting Owner, while Owner is not voting TH, scum would have to be really unmotivated to not self-pres.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2

Lunalee remains my top suspect, they haven't done anything today to change my view on them.

JaggedJimmyJay : Your main problem with me just seems to be my vote on TH which was a tiebreaker vote between two options I wasn't sold on but with so little time left it's better to make a choice there then be off by myself on a Lunalee vote. The main thing that tipped me over to TH was that Luna was voting Owner.

Basically I know there are some good players on the replacements list so I wanted to see if scum would treat the slot as they did in Fire Emblem, where rabbit was killed N1 so that speed wouldn’t replace in as a towny. We’d just discussed this in Outpost a few days ago so it was fresh on my mind. If the night passed with nova alive it would have roused my suspicions considerably. Although the vig choice is perplexing and should probably be examined. I’m sure this sounds made up but I don’t care.
What should be examined about a vig's choice of kill unless you want to expose the vig's identity?
juliets wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 10:51 am I just re-read speedchuck and found that:

1. In the end he did not believe OoaLH was bad so I don't think he was killed by a baddie team with OoaLH on it.
2. He said some negative things about Glorf which doesn't look great for Glorf but it's not enough for me to suspect him.

Has anyone else re-read speed? See anything that I didn't?
Kills are decided upon by more than just one person and that he didn't jump onto Owner there doesn't mean an Owner team wouldn't have killed him for a myriad of other reasons. A one vote swing away from Owner doesn't give someone immunity from a scum team with Owner on it.

It's not a shame brah, that game was super fun.

For me it's more like the initial action scene of a movie where the hero tries to invade the villain's lair but gets his ass kicked. So he has to start over and train so he has a chance of going there again some day.
It's more that it should have been the uncontested GOAT role madness game due to how brilliant it's design was but faltered due to procrastination and miscommunication. Best mafia faction bonuses, a solid set of indies including GOAT HAL-9000, a varied array of unique town roles.

...I want to do another Favorites.

I submitted a draft for Favorites here once, we could try to co-host it. Problem is you are not getting more than 30-35 players here, at best. But could be a cool way to approach it, like do quality over quantity and make global mechanics that integrate better.

Alternatively you can try to see if iwandesu will let you co-host with him next year.
Co-hosting Favorites on NF is just a given now.

Is The Syndicate really ready for Favorites? Did this game prepare them enough?
