Why are Jay, Jack and maybe Juliets bad?

Is it because our names start with the letter J?

I don’t think you all are together. I think one or two of you are but I’m not sure which ones.

Juliets I don’t feel the normal confused/trying to understand vibe I get from her posts. She seems more confident in her reads than I expect from civ Juliets.

Jay, it’s in the way he has responded to dunya. She pressed to understand why two things read differently because she didn’t see a difference. A valid question imo. His response was , she should know me better than that. An implicationhe thinks she is bad. Then a short time later he calls her good, I don’t see a natural evolution of opinion in there. It looks bad to me.

Jack, you pushed Juliets for her joke questions about Mac/nova. I’ve only played two game series this year and even I knew what she was talking about. You presented it in a manner as if she only asked the questions as if she already knew they were on different teams, but that was t an accurate representation. Looks bad to me.

She seems more playful in tone this game than she did in Vault, when she was mafia. I don’t think overexplaining is a tell specific to mafia. Civs can worry they will get mislynched because their reasons are unclear. I felt like I came under a lot of suspicion for this in Vault and I was civ. I don’t think it’s alignment indicative and I think looking at the rest of her posts she looks more casual in tone.

I trend towards if Jack is bad the other two probably are not. Jay could be a teammate withhjuliets, but I wouldn’t say that is a sure thing if one of them is bad they both are. It’s possible, but I’m just spitting out my gut readability independent of each other right now. I don’t believe all three are bad together, no.

I changed my mind. dunya and I get into spats quite like that in many Days 0 wherein she presses me for my least-developed flier reads, implies they aren't real, and then I get cranky because undeveloped reads are my Day 0 bread and butter. The most important detail to me about dunya is that she seems to be consciously resisting the urge to make a bunch of posts as opposed to reveling in pre-game slank cover -- it's a good thing that reflects my own play at present (granted I have shown considerably less restraint).

Ok, this is the line of thinking I wasn’t able to see and made me feel suspicious of you. I’m going to crank you down to a slight bad lean, mostly because I want to read you over again to be sure I’m comfortable moving you to full town read. But this helps to understand.

Did I do any of that? I don’t remember doing any of that. In fact, I have Juliets down as a null read. The only Juliets post I remember is the jokish post and that’s because I commented on commentary of commentary of it. I’m three levels removed from actually saying anything about Juliets so you reading me bad for my “push” on Juliets, who you suspect anyway, is real

I don't think those reads are garbage. Given that you, nutella, and I had just spent much of a page talking about juliets, I can understand how someone else had the impression that you found a juliets/Mac pairing to be... spicy -- whether you intended it or not, that implies that you take the possibility seriously that they're teamed (and thus suspicious).

I'll leave Daisy to talk about the two-way take on juliets.

I’m not reading them as teammates. I can both have suspicion of Jack and Juliets withiut believing they are teammates. Because I don’t know anything for sure. I’m not defending Juliets, I’m saying I don’t like that post from Jack. Just because that one post from Juliets did not look bad to me doesn’t mean that there isn’t an overall tone that feels off to me from her as I look at the whole of her posts.

I don’t see why this is a sticking point at all. Only mafia worry about appearing consistent. I’m not mafia so I’ve got no reason to worry about that, I’m just telling you what my gut says as it is talking to me. Take it or leave it.

DDL - I haven't seen anything yet that convinces me he is good but I can't say I've seen anything bad yet either. His comment about Jay and nova being confusing was...confusing but not necessarily indicative of alignment. I need more time with him.

Who was the one person you had a strong feeling about at that point?

I’ve just done the ISO of Juliets twice and I wish I could explain it more. At first I thought it was that she was less confused sounding, added to the read list which seemed out of character. But she did that in Vault on Day 0 too, so it’s NAI clearly. But I still cannot shake the feeling that Juliets is not her normal civ self. I can’t figure out why though. She seems like there is more confidence in her than I usually feel like I see or something. I don’t know. This is why she was a slight lean, because I know it’s tone. My gut is saying something is off.

And I don’t like the response I just got from her about this either. Her reaction is to jump to saying she will claim if she has to? It’s closed setup and I would be surprised if the baddies hadn’t been given claim cover. I just don’t feel good about Juliets.

I’m off to ISO Jack, see if it changes my mind.

I mean if Juliets knows one of them will win, she knows Mac and Nova aren’t the same alignment. That would make her mafia and since the accusation comes from Nova, Mac mafia as well.

Saying Mac and Juliets have w/w equity right out of the gate is pretty spicy imo.

I think I see where the problem came in for me. When Nutella said it was spicy, I didn’t think of it as her saying she thought it was a valid accusation. In discord people are saying Spivey all the time and she is a discord regular. I just read it like a spectator thinking it was interesting to watch. When you dissected it like this it became you making way more of it in my mind than it was. But on a second reading I think it was just because of my own mind set.

You are not understanding what he's saying. He's not saying you defended juliets. He's saying you were set off by his take on juliets because you are attuned to her as a topic but you are also saying you suspect her for bussing purposes. I don't think he could have made this any more clear a few posts up but you two keep talking past each other and it's really frustrating.

I don’t give a shit anymore. Frankly I’m beginning to question his civ kind frame because whereas I feel open to try and understand where things went wrong he is stubbornly following this incorrect suspicion that he has built in his own mind. I would expect a civ to be more willing to at least fucking try to understand.

I have not felt Mac was bad. Like at all. I’d be more inclined to vote nutella, but I don’t see good reason for that either except for jumping on nova’s joke which I didn’t think she was serious about originally.

If you (meaning anyone) just townread Juliets, okay. But all the “this is a good claim” is setting off my warning bells. It’s a claim I’ve never seen and a claim that never needs to be proven because mafia don’t shoot a night stump or whatever. It doesn’t make me suspect her more but why would it make anyone suspect her less?
I think certain people are less likely than others to make up claims period, and I also think this would make a silly fake.
i'm not saying i doubt juliets but that is silly. 1. epi could have given fake claims. 2. someone on her team could have suggested fake claims (i do this early every game when i'm mafia and the host didn't provide us with fake claims). 3. why is it silly? it basically helps ensure she wouldn't be nk'd cos pointless and not lynched cos she a stub.
I have never seen a mafia team given fake role claims in my life.

That doesn't mean you're wrong. I haven't seen it though. You could be right, but I am not in the business of finding every possible universe where I might be wrong about X. I make judgments.

Elo, I am the only one who voted Mac against my gut because of Jay. Many of these votes moved as a natural result of Juliets claim. There was not some big CFD that occurred out of nowhere. This was just normal game play. I’ve been feeling pretty uncertain all day long with my reads flipping all over the place. You can’t honestly expect that people won’t sometimes change their minds or do unexpected things close to EOD sometimes.
