I don't think scum!Jack goes into the game singling you out and I think that would've been a much more sudden, "in your face" kind of scum read that lacks any build up, if he was gonna use his history with you against you.

I think it was this post that gave me the ole squinty eyeballs. I recall Tony making similar joke-posts early on in both Fallout and the Polka Heist, when he was bad. I took a look at the only town game I remember playing with him (Australian Murder Mystery) and he still had a few joke posts early on, but he got down to business pretty quickly. He's more on-topic after this post, but it's the "[Joke about arbitrary suspicion]" brand of post that got my attention.

This is not something that would determine my vote.

Surprised, or she'd have a fierce scum read of him.
I tend to disagree. We’ve seen this a few times with Rej and Drago (I don’t think in any of the cases where one had a strong day 1 read they were v/v, but I’ll have to check) and it’s been discussed there and my general idea is that the usual reaction is bewilderment, general anger, and resignation — in either case.
For me I’m thinking about what I would do if Sloonei came after me with a case in a few days. it’s a technique Sloonei can pull as scum, but I have to assume that Sloonei as town can misread me too or else what am I saying about my own ability as a scum player?

Did Sloonei lynch me in the game we played together as town? I have no recollection of that game at all.

Idk. I feel like I went something like 2 and 12 for town performances in 2018 and then I crushed wolves left and right here and on MU all through 2019.

So like my confidence level has more to do with what year it is than my alignment.

I guess if it’s lylo and I’m scum, I’m more likely to pick out the week link and go all in to get that last necessary mislynch and as town, I’m more likely to have self confirmed and waffle over the other players. Also as town, I’m more likely to end the game before it comes to that point or just get nightkilled.

As for early game, it’s just going to come down to how confident I am on specific reads. I’d rather not lead a lynch early as scum.

Idk if that really answers your question.
I’m using old data sets — but you made it to endgame in that one game with the sparks and Fallout (as Indy), so I think there’s some data.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 1]

Civilians

Image
The Monitor - You cannot be nightkilled by regular means. By the end of Day 1, you will choose two players to be Harbinger and Pariah. They will know who you are.

If Harbinger is alive, and has not been found by the Anti-Monitor at the start of Day 6, she will choose one player to resurrect.

Pariah’s ghost does not expire.

This is iffy and scary. Would not want this role. Not sure what to do with it.

Image
Awards Presenter - Each night, you will hand out an Award that the recipient can use to add or subtract a lynch vote from a player.

easy

Image
Seamus Fitzroy - Each night you will choose a player to have BTSC with during the next Day phase.

easy

Image
Jack of all Trades - You begin the game with four one-shot powers: doctor, vigilante, tracker, and roleblocker.

Vig night 1

Image
Santa - Each night, you will choose an Item and a player to give it to.

I'm thinking T-Spheres

Image
Oracle - If you get nightkilled, you can reveal a player’s role publically.

Try to die: should be posting high today

Image
Salvadore - You may kill yourself to immediately determine the Lynch target.

save it til end game

Image
Vanilla role - You are vanilla until a player tries to use an ability on you. The ability will appear to be blocked, and you will absorb it for a single use. If multiple abilities are used on you during a night, you will absorb the last one used, and the rest will affect you normally.

Image
Agatha Heterodyne - You can make one Dingbot per night, and use its ability immediately, or save it for later. This action increases your Madness Meter by 1. If you don’t make a Dingbot, your Madness Meter decreases by 2. You start each Day phase with votes equal to your Madness Meter.

Each Dingbot will be able to use one ability before being destroyed. You must make all types of Dingbots once before making them again. You can use up to three Dingbots per night.

- Tracker Dingbot: Will track a player and learn who they targeted in the night.
- Watcher Dingbot: Will watch a player and learn who targeted them in the night.
- Fighter Dingbot: Will protect you from one nightkill.

make a watcher dingbot

Image
Abed Nadir - Each night, you can target a player to fix any cursed items they have. You will learn the item, and once in the game, you can then steal the item.

So, I think players are allowed to claim having an item. This makes this helpful.

Image
King Dedede - If the final vote tally is tied when the Day phase ends, you will decide which player, within the tie, is lynched.

Image
Aja - Each night, you will choose a player to jailkeep, blocking and protecting them.

Play who's gonna die wifom -- you also have a higher chance of blocking a kinda nice role if you do so

Image
Harriet - Each night, you will choose two players to bodyguard. If one of the players you guard is targeted with a nightkill, the kill will be redirected to you, and the targeter will receive an extra three votes in the next lynch. If one of the players you guard is targeted negatively, but non-lethally, the targeter will receive an extra two votes in the next lynch.

use it this is super powerful

Image
Bill Rawls - Each night, you will give a Civ role an order on how to use their power. If they comply, you will know the result, if any.

target Seamus to self or Santa to self or Jack of all trades if you're gonna get vigged but I think Jack of all trades doesn't comply

Image
Lassie - Each night, you will sniff out a player to discover their alignment. If a player posts “[playername] fell down the well!” then Lassie will protect that player from kills that night. The last post of that nature will be the one that takes effect. A player may not use their own name.

cop

Town: SVS, Sig, Michelle, I think Epi
Wont lynch: Jack, Ted, the other half of Epi
Do these reads still stand @TonyStarkPrime and do you have any mafia reads.

In my single game (Inception, a few months ago) Jack looked like he was trying to play like he is now, but without being too noticeable. He was scum in that game, so in retrospect I feel like he was trying to imitate his town game as he perceives it.

This makes me hesitate to vote Jack right now, as much as his overall play has been a bit questionable.
I find that town Jack is more unsure in late game in confident end game and scum Jack is the other way around.

Is posting excerpts from the Aussie game scum chat bad faith here? Because you are absolutely lying and I am nearing 100% confirmation you are wolf because of it.
What?

What does this have to do with anything

Like I think I get it but it's irrelevant here? My ability to read Michelle still stands...???
The part where you keep downplaying Jack being god tier at reading you. I have demonstrable evidence that you know and highly regard his ability to read you. The lines of logic you are using are fallacious as opposed to what they would naturally be if he was actually wrong.
But what would be they be if he was actually wrong?

I like this post 1+ Civ point.

TonyStarkPrime wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2020 11:45 am Let's do some power analysis
So his analysis was good, but I personally don't like random PA like this. Now after Nights I can see it since you want to look over what's happened. But, this was an odd time to do it and is basically just a more in-depth version of what G-man did. As in being around, looking active, but not really contributing anything real.

sig wrote: Thu Feb 27, 2020 12:20 pm Okay gang, so what if we take a step back?

We have two major wagons going, with most of the players on them which isn't really something I personally like this early in the game.

Who outside of Jack, Nutella, and Radish looks the worst/could be a baddie?

I'm obviously gonna say we should go with Nanook.

But, I'm open to other ideas.
I don’t think any of those are good lynches probably reverse alpha best to worst
So you didn't like these three lynches and supported Dizzy, any reason why?

TSP: He's still kind off a mystery to me. I'd like to see more reads from him and why he voted/suspected Dizzy, until then he's staying null I guess.

Any scum reads? No. Not going to pretend otherwise. I think the list of people I wouldn’t lynch is pretty large though. I can expand it if you’d like but I think I’ll hold off til the day.

I would have been fine with any of the three lynches (least pleased with Nutella as I said) but I wasn’t content to let that be that. So I voted for Dizzy.

G-man has been underwhelming. That becomes more suspicious the later we get into the game.
I’m on opposite of this. G-man gives me a good feeling, haven’t gotten any of that sense from Colin. Though I didn’t eeLly know Colin was in this game until now. It’s hard to keep track of so many players.

Town by pure odds. I dunno.

Why?
I have a small sample set (I might try to put a bigger one together after I get home tomorrow) but it seems to be pretty close to 50/50 — which after pure odds and the fact that scum is less likely to be inactive, paints a weird picture.

That could be true. I don't have the numbers. Why is this of interest to you right now?
Thought it was cool. A few people mentioned it in this game. No more than usual but I wanted to see if there was any correlation or any sort of info that could be derived.

Still leery on Jay. FWIW, in all the games I’ve played with Jay as town he’s picked up early pressure. He hasn’t here, but I think that’s attributable to the size of the game.

I'm very interested in these reads. Rip my life.
I’ve got nothing specific. I feel very sure on Juliets but in the presence of lots of town reads I’ll succumb to the majority. Sabie is playing similarly to how she did in Fallout as far as I can tell, it’s a little floaty. Not a lot of fighting to grasp onto, big paragraphs and inherently defensive.
Turnip was a shrug read. Went to put it in Ehh, changed my mind.

Epi plays a very honorable game as scum. It makes it easy to figure it out in the endgame if he hasn’t already tricked everyone.

juliets is my strongest civilian read in the game. How about a one-word summary of your suspicion that isn't itself "bad"?
Juliets is playing too nice. Giving information, asking questions. Playing good cop too much. Taking lines that look for a taker instead of carry themselves.
