Agreed that this entrance was awkward, especially in hindisight with his no lynch proposition
But then you proceeded to shade like 3 other people so I'm going to ask you how serious you are about this slot.

So you can vote on the poll without stating it in the thread? I'm not too fond of that.
How do you vote without a poll.
Also is there anyone so far who's voted without stating?

Re: MU Season 6 Scrimmage [Day 1]
I think holding someone accountable for saying Day Zeros are less valuable is a bit pushy, especially considering they in fact are. Now, if someone was using "Wait, I said that D0, it doesn't count!" as a defense, or as a reason to dismiss a case, that is categorically scummy. But outside of that context, there's no apparent scum motive to stating the obvious, other than perhaps appearing blendy.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:02 pmI don't need "possibly". What are you referring to?
I think DDL got snagged by a booby trap. No lynches are horrendous, and I thought it looked evident that speedchuck wasn't serious in his recommendation.
Reaction posts can also carry a scum motive, so this sounds like TMI on speedchuck

As for the vote, speedchuck is obvscumming.
If he's playing suboptimal to try and garner reactions, well, it's only common courtesy to start a wagon so he gets them.

Re: MU Season 6 Scrimmage [Day 1]
When I casually drop pro level mafia terminology like "Chainsaw defense", just wait until I pull out the big acronyms kids
To explain again what I meant, a chainsaw defense is when you defend someone indirectly through attacking someone else. I found this notable because JJJ didn't really make it clear he town read speed chuck until someone jumped on him, so it looks opportunistic.

Ohohoho, someone's a little defensive. I was just trying to get clarification on what your read was on him was. Or anyone else you shaded.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 4:29 amIs there a quota on how many people you can shade? I'm a proponent of the shade every bad thing you see and no neutral law. I'm not sure how the number of people I shade affect my seriousness, especially since you agree and see the same thing I do.Ultra wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:47 pmAgreed that this entrance was awkward, especially in hindisight with his no lynch proposition

If that was a bait post it's a pretty bad one. A player with low presence makes a very bad suggestion and then leaves. I can't reflexively blame someone for voting for that. I will blame a player for jumping on that player without explanation.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 4:39 amI'm currently beefing with Rundon'twalk and Soneji. I'm not really buying the formers concern with Jay sticking him as good early on, and the whole "he knows I play the same as both alignments" is whack. That has never stopped people from forming read, let alone gut ones. If what he claims is true and Jay knows him well, he should also know Jay well and that flinging poo early on alongside sticking people with an alignment based on first impression is his bread and butter. I think I talked about Soneji's entrance sometime earlier.
The whole no lynch thing is hilarious, and I'm more intrigued by DDL jumping on Speed than the latter making that claim. I took it as him messing around, 'cause I don't believe for a second that he's serious about it.
I can't say I'm a fan of you calling out the vote on DDL, nor throwing around fancy words like "chainsaw defense". Feels like over-compensating

why is it iffy for someone to care what your reads are and prod you accordingly

Re: MU Season 6 Scrimmage [Day 1]
Still don't quite understand, but I think you misinterpreted my vote so I'll elaborate again. JJJ made an opportunistic vote by voting a player who appeared to make a "bad vote". If speed is town, this is fairly wolfy, as otherwise he would not be so confident that the vote was bad.Jackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 12:44 pmTHIS IS UP THE WRONG TREE AT BEST!Ultra wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 12:41 pmwatJackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2019 12:37 pmThis is up the wrong tree at best.

Re: MU Season 6 Scrimmage [GAME OVER]
I felt bad getting lynched D1 especially because I didn't give it my best effort - I could have saved my own ass but I wasn't in a great mood that day and just couldn't bring myself to do it. Playing scum for me is very exhausting but also very rewarding so my performance really depends on my mindset.
But at least my interactions were obscure enough to lead to a couple of mislynches.

48 hr DP is still doable if I have to commit less, probably.dunya wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 10:55 pmThe job is likely to be starting soonest, but if your champs is in 2 weeks, I dunno if you wanna commit to 48/24 phases in a 20-player game. Up to you!
Which champs # game are you in?
Worse case scenario I can use it as an excuse in my champs game if the two cross over
Also, I plan on starting a sopranos game soon on The Millennium Forums. No exact date yet. If any of you would be interested in that.

Re: MU Season 6 Scrimmage [GAME OVER]
I've seen Soneji play a few times and he's a pretty tough read because he minimizes inconsistencies in his meta with low volume but high effort wall posts.Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 11:06 pm On another news, after 5 years I still have zero idea of how to read @Soneji
And when I complained to him on Discord, he told me my case was good for lynching WPK but not for lynching Soneji (WPK is how he's called in NF)
Because apparently he plays different here.
Godanmit.
Aside from scrutinizing his reasoning I think a good approach for him or the "analysis" type players is to try and get into their mindset and ask if what he picked out from the thread makes sense. For example, are they not scrutinizing a certain player when they should, or are they focusing on the most relevant situations of the thread? Are they being stiff and non-topical? Do you strongly vibe with their points? etc

I may check it out, but I'm not sure I can sign up for this game right now. A) Because I'm not sure I can fit another game into my schedule at the moment, and B) because The Sopranos is near the very top of my Shows I Should Watch list and I don't want to risk exposing myself to spoilers before I get to it.
My games tend to be very flavor heavy in construction of roles, with almost every role being custom tailored to the character, but in terms of write ups and spoilers that's usually kept to a minimum.
And start watching it. Seriously.
