Re: underlined: is he one of those players who appears very scummy even when town? Hyena was like that at first for me but I find him a little easier to read now that I've been involved in a few contests with him.

I more remember it as not being able to read him at all but I had not played with him very much so that may have been it.

Yes at the very, very end - the last day in fact after having read you as town in the couple of days preceding that, and not knowing how to read you preceding that. There was a post at the last minute, I can't remember by who, that made me second guess myself. My vote lost the game for town. I just sucked at reading you in that came, and won't make an assessment early in this one.

Excuses and explanations-of-own-posts where they aren't needed, and nothing-posts that look like contributing but are not, both skew bad. Juliets is more concerned with appearance than warranted.

Um speedchuck? Do you not recall in the GOC which we just played that I at all times gave my status on when I would be around? Like everytime I left the thread, in the mornings when I was going to work, when I needed to quit playing for the night, all the time? Maybe you want to take a look back at that. Someone tried to call me bad in that game for that too but I was town.

Also, I have never been a Day 1 player. It always takes me a while to form reads. I do not apologize for it.

I don't know why DDL made that vote. Are you saying I shouldn't be asking that?

I don't care what people think about how I look, I play the game the way I play it.

Okay, so for 112, it's more of a gut read at the moment. I'm getting vibes similar to the ones I got from both her AND Evenstar in the champs game I played with them in last year. Specifically, it's the "Hyena's a tricky player" thing she said. Evenstar said something to that effect and pocketed me with it, so it pings me whenever I see something along those lines. It's even more suspicious to me since 112 also said she immediately townread me and Nutella from, like, page 1.

Thank you I'll go back and take a look at her treatment of you. I forgot that you were in that game with she and Eva last year. I think I'll try to refresh my memory on that as well because I thought I remembered her as not giving opinions as easily there as she did this morning. I could be misremembering.

While we're at it, can someone also define anti-spew?

OK, here's what I'm remembering. By the way I have pulled up that WC game and am making my way through 112's posts there. It's slow going because I'm reading her in isolation as opposed to trying to read the whole game.

I'm generally feeling suspicious of 112 and Nanook across the day. I haven't really pinpointed for myself why, but I would join those wagons if they were a go at crunch time.

I don't suspect Mplus7, and even if I did, I am unlikely to contribute to his Day 1 lynch after I specifically called for and performed his Night 1 kill in the last game we played, Mafia is fun online social time, and I want to hang with my old friend.

I am not suspicious of DDL for the Radishes accusation. nutella sure is, but that's ok. Not really down with voting nutella.

Juliets could be an option. I don't have a townread of her.

My vote has been on Tony for too long. He could be bad, but I'd rather vote 112 or Nanook. [VOTE: Nanook] aubergine because 112's wagon is already revving up.

LC, I know gut reads are hard to pinpoint but there must be something that leads you to vote for Nanook. It would be great if you could even just describe what your gut is saying about him.

I feel really out of it today. My town reads are either being read as scum by others or are scum reading other of my town reads. No one is standing out to me as scum, the qualms I have about people seem unconvincing. I see a lot of green and yellow if I'm doing a rainbow. I'm going to take a break and come back in about an hour and re-evaluate.

Maybe you would do more of what you were doing yesterday. Maybe you would be less direct. Maybe you would just pop in with a question or two, a few reads, a vote then be busy again. Or, maybe you would come in firing questions off, trying to pin people down for their opinions and takes. I didn't see it that way though.

sig, I had a similar reaction to speedchuck about either Nutella or MP being mafia. Town players make mistakes all the time in suspecting other players so I just don't know where you're coming from with saying if MP is town Nutella is probably bad. Is there some piece of logic I'm missing?

I made a compromise. I didn't like how fast the Sig wagon grew, and although I suspect Nanook, I don't feel confident enough to vote him yet. I'd prefer a Tony lynch, but I can settle for MR given the current alternatives.

If not 112, then probably Tony. Him joining the Sig wagon after it started growing kinda sealed the deal for me. He also placed a vote for Speedchuck earlier that I didn't like, and when I asked him about it, he gave me a pretty meh response (Tony: "He's felt disengenuous to me"). On top of that, I don't feel like he tried to do anything during the first half of D1. In the second half, I completely lost track of him. He doesn't have any kind of thread presence from my perspective.

I didn't like that speedchuck vote either and I agree with your point about thread presence. Maybe I'm not voting him for the wrong reason (the fact that I just lost a game by voting him and I feel bad about it.)

Ok so for the rules. I'm hoping this is a one day thing because none of them really appeal to me.

Rule 1: Secret vote - it seems like this allows scum to all hop on the same person here at the beginning when all of them are alive as opposed to open lynches where they are usually adverse to all voting together and get a civ lynched. Rule 2: Post slightly within character - this seems relatively harmless unless you don't know your character. I meant to try it but then forgot when the game started. This seems like the least impactful option.

Rule 3: Eliminate all but the top 2 one hour before the lynch. I think the point that was made that this just moves EOD an hour earlier is a good one. I'm a little worried though because if EOD stays at 10:00 I may not make it to a lot of them and could miss that last hour where I would need to revote. If EOD is moving to an earlier hour I'm not worried about this. My other qualm is my feeling about the day period in early game is it's important for civs to have as much time as possible (within reason) to make their decisions.

So at the moment I see #2 as the best option unless a lot of people don't know their character, #3 as the second option, and #1 as the third option. As we talk it through though my mind can be changed. I'll wait to vote.

I'm generally feeling suspicious of 112 and Nanook across the day. I haven't really pinpointed for myself why, but I would join those wagons if they were a go at crunch time.

I don't suspect Mplus7, and even if I did, I am unlikely to contribute to his Day 1 lynch after I specifically called for and performed his Night 1 kill in the last game we played, Mafia is fun online social time, and I want to hang with my old friend.

I am not suspicious of DDL for the Radishes accusation. nutella sure is, but that's ok. Not really down with voting nutella.

Juliets could be an option. I don't have a townread of her.

My vote has been on Tony for too long. He could be bad, but I'd rather vote 112 or Nanook. [VOTE: Nanook] aubergine because 112's wagon is already revving up.

LC, I know gut reads are hard to pinpoint but there must be something that leads you to vote for Nanook. It would be great if you could even just describe what your gut is saying about him.

In the first post about MP he says:

MP's alignment has no bearing on nutella's. It's like you saying 'If Nutella's town she should know better' at the same time sussing MP in the previous post. If nutella's town then she doesn't know what MP is, and it doesn't make any sense to draw the conclusion you just drew.

Which, incidentally, set up a 2-lynch false dichotomy with a lot of shade and then a shrug to distance yourself from it.

I also reviewed sig's ISO and noticed something I had not noticed before. Earlier in the game he came in with his first reads list and I initially liked that he did that. He thought speed seemed ok, LC was a bit off which probably meant he was civ, and I seemed like my normal self. Then, without any progression, he posted this later in response to Hyena:

He had not commented on any of the three of us between the two posts. I was especially surprised by LC who he had read as civ and now was number 1 most likely to be bad in Hyena's list. I did not like that he offered nothing as to how he got there from his earlier read list.

All in all the Mp7/nutella posts weighed more heavily in my decision but they weren't the only thing I saw that I didn't like.

The thing about Jack yesterday that kept me from putting him in my pile of people to consider for lynch was he told us it was his anniversary, so I attributed his limited contributions to that.

It did in Australian Country Murder Mystery where Jack was town and nutella was scum and he called it on Day 1.
