I can imagine you going to check if we're PPR, finding out we are, smashing your keyboard around a bit, coming back, and trying to play it cool.

:haha:
:p

Nah- I looked over the score setup before signing up and didn't recall seeing anything that indicated PPR. It probably didn't register in my head because it's half a point.

in a 14 team league, PPR, picking RBs round 1 is funny money.
But we're not PPR.

I almost won my first time, and I only signed up to play because a group needed an even number, so I said, "What the hell, sure."

Re: Syndicate Fantasy Football League 2015

I suppose I favor the approach I do in casinos because I actually like sitting down and playing cards, and you can't do that if you run out of money really quickly (true story: I have never once lost money to a casino :D ), but these fantasy deals are one-shot affairs- no sitting at the table drinking cocktails and bantering with the other players.

Re: Syndicate Fantasy Football League 2015

Obviously you're more likely to win in the DUs and 50/50s, but I find the bigger tournaments more appealing. I like the thrill of getting lucky that one time. ;)

That's contrary to my approach to casinos, where I like the games with the lowest house edges and I tend to stay far away from slot machines.

Re: Syndicate Fantasy Football League 2015

Off-topic:

Has anyone ever played any of those weekly fantasy games where you pay an entry fee, pick a team, and try to get like in the top 25%-50% of the players for a payout? Fan Duel is perhaps the most advertised, but Yahoo has rolled out their own version of this, and I think it might be something I would enjoy.

Any experience with this? How is it?

You will either need to be present for about an hour, or you can set up an auto-draft where you rank the players in the order you would want them and, if available, you'll draft those players.

MovingPictures07 wrote:So... I've never played fantasy football before. I know practically nothing about football. I am really busy as well, but I'm going to be taking a break from mafia for a little while after Recuritment IV and Angry Birds, since I think I've been overdue an official actual break, and it's been requiring so much emotional energy from me that I need to funnel back through my PhD work.

I still obviously really want to do something recreational with you folks that doesn't require nearly as much energy. How much do I need to know about the sport to have fun with this, do you think?
It doesn't matter what you know- Arian Foster will pull his hamstring, Cam Newton will get in a car accident, and Adrian Peterson will beat the shit out of his kid.
