Meta Knight's role changed when he was recruited:

You are mafia.

Each Night, you will imprison someone within your halberd and torture him or her until you learn your target's role ability. That individual will be blocked, but cannot be affected by any other Night actions.

Alternatively, you may carry out the Night KO.

King Dedede
As the King, you use your mallet to decide any ties.
Waddle Dee
Vanilla.
Waddle Doo
Vanilla.
Whispy Woods
Each Night give someone an apple to make his or her vote +1 the next Day. Once instead, give a Maxim Tomato, and that person cannot be KO’d that same Night.
Cappy
Your hat shields you from one vote cast against you each Day.
Scarfy
Your vote is worth 2 against anyone who voted against you the Day before.
Kracko
You use a lightning bolt to paralyze your victim, preventing him or her from acting at Night.
Poppy Bros. Jr.
You throw a bomb each Night. The explosion is so great is knocks your target off the poll.
Mr. Shine
Has BTSC with Mr. Bright. If Mr. Shine is KO’d, there will be a second Night in a row.

Has BTSC with Mr. Shine. If Mr. Bright is KO’d, there will be a second Day in a row.

Day 0, you select a player to join you in your effort to overthrow King Dedede. Your selection will be your partner.

Each Night, you inhale a victim, KOing him or her, and copy the victim’s ability to be used the next Night.

You are to build an army to man your Halberd. Each Night, you will compel someone to join your crew. In the end, you and your crew must outnumber the living for you to win. While you can win with other factions, bear in mind that:
If you are KO’d in the Day, King Dedede gains control of the Halberd, and will grant one member of your army freedom (meaning it won’t count in your total).
If you are KO’d in the Night, the Kirby faction gains control of the Halberd, and that gives Kirby knowledge of all roles you have on deck.
