I'm not voting Epi either, despite what felt like weird stuff against me, his logic seems really sound to me.

I would consider a vote for either FZ or Trice right now. FZ seems kind of all over the place, which does not seem in character. And trice has been caught snipping post and misrepresenting them. That is hardly civ behavior.

I'm voting Trice.

what

You asked if I had done this. I said no I have not. The reason I did not is that it would involve reading 20 pages of thread, but I already know aceofspades is probably bad from his behaviour following that point. Aceofspades also completely abandoned all those ideas immediately after mentioning them, so for all I know he just randomly pulled thoughts from other posters - meaning they likely have no connection to him and there is no point figuring out who it was.

It's pretty straightforward.

juliets wrote:Trice, I don't really understand what you are saying because your post refers to the past so supposedly aces had already pulled things from people who voted Light/L. I have to also add though that I thought Aces reasoning about baddies voting normal lynch made some sense to me and though I haven't yet I will take another look at who those people who voted that option. Not saying I totally believe it but his reasoning was solid I felt.

I went back and read both yours and Aces posts and came out of that experience feeling sure you had misrepresented what Aces said - several times in fact. I feel like Aces summed it all up when he said:
AceofSpaces wrote:Here is my Tl;dr

Trice started this day making a bunch of fluff post, then when I said I was suspicious of him he wigged out and responded in a manner consistent with mafia members (over defensive, using flimsy evidence to try and discredit me, taking my post out of context to conjure up a poor case)

Though I would prefer you took the time to read the whole case. I put a lot effort into it. :)
I did note in reading that you had some posts that weren't fluff posts proceeding his calling you out but there were enough fluff posts to make me uneasy.

My read is that you are bad and even though the evidence might not be overwhelming it's what I've got for today.

What?
I defend myself from DH/him, and at the same time level my own accusations, he responds by saying "im gonna lynch u now" instead of defending himself, what are you asking about? Aceofspades is:

L/Light supporter
low poster
sharing other people's ideas exclusively - without even going back to the original "suspicious" posts

it's not concrete but it's multiple pings - lynching baddies consistently is about either an obvious slip (there have been none yet by anybody) or behaviour recognition over the course of several days.

If I have time this evening I'll read back through the thread and determine which people aceofspades is pulling theories from (be nice if he had used quotes instead of barely rephrasing) - if they are similarly L/Light supporters with other pings, I'm probably on to something here.

As I said before, keeping an eye on people who do something isn't remotely the same thing as lynching somebody for doing something - which is what DH and AceOfSpades are bother trying to do. The game isn't the simplistic - not if you want to win. Flag it and continue playing, vote the players with the most flags.
Tricer did you ever do this? I did not see anything about it in your posts.
I didn't bother because his suspicion of me (taken directly from DH originally) was the only one he mentioned even a single other time this game.

BWT - I don't see why I'm "latching onto him" by discussing tons of things, but he's not "latching onto me" by making 80% of his posts about me. I didn't even vote for him.

Ricochet wrote:Finally finished catching up after being away for two and a half hours. Took me only 30 minutes.

The harrowing part is that I should re-read one more time the Ace-Trice banter, because Trice is still probably my top candidate today (D0 behaviour + a few things on D1 that binged me like charging spacedaisy by stripping all her posts/behaviour of contest and a few instance of misrepresenting Ace's views in his banter with him; he's fighting to the bitter end with him, alright, but I think it's more than a opposite-spectrum feud between them and I still suspect Trice more than seeing Ace hunting with an agenda).

Snowman also really pinged me today if he seriously believes this is a game where nothing has happened so far and not much can be made to suspect anyone so far. In contrast to Bass (whose vote and the fact that he called it random is more damning, while his lack of activity isn't as much), Russ or others, he's liekly my profile of baddie skimming everything and wanting to lay low right now.

christ @ amount of linki
note that I didn't actually accuse spacedaisy of anything, I merely said "if you follow rob's train of thought, here's the quotes backing it." I haven't mentioned daisy as a suspicion since that point at all.

I still hold firm that I haven't misrepresented anything ace said. I strongly believe that he is claiming that because he doesn't appreciate his baddie motivations being noticed and called out.

Facts remain:
-Ace doesn't think L/Light Day 0 vote is a valid reason to be suspicious of anybody when he voted for it, and he claims baddies lay low while making uncharacteristic efforts to not lay low. Textbook self-preservation.
-I am literally the only person that Ace has analyzed or actively harbored suspicions for, whereas I am noting suspicions everywhere else while explaining my case on him. I want baddies dead, he just wants me dead, otherwise he would be participating in the discussions around Russ and TH and Epignosis and anybody else.

FZ. wrote: I don't know what to think about Trice and Aces, because everyone seems to see Trice as bad, and maybe I'm missing something.
Not really, 3-4 people at most have actually said they think I'm bad. Like I said earlier, all ace has to do is repeat the same lie long enough for people to start believing it. Note that bass (at least claims to have) randomized onto me.

I've been asking more questions because ace gave up responding to me, so I can focus on more important things - finding all the other baddies too. As I outlined before, somebody with a total one track mind like aceofspades this game isn't so much of a threat to the detective cause. It appears to me that detectives don't need to be alive to win, so if my death is what it takes for the other civs to listen to me, it's for the best.

Nothing personal but I don't see why anybody would bother trying to flatter one person, in a game of 27 what is that going to accomplish?

boo - I don't know about BWT. I've played a lot of a games with him and it seems to me he is almost always behaving like this, regardless of alignment. So it's hard to tell. He almost always jumps around suspicions seemingly randomly

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

it's not misquoting. If baddies won't vote for L/Light, then by extension civs must have been the ones voting for it - according to your logic. A child could make that connection. Who the hell else would be voting it? Somebody voted for it.

I know that at this point you aren't going to argue, it's because you still have nothing of value to accuse me of.

Oh another funny thing aceofspades, you have posted several times about how baddies lay low, but you are exclusively targeting somebody who is not laying low at all - and you are also making a lot of effort this game to not lay low yourself (against your character, a couple people have pointed out). There are so many logical inconsistencies there I don't know where to begin... but I think the main takeaway is that once again, as with the day 0 vote, you are trying to claim that baddie behavior is whatever you don't do

Essentially, he want to leave someone he thinks is bad alive indefinitely.
That and, if he's going to vote randomly with no justification every day, even if he's a civ he's a detriment to the civ cause. It sounds bad for me to point that out, but it's true.

I will note that the detective team does not say anything about being alive in the win conditions, so if TH is a baddie good but if he's a civ it barely makes a difference if he's not going to help us lynch baddies

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

AceofSpaces wrote:For those looking for the spark notes version of why Trice should be lynched today, I'll present you with the main points.

1. During the day 0 poll Trice made a remark that, I believe, was meant to divert attention to a large group of possible scape goats while Trice remained under the radar.
2. The majority of Trice's post thereafter were joke post, without any real content or effort to contribute. Once again reinforcing the idea that he wanted to fly under the radar. It was only after I brought him up as a suspect that he became active.
3. I mentioned my suspicion of Trice twice at the beginning of day 1. Once in an outline of my starting thoughts for the day, and again in a short response to Trice in which I pointed out he was relying on the "no u" style of defense. After these mentions, Trice has grown increasingly defensive.
4. Rather than defending himself, he has resorted to misquoting me and accusing me, or anyone else who finds him suspicious, of being mafia. He's backed up his claims through blatant misrepresentation of what I've said.
5. He continues to ignore the evidence against him. Instead deciding it's best to dismiss my case as "a joke".

So in summery, he is behaving exactly as any mafia who's been caught and called out would behave.
1. How many times do I have to go over this? Lynching baddies consistently requires pattern recognition. As I've already explained ad-nauseum, L/Light voting would have been almost guaranteed to favour the kira team, and therefore one of the "flags" to look for in people is that they voted for it. That is not even remotely the same thing as trying to divert attention exclusively to those voters, as you are constantly trying to claim
2. That's an outright lie
3. 80% of your post content since day 1 started focuses exclusively on me. If you can handle the kitchen, stay out of glass houses. I've responded to your unhealthy fixation on me in a reasonable way - by pointing out the numerous inconsistencies in your posts.
4. I don't see how explaining the underlying logic of your faulty arguments qualifies as misquoting you. I don't believe I've misrepresented anything you've said, but the only response you actually offer to any of my accusations is "no u" - while simultaneously trying to claim that's what I'm doing
5. WHAT EVIDENCE? The "case" which you said you put tons of effort into, literally consisted of a) trice made two posts less than a minute apart clarifying his word choice and b) I think these three random posts trice made were useless fluff

So in summary, you've still completely ignored my last 2 posts about you. I think it's because you have no response, because you know I'm right.

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

wonder if TH just didn't know where to put his suspicions and did a throwaway vote. Llama is one of the people that seems ok to me, nobody else seems to really be targeting him either

linki - FZ - do you think so? To the Kira it should not matter if they are depicted as good, because they can NK them either way. In fact it's better for the Kira if Yotsuba are treated as bad, because it dilutes the possible lynch target pool

Linki - LC - I haven't voted yet, there are still hours and hours left in the day

I should really start quoting the people I respond to, I am frequently not getting linki when there are posts before me

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

well there is the danger of yotsuba trying to lead lynches against civs instead of against Kiras

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

I mean, it truly would remove any doubt if Russ starts posting insanified posts for day 2

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

I can think of a few reasons for TH to not want to vote for somebody he thinks is bad

1) TH is bad and doesn't want to kill a teammate
2) TH is bad and knows that's not his teammate, but doesn't want to be involved with lynching a civ
3) TH threw out a random idea he doesn't even believe

anyone got other theories?

FWIW, I never made the connection before that the strict daily regimen thing would mean posting challenges, but it seems possible now that it's been pointed out

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

Oh and nice work completely ignore everything I pointed to you there Ace. Who is going "no u" again?

Your entire game has been attacking a person who accused you, same thing you claim I'm doing. 9 out of 12 of your Day 1 posts are about me only, and one other is partially about me. Talk about a one track mind. You seem to be going to the ol' "if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes truth" strategy.

You are also vehement that L/Light voters cannot possibly be a place to look for baddie players, convenient enough since it's your vote

And the only real accusation you leveled at me is that I post too much too quickly, which makes me a baddie for... some reason?

Re: Death Note Mafia [DAY 1]

Hope y'all don't buy the bandwagon attempt, let's actually lynch some baddies instead.

If my "defense" is "insubstantial" it's because it's only as strong as Ace's accusations

linki - hope the drive was nice

Oh and if Epig thinks Russ might be Rem, the role sounds like it can't be lynched anyway
"cannot be harmed by humans"

There are three Shinigami who have that in their role descriptions, but only one person has not posted, so I do not think the theory that Russ cannot post because he is a Shinigami is tenable.

That doesn't mean that there isn't another role mechanic keeping him from posting. There likely is.
Multiple people (at least 3 at a glance) have not posted at all since day 0, so it would depend on if the power was in effect day 0 as well. But yes, I see now you're right.

Either way, if epignosis believes Russ is either Rem or Misa because of the show's lore, that's a 50-50 shot at being unlynchable (if I'm correct about the role power)

S~V~S wrote:I disagree, a spread out non focused vote is more likely to net a civvie, IMO.

It is my experience that the very vocal players are more likely to lynch each other than blendy middle of the pack players. But normally, we have a group that can play a fairly aggressive BSD game. But with these mechanics I think fading back s bit the first few days while the thread is distracted by all the one on one would be a pretty effective strstegy for baddies.
Isn't that what I said yesterday? The baddies are probably all sitting there and laughing while civs try to kill each other, ensuring a baddie victory
