Re: [DAY 14] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

Wow. That's fairly impressive then. I guess that confirms the idea that Fetus is dead then. Yay civvies!

This is a tough decision, but I'm going to be in the minority it looks, and go with boom. Mostly because I think his win condition was much harder to fulfill, and with him being a newer player. I think both bea and boom played like Champions in this game for sure though.

Alex, if this is the easiest way for you to end it, then I'm fine with that. And I'm sure all of us are. It was a very exciting, unique game!

I'm leaning towards not pushing them honestly. While I think each one corresponds to one of us, I don't want to take the risk of trying to get Boomslang with it and catching one of the other 3 of us instead. So I vote no pushing.

Alex, in the words of Courage Wolf, you need to climb the highest mountain and punch the face of God. That is complete bs (even though I know it's out of anyone's control) that the weather has messed up your campus visit twice now. If you weren't in the middle of tax season, I would recommend you just drive down to Tallahassee at this rate lol. But yeah, as FH said, don't even worry about the game until you can get yourself situated again! You have more important things to take care of anyway.

Re: [NIGHT 13] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

BIH Elo! Glad to see you go! Hoping Hedge was up to no good, but now I'm starting to think she wasn't.

So either one of two things will occur with the packages:

1) Each number corresponds to 1 of the 4 of us. If the number that represents any of the 4 of us is pressed, that person explodes and dies.

2) Same as before. But instead, each person explodes if the button is NOT pressed.

At least that's what I would conjecture. So if that's the case, I think the 4 of us need to agree to all do the same thing. So either we all push our buttons or none of us do.

Now as for which Sock would do, I'll have to think about that one. Anyone else with other ideas is more than welcome to discuss them too.

Re: [NIGHT 11] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

I'm not buying the baddie teams merging thing. In my almost 5 years of playing mafia, I have NEVER been in a game where that has happened. In fact, if someone has been in a game where that's occurred, I would like to know what game it is. Because while I'm sure it's possible, I've never, ever seen it happen before from what I remember.

I'm surprised no one else mentioned it, but I could see bea being Creeper and targeting herself when she had the shield. She survives a nightkill attempt and possibly gains massive civvie cred for it. I used that exact same strategy in Electronic Mafia. DP was on my indy team, and I protected him on the same night when we chose to target him for a NK. One of the baddie teams also happened to target him that same night, and he gained massive civvie cred from that. Enough that we won the game because of it.

So regardless of whether bea had the shield or not, she could still be Creeper for all we know. And I think the only way we will find out at this point is to lynch her. Which is fine since I'm pretty firmly convinced she's bad, and will vote for her until one of us dies.

I go to take a short nap, and I wake up after the lynch is over. Awesome.... :( Probably would have gone for Mongoose though.

Sorry if we genuinely frustrated you, btw. I don't think it was anyone's intent. But it does make me think it more likely that Elo is Cohen now.

I think bea temporarily fooled me. When day comes around again, I will most likely vote for her. I wouldn't be surprised if her voting bloc was involved in pushing for Elo at this point.

I don't like this. Feels too much like you're dismissing one ping, but accepting another? I think that's how I want to phrase it but not sure.

I will say I'm not quite torn between you, Elo, and Mongoose. I don't think Elo pointing out the whole Epig not defending her thing helps her case that much. But I've also seen her in similar situations before, voted for her, and seen her lynched and come up civvie. So idk.

And for Mongoose, I don't buy the part about the timing of her votes being dumb luck. But on the other hand, I can see her going along with other players she trusts (I've done that a lot in the past and I've tried really hard the last few games to stop doing that and going with my own ideas). My problem with that though is that 2 of the 3 people she claims to have trusted (DH and Epig) are 2 I do not feel good about anymore.

I'm really torn right now, but probably either Elo or Mongoose will get my vote. I can't see myself voting DFaraday outside of him self-revealing and having a baddie role. I don't feel comfortable enough there yet.

Interesting insights there, Hedge. I think that might shoot Mongoose up slightly for me in suspicion. I would like to hear from her though before committing, but it gives credence to the fact that she might either be PP or on his team. If she is PP, maybe she talked about the role a lot earlier to cast doubt on her possibly being slotted for that role?

FH, that post from you feels a bit more genuine to me. So I will probably knock you off my list for today. Still unsure about DFaraday.

Alright, so according to what MP just told me, if Fetus were to die before I made him vulnerable, I would not be made aware of it. So it is entirely possible that he is dead, but I don't feel comfortable going with that assumption until I either find him or MP informs us that his team has been eliminated.

Linki: That is also a possibility. Because they'd have to waste at least 2 NKs in order to make me vulnerable and a third one to finish me off. And that's assuming I didn't have another unexplainable protection take effect.

In that case, baddies, please feel free to try and kill me tonight. Kthx.

Re: [DAY 11] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

Also, since I haven't done this yet, a list!

bea: Was convinced she was bad, now unsure.

Boomslang: Unsure

DFaraday: Unsure. Him making a comment to FH about being quiet when he's one to talk concerns me a bit.

Elo: I'd honestly forgotten she was still playing. Someone I would consider voting for today.

FH: Unsure. I do feel she has been a bit quiet though

Hedge: Unsure. Another one where I sometimes forget she's still alive and playing.

Lizzy: Civvie

Mongoose: Unsure

Nev: Strongly lean civvie

SD: Unsure. Another one who's been too quiet for my tastes.

SVS: Civvie

Timmer: Unsure

If I had to vote for somebody now at gunpoint, it would probably be SD, Elo, or Hedge. Any of the 'unsure' ones are ones where someone would have to make a case (or I'd have to see something in the thread) to convince me to vote for them.

Well MP is still asking me nightly to search for him, so I would assume he's still alive because of that.

Linki: That is true. I still have 2 more lives to spare, and I die when the third one is extinguished. I guess my main concern is that the baddies might try and target me every single night to get rid of me. But even if I were dead and Fetus were still "invulnerable", I would imagine there would either be a way around that or other ways he could die other than being NKed.

Ehhhhh, might as well go ahead and mention it. I only need to find him one more time, and I currently have a 50% chance of finding him every night. So the odds dictate that I should find him on either Night 11 or Night 12.

RIP BDH! :( Not really sure why you went out the way you did though, even if it was what you wanted... :/

LOL I will readily admit that I am coasting through this game. I'm so busy IRL that I'm usually lucky if I have the time to catch up in this game. It's also why you haven't seen me really make a case against anyone yet. And unfortunately, I would not expect that to change anytime soon. I had more free time earlier on, but now not so much.

I hate doing that too. Especially because I consider it very un-champion-like. But it is what it is. It's either that or that I ask to be replaced, and given how far we are into the game, I think asking for a replacement is a bit too much. So I'll muster through what I can.

Alex, this is an absolutely fantastic game! Don't let yourself get down by other people's opinions. I know you're a fantastic host, and that sometimes with hosting games, you have to make decisions that are sometimes unpopular/controversial. All you can do from here is go on!

It's possible that he's done at least some basic/ground-level research about the different places. He never puts anything in a game without it having a purpose. The only time I've ever seen him do otherwise is occasional Day 0 polls.

RIP no one. Although based on the night post, it sounds like it might be bea or Vomps. We'll find out I guess.
bea wrote:btw - 10 - 1 a) if you guys lynch teefies - he'll be on the creeper team or b) he'll go after devin next. :D
1) I won't be on the creeper team. I'll be revealed as a civvie.
2) I have no reason to go after Devin. I think he's a terribly misguided civvie.

@Devin: Say I were to be lynched and revealed to be a civvie. Where would you look next?

Linki: Exactly. It probably means Zodac will be deciding between the two of them.

Re: [DAY 7] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

Sorry I can't respond to every little thing all of you post. I'm ri-donk-ulously busy lately. Most days I'm getting home from work and I'm too tired to do much with mafia other than catch up, because mentally I can't think of anything intelligent to add to the conversation. If that's going to be your justification for voting for me, then go for it. It'll backfire on you.

Also, sorry if that sounds cranky. It isn't directed at any one person specifically and I don't want it to be taken offensively. I actually AM really tired right now lol.

I can see the cases on bea, Vomps, llama, and juliets. Out of those 4 though, I think bea is the one most likely to die if we lynch her. Plus BDH coming in and saying we shouldn't vote for her for some super-secret reason was what tipped the scale for me. If he had come in and said something along the lines of, "I can read bea well, and I think she's civvie", then it would have given me pause. But I'm not willing to put blind trust into someone I'm unsure about. Sorry if I'm wrong here.

Votes bea

Re: [DAY 7] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

First off, RIPIYWG to everyone who died. That was a lot of death. As to anyone wondering how I survived, I don't know. I thought it had to do with my role, but according to MP, I was indeed saved by someone. So I appreciate whoever did so.

I would be okay with a Vomps, juliets, or bea vote today. I could see all of them being bad, but I think going for juliets first will give us the most information. Mostly because I think it will confirm whether or not bea is indeed one of her teammates. I would pick her over the other two because if bea is who we think she is, then we wouldn't gather much from her death except having her gone. And Vomps is a bit more "avant-garde" with his playstyle.

So in order, I am most willing to vote for:

1. juliets
2. bea
3. Vomps

Also, to whoever said that DH and I had an "encounter", could you point out where? Because that's news to me.

Well I made a case against Lizzy and she was good.

And I made a case against DP and he was good.
Which proves my point. You're either bad or terribly misguided/off the mark. Just like you are with me.

When will you actually do this so I can dismantle your case?
You're like that annoying little fly that gets in my house on a nice, spring day. You're buzzing around is annoying and irritating, and I get some newspaper or a flyswatter for when the time is right. But right after you come in, my dog shits on the carpet. So you become a secondary thought.

Yes, there is a message there. But you can interpret it as you see fit. I will say that if you lynch me, it very well could convince people to listen to me.
I see that you've substituted a sixth-grade metaphor and a fourth-grade threat for what should have been a case.

If not, then train your dog to shit outside, clean up after yourself as to not attract flies, and if you want people to listen to you, use the Big Boy Voice.
In that case, you didn't see the point I'm trying to make.

I meant that you're always there in the back of my mind, but the problem is that I often see a better case end up coming along. Which means I vote for someone else over you.

This was very enlightening though. It reminded me that I should always pursue my strongest suspicion either until I die or they do. And I do believe I will last longer than you unless you have a neat bag of tricks up your sleeve.

If I vote for vomp and you vote for vomp, neither of us will have to save ourselves?
I would consider this, especially since I don't think you're bad. And Vomps going along with Lizzy again doesn't sit right with me.

If it becomes a possibility, I would be willing to go for Vomps. But for right now, I would still slightly lean towards Epig.

Overlap so far: bea, bwt, dp, epig. Can't be dp - we got a role reveal that would have mentioned it.

Now, if last night's attempt was real and bob, all three of those remaining suspects were voted for Day 5.
That leads me to the conclusion that last night's attempt must not have been bob - either it was Jack or a lie.

(I'd appreciate someone going over my lists to make sure I didn't miss anyone - set intersection by hand is error-prone).
RIP Aces! Sorry we were wrong about you! :(

I would lean more towards it being a lie, specifically because it was written into the night post, but then MP didn't mention anything about it at the end of his post. If there had been "Juliets survived a kill attempt..." or something similar, I could see it being Jack.

But then again, I would peg that ability to The Sinister Exaggerator. So either someone has a similar ability, was able to copy his, or when AP was killed, his role reveal wasn't true. So I'm not sure where to go with that from here.

I'm in between mostly Aces and Vomps. I'm not buying the flimsy excuses for gleam at all. Going to go with Aces for now. Him leading the lynch against Lizzy is another interesting fact too.

Aces, bea, and Daisy are the 3 people on this poll who voted for Kate. I would be willing to vote for any of those 3 for sure, and could probably vote Vomps too if someone brought a good enough case against him.

Okay, enough with the philosophical bullshit. :P Is it still the same reasons you mentioned before, or is there something else that has you further convinced I'm bad?

Also (and I would direct this question to anyone who has/will consider voting for me), what do you think of Epig?

I'm actually perfectly fine with the result of that, given I'm still unsure about llama. Although given Nev's breakdown, it sounds like voting for him would be good for civs. But there's no guarantee he would die either, so I'll probably hold off on him for now.

I think Epig is still my #1 priority though. And I will most likely be voting him again tomorrow.

Re: [DAY 5] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

Some interesting points there about llama, Mongoose. But right now, I feel more confident about another suspect.

I said I was willing to give him the BotD earlier unless something else came up, but I think with last night's results, it did. I think we can add in "Epig conjecturing on events he had inside information on" to a good enough reason for me to vote for him. So I will be placing my vote there.

That being said, I think there is a very good chance llama could be bad to. I just have a bit more confidence in baddie Epig than baddie llama right now is all.
