Still reading from where I left off, blah blah blah, baddies trying to hide, I think SVS is a teammate of borok since she is defending his nonsense or complete ignorance. Either way.

Also, the first thing I did when I logged on was vote borok.

All the time. And they don't see it because they have that knowlege in their heads. I've been lynched as a civ more than once because of the "well, x person knows how to read Bea really well." and they are convinced I'm bad. I may have just had a bad night at work, I may have just had 2 too many glasses of :wine: before I pulled myself off the computer. Their heads could have been in a different place. They could have been baddies using my playstyle against me. Lots of things go wrong by relying too much on what a people have done in the past. New ideas and new perspectives help us who play across several forums with the same group of people over and over again in our place. Keep thinking and keep posting!
Thanks for this, it's encouraging at a point in the game where I hit a slump.

Also, I just realized that you can view ALL of a player's posts in one thread. Amazing. Wish I would have discovered this earlier!

Oi! I'm at work and fortunately doing a monotonous task that I can simultaneously have this tab open, however, I must be brief and vote now. The network here is acting spotty and I fear losing the internet. Out printers here in the printing and mailing department are not wanting to print...and the share drive is inaccessible.

My tone deaf co-worker is singing. I am irritable. The weekend couldn't come fast enough!

I am voting borok for because I am irritable, lack of posts from him, and because he said this: "Man, I am so behind. I wish I had the time to read over all of the pages of posts so I can figure out who I hate. I guess the safest option now is to hate everyone and vote at random, eh?"

Just curious, since I am really unsure of what to make of him. He has said more than a few statements throughout the game that have been gross inaccuracies... And while I could see a Baddie or civvie being confused or faking confused, I want other input on this matter.

That is all I have to say for now.
I suspected borokkuei earlier in the game. I read his posts as forced and false confusion mixed with flippant remarks to which he replied he was a flippant person. Baddie? I think there is a chance. #2 You don't post much. When you do, content is severely lacking.

Borok is bad. I think the bullz bandwagon is a diversion!
This just makes me think that you and BDH are on a team together, but I really don't have any information to back that up. Why is he "clearly good"?

I definitely post more than some of the other players. My posts lack content because I'm bad at reading people on the internet.

Bullz isn't a diversion-- I'd obviously vote for dom if he were still on the poll.
Yes, the CIVVIE team.

You obviously don't pay attention to the SB email or you would know what I am referring to with BDH.

I would have voted Timmer. He seems like he's faking it to me. Ever since he said he was leaning toward me being a civvie a little ways back I have been a bit wary. At first I thought: "Yay! A fellow civvie who trusts me!" But now I am thinking he might be one to :eye:

Does that make sense? Even info roles can speculate incorrectly. Maybe I'll look back and see what his posts sounded like, and how certain/reliable his suspicions may be.
So I'm not CBK, but I'll jump on this. MP was Silent Rip - The expert in recon on the Cheat Commando Squad, he can wire someone's home each night, allowing him to learn something about them from their conversation, though it may not give a clear answer regarding their role or alignment.... Informed speculation. It's more than I've got! I am with CBK and say we try to see what he was telling us.

also, in the sense of finding a quiet, frequently absent player who could be trogdor, I'll point to DFaraday and DP who I haven't seen much of anything from in my read through yet. Also, leamiteo. he (she?) has gone long stretches between posts, so maybe they could have missed some PMs, however, his (her?) posts sound fairly civvie, whereas DP and DF have been more neutral.

Also, Vompatti doesn't seem to be contributing much beyond the word ture, which I'm sad to have to ask is a deliberate misspelling of true?

Anyway, more and hopefully more helpful posts tomorrow.
Hi timmer! I'm a she. :) Also, you are correct in your read on me. That makes me feel like I can trust you. I hope!

I have spent time at work catching up on what I missed this weekend. Looks like more of the finger flinging at MP, wishy-washy to llama or not to llama, and what is/was Bullz affiliation.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 4]

Daisy, that was a great video clip, ha! I'm sad to see you gone, Hedge. This does not help me in distinguishing good from bad! I just knew that somebody would get hurt in that tangled mess of finger pointing.

Sorry if I'm repeating something stated earlier in the thread, I'm ten pages behind ( :sigh: So. Much. Reading. To. Do.) but I don't think that there is any strong evidence to be gleaned from the voters of Hedge alone that would lead us back to a baddie. I think at this point going hard after someone who voted Hedgeowl might result in another civvie being lynch. Not good. However, I do think it's a good idea to keep an eye on the voters to see if we spot any fishy behavior.

Not too much to add at this point. Deductions to come once I'm caught up.

I'm off to bed and will catch up later with rested eyes. :offtobed:

I'm still seven pages behind but have to vote now. I'm voting for Dom for repeated suspicion of MP and behavior that seems just a little off to me. I'm not all the way decided on MP, but I"m also not feeling 100% about anybody at this early stage.

Ha ha! I feel you. I got the general sense. ;)

It turns out my friend was only coming into town for one night. That's what you get from relying on information you thought you fully understood while simultaneously texting and trying to nap :D Sooo..here I am!

SVS, welcome to the madness that is this game! Llama, wow. Great job with the synopsis!

I would add what I said back before the lynch:

I have no clue who to believe because of all the finger pointing and you-must-be-bad-oh-wait-no-I-think-you-might-be-good talk. It takes me a while to gather and hash out my thoughts...if I come up with anything else worth sharing I'll certainly chime in.

In the meantime, happy reading! Take breaks to stretch your legs and walk around. :p

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 2]

Wow. Well this turn of events just made things more interesting, not that they were boring to begin with. I am curious to see who won't make it through the night and what we will be able glean from that. Not that I want to see anyone die, mind you, it's just that tonight's result has the potential to be very telling. Thank goodness it's not up to me!

I'm most likely going to be quiet over the weekend. Please don't post ten pages!!! A friend from out of town is visiting and we have a lot of catching up to do and hanging out with mutual friends. Luckily I got a good dose of introverted solace during the week! My weekends have been full of social interactions lately.

I actually quite enjoy reading your perspective (as well as BDH's) because here's the down side to "well...this always happens blah blah blah) 1) While everyone does have tells, anyone who wants to keep playing usually changes them as soon as they find out what they are. and 2) People are wrong.

This seems really flippant to me and it may earn you my vote. There are a few people who after some time will eventually post and I think to myself, "Wait, where did they come from?" I don't know who I'm voting for at this point, but be warned! :eye:

I am wary of all the llama, MP, Mongoose, vompy, Hedgeowl talk. It has my head spinning and makes me feel as if there are baddies that are latching onto the suspicions, trying to blend in with civvies in by defending themselves and others, meanwhile supporting theories that would divert the attention from themselves.

That being said, I have some reading to do in order to decide where my vote should go. I have been hesitant to post my thoughts on players others than those listed above because honestly, I'm really bad at keeping things strait/navigating the forum. I'm getting better as I familiarize myself, and if I am able to build an founded argument against anyone I will. I'm with CBK on the not trusting all the veteran jargon about who is playing what kind of game. In a way I feel handicapped as it has tended to silence me when I want to contradict something but feel like I don't have the same kind of insight.

I'm off to read through the thread in effort to get my bearings. Tonight is bowling night! Depending on what time I get home I may not post again tonight since I don't have internet at my house.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 2]

BigDamnHero wrote:Strong sad's poem really doesn't make much sense UNLESS that last line had the typo. I mean if he wanted to talk about Bullzeye why not just say the name instead of "target" (they both have the same syllable count and every line, save for the last, each has 3 syllables and the last line has 6) and what the hell would "I think in the target" mean anyway? Does he find some sort of mental nirvanna while shopping at the local retailer?

And I don't mean to be rude or insulting in ANY way shape or form, but you didn't even proofread your own post above when you wrote "Don't you think Strongsad, who has the opportunity to submitted something for the thread would proof read?". I'm simply pointing out that nobody here is exempt from making typing errors. Plus you also have to realize that there is absolutely no punctuation in the poem at all...periods, commas, apostrophe's or otherwise. So I would read it as follows:

All this talk.
Who is who?
What is what?
Where are bad (guys)?
I think I'M the target.

By following this model, I believe it sends a precise, clear message from the author.
All this talk
(There was a lot of discussions taking place during day1)
Who is who
(I have suspects as to who is what role)
What is what
(I don't know any other specifics about this game)
Where are bad
(Doesn't begin to know who could be an enemy)
I think in the target
(He fears he's in danger from the bad guys)

That's just my own personal analysis. In the end, it doesn't entirely matter much because there aren't a whole lot of details in this quasi-haiku, and even if I'm wrong about thepoem, Bullzeye is dead anyway so suspicions about his alliegences are pretty much moot at this point.
Thanks for the clarification. I was just curious both you and BWT felt so strongly that it was a indeed a typo. This makes sense to me.

Also, yeah, no offense taken. I've been really bad at proofreading. I usually only have a few minutes to hash out a post with my internet situation. I keep a separate tab open, adding and editing threads of unrelated topics...and I fail to adequately proofread. This particular instance was a lazy oversight, I have secure internet at the moment and I'm not at work. :D

So assuming this theory holds water, any ideas about who would be telling us they think they are being targeted?

This is plausible. You're allowed to speculate, don't stop. Because if you become quiet you'll become a target for being quiet. XD

Ah. The way I read it in the description, it sounded like they would actually do it in the thread. Derp.
I thought the same thing initially. Guess not! That would be waaay to easy to identify him. Hmm, maybe Strongsad is the one who speaks in prose.
I voted for Bullz and therefore immediately associated "target" with him, but perhaps that's just because in my own mind I was already thinking "baddie". I don't know though and I guess we'll find out in time.

I find it interesting that BWT and BDH both posited that "in" was in fact a typo in Strongsad's poem. :ponder: Don't you think Strongsad, who has the opportunity to submitted something for the thread would proof read? And if it were a typo, wouldn't it make sense that there would have been an apostrophe? However, as was mentioned before, we don't know that Strongsad has any information, so perhaps it is just a person who suspected Bullz and vocalized it in the thread?

I guess I am confused about why you feel that it was a typo? Do either of you, BWT or BDH, care to give any more insight on that?

I hope you weren't civvies Bullz and Kate! What does it mean that the SK chose the Warrior Hut? There were only three people in it...the SK works alone right? So Trogdor wouldn't know the alignment of anyone else. What is the goal of the SK? Kill everyone off? I'm kind of stumbling along as I go, thanks for bearing with me, all.

OK, that's all for now. :offtobed:

Re: Homestar Runner [Night 1]

Is it possible that those who received info from the day 0 poll received info about the huts? I have no clue what that info would be, and as I said before, I myself received no info.

OK, so now I'm thinking aloud here; I know the huts are random, but perhaps the different huts have different special things about them, perhaps the names have certain meanings? Warrior versus Medicine Man = fight off TROGDOR! versus hang out with the guy that could cure you? Ha! Can you be cured or rather restored from ashes? Ha ha! OK, so this might be totally not right at all but it was a little light bulb that went off in my head that may just be a silly theory to nothing.

I will be very surprised if the SK doesn't choose the Medicine Man hut. However, it may be logical to choose another hut because if you deduced that the SK would choose the one with the most people hiding in it, then it may be wise to choose another hut. Perhaps..unless the SK chooses one with few people to target civvies, since I assume the baddies will want to cluster with the majority/civvies. I can really see it either way.

At first I found it really curious that people would branch off to other huts, but now I think I may be regretting my decision to go along with the safety in numbers...I have terrible luck and would hate to be burninated on the first night. :stare:

And now my computer is going to die and I'm late for a grill out.

I'm agreeing with those who say safety in numbers and going with the Medicine Man's Hut.

I'm going with my one of my first suspicions/pings, though perhaps unwarranted in the midst of all the day 0 theorizing. As Mongoose said a lot of people who I though pinged me unpinged themselves. Alex, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I just recently went through this same thing and know how much it sucks. :sigh:
Hedgeowl wrote:MP is often in the unfortunate situation of getting lynched early because he posts actively. Creates a lot for people to latch onto easily. I am learning to recognize these players and give them the botd for a day. There are at least 4 players in this game who have had this happen to them too often as well. Nothing about his turnaround pings me. It was a lot to read, but logically it made sense at the time.

At this point I don't think we need others to share because we did learn something about the poll. Individuals got info about what they needed to win and the option that won got specific info as a prize. That's it. We can't really know more than that.

After all this my list of players not to vote for is getting pretty long.
Ok, thanks for this! It's helpful for a first time player. :D
Spacedaisy wrote:Ok guys, you should know me better than to think I would do something that would out civs. Both civs and baddies received info in this poll. Day 0 polls are intended to generate discussion and it has done exactly that.
I would just like to say, I was right in my assumption that both sides got info. This makes me suspicious of those who overly said only the six civvies got it....meaning they were baddies? But I guess it just means they weren't those six specific roles...so maybe they were just hoping to get help from civvie compatriots.

@MP - as I said my suspicions went back and forth like a ping-pong ball match. Bullz was the one that stuck out in my mind but honestly can't remember why now. I haven't had time to re-read. I will hopefully get to catch up a little before work...or at work and then vote. :D I will try to jog my memory, but I seriously should have written stuff down because I can't remember. All the names are swirling together. Plus I'm tired and may have been drinking a little bit with some friends tonight....what can I say, I'm a light weight.

Don't kill Captain Bunny Killer! She is a good friend (in real life!) of mine, and I would LOVE to play this game with her. Also, she has been busy with the GRE. Give her a break. If she's a baddie, I want to kill her myself, bahahaha! :ohyeah:
