Re: Homestar Runner [Day 13]

Thanks, Bea! Ha, I may have a hard time suspecting you, since you kinda took me under your wing, but I'll try to keep this game in mind. I learned a lot this game, and I think now I might be hooked! Although, I really need to take a break for now. The work load of my last semester and applying to grad schools means I really need to buckle down.

True!
Is it normal for there to be THAT many ways that someone could not die? or at least that many times that it actually happened? I was so confused, bc it made the blocking power almost useless as far as providing info in the beginning.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 13]

Thanks, MP! So so SO sorry I joined against you! Oh, man. I was really overwhelmed at the beginning of the game and missed the whole looking for someone who comments on the people I was choosing to listen to. I just didn't have the ability to follow through with that at that time. And then everyone kind of poopooed finding anything useful in your posts after you were gone, so I guess they kind of got buried.

I wasn't sure how to feel at the beginning of the game with powers I couldn't see the result of and no one I could trust, but I really enjoyed it by the end! Glad I stuck through for my first full game. :D

Re: Homestar Runner [Night 12]

Actually, it looks like SVS got as many votes as DP, but the winner was Vompatti. All 3 turned out to be baddies not on a blue laser team. And the votes were pretty spread out comparatively, with one known laser voting for Vompatti and another for SVS. I'm not sure how conclusive this one vote would be.

Snowy, there was never a "case" on me. SVS kept tossing my name around, that's it. And she drummed up lynches/suspicion against all kinds of people, because as we know now it didn't matter who she killed - as long as it wasn't her. If you have a question, I'm happy to answer it though.

I'm planning on moving forward with my theory. It makes a lot of sense to me. (But of course that's why I came up with it! XD )
Not so fast, Indi. I definitely brought up supsicion of you quite independently from SVS. I have been willing to give you a bit of room, but this makes me wary still. Anticipating that someone will ask for more on that, I don't have time now. I'm chasing other rabbits right now, and I have a TON of RL stuff to do today. Again, I'm not saying much about this, because it's not top priority, but I don't like how you're trying to slough this off as purely SVSish.

Wow. Ok. Well, after I've been gone all day at school and then grocery shopping, the voting is pretty much done. As I've said before, I am really unsure about all this. I have not written off the possibility that SVS is bad, but I also feel like there is something else going on. And there probably is, since, if she is bad, the other baddies would be all for pushing this. Since I still can't shake my suspicion of Indi and AP, I'm going to pick one of them.

I'm trying to get people to discuss before we just lynch someone. We're getting to be much fewer, and no one else is really responding to elaborate on SVS or try to determine who the remaining lasers are (or is? I'm not sure what to make of some of borok's last discussions before the lynch).

I am really seriously torn. I feel like I need to go out on a limb here and say that I am not completely sure about SVS. I know I have suspected her on and off (and she has done the same with me :) ), but I am just not convinced anymore. I also still don't trust Indi as far as I could throw her. And the AP thing is just too weird to ignore. But I feel like I'm missing the mark somewhere with someone. I have just had way too many surprises in this game.

SVS, why did people begin seeing you as Trogdor? I think we're (or at least I am) beginning from the middle of the argument, the part where you responded to the original accusations. Anyone else have input?

YEEEESSSSSS!! phew! Ok, sorry for gloating, but that was harder than I expected.
So, the question is... Did borok still have teammates? I noticed, SVS, that you pointed out that he didn't seem to have BTSC. Either they weren't available, or they're dead and the only baddie left is Trogdor. Or both are left?
Oh man, I hope I live through the night.

Anyway, I began glancing through conversations even from a day or so ago (game days). The beginning of Day 8 is far back enough to already be revealing about who borok and timmer sided with or suspected or voted...

:sigh: I'm trying hard here, folks, for good reason. Yes, SVS, I came onto my argument strongly yesterday (the real one), because you were attacking me. When I first presented things against borok, I was keeping my word to present my reasons for thinking he's a good lead. And I even pointed out the drawback to my own argument. I don't think I'm being unreasonable. But I'm confused why you're reacting this way. You came out swinging for me, but wouldn't say anything specific about me except that I was pursuing borok. And you wouldn't say anything specific about borok either except in comparison to me. Look, I'm putting my neck on the line here. If I'm wrong, you guys will lynch me for sure, and I know the baddies already want me dead.

With that said, I believe borok is bad, and I don't see any even remotely convincing evidence otherwise.

I'm voting borok.

SVS lead the charge against Timmer which makes it look very unlikely she'd be a Blue Laser, and the Teen Girls are all dead so she can't be one of them.
Ok, after your response, SVS, I looked back. I had forgotten. So, since it's pointless to talk about either of us right now (unless you really want to start building a case two days out) and you don't agree about borok ... We might just have to agree to disagree.

I certainly have considered him as a possible baddie teammate recently, but frankly I'm unsure. It doesn't seem to make sense that a baddie would run so hard after Bullz only to be very obviously wrong. But I'm not sure.

So, deflection, huh? Why do you think I said you're either really wrong about me or you're trying to take away from the borok thing.
I could definitely see really wrong, because it would look bad for you if you came out swinging for me and got me lynched.

Frankly I'm kind of stunned that you can't see anything in borok. The guy has no excuse for a lot of the weird things he's said and done (votes, comments about people dying, really weak reasons for voting for people who clearly turned out to be civ, etc etc).

I forgot to mention that the one big difficulty with all this could be that timmer mentioned borok multiple times as suspicious, but I don't think it has to rule him out. It was always in the midst of a slew of stronger suspicions which all came out in a mess of indecision. It is totally possible that it was an attempt to keep distance. And he often piggybacked on other people's suspicions to do it.
But I will take that this is a drawback to the idea.

Oh my goodness, why did I do this!! I should have been doinng homework...
Well, this may seem extreme, but I just wanted to make really sure that it was clear why I said borok. I'm open to discussion about it. And sorry, some of my quotes were from using the search featue, so some are other people's summaries or responses. Take it as you will.

Here's some examples of confusion/weird behavior:
BigDamnHero wrote:ok...I'm really not liking these run-in votes. this time it was borokkuei jumping in against Dom. He hasn't even been participating but seems confident enough to vote so quick and so early? What's possibly even worse is that not only does he refer back to a suspicion he first brought up two days ago, it was a suspicion he originally thought was about MP and had to be corrected...here (some kind of error happened and it wouldn't let me quote the post so this is the link):

http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 80#p35180
He didn't even vote Dom on that day (Day 6) because the winds were currently blowing in SVS' direction at the time. Something just doesn't sit right with me there...

Quite frankly all these absent/inattentive players are somewhat frustrating me...I'm not sure who it was who said it, but if they are civillians, they aren't really doing the rest of us any favors by staying so silent. We don't have to be as chatty as movingpictures was (that was a sort of distraction in its own right) but not saying anything or these run-and-gun votes isn't helping either. I think I've got to toss my vote to borokkuei this round.

Looking through your posts...you haven't really said anything.

For the moment I'm going to push borok's comments aside and label my reaction as emotional, and go with my thought that he's just a civv not playing the game up to his potential.

While it may be unfair to speculate, since she does not appear to be showing other failed kill attempts on purpose anyway, could this mean that borokkuei is a member of blue laser, or perhaps even the cheat? Just curious, since I am really unsure of what to make of him. He has said more than a few statements throughout the game that have been gross inaccuracies... And while I could see a Baddie or civvie being confused or faking confused, I want other input on this matter.

That is all I have to say for now.
I had a thought I didn't think I should share, that maybe he was Trogdor and killed himself by accident, only for Daisy to realise he couldn't actually do that. It's a possibility but I don't think I'd be comfortable lynching someone on that logic. I don't personally have much of a read on him anyway.
I could see that being possible. But I would feel very uncomfortable lynching someone solely off a hosting error. I do think borok has said a lot of things that haven't been true about the game. I'm unsure as to whether it's because he's not paying enough attention or if it's because he's trying to sow the seeds of doubt.
I think it more likely that Trog was blocked or Borrok was protected somehow and Daisy overlooked it.
Matt F wrote:Oh, and as for low posters, I think Borok should be looked at soon, as well.

This is like the second or third time the dude has latched onto my opinions and ran with them. I am getting increasingly paranoid that if he is on a team, he was told to agree with whatever I say.
borokkuei wrote:I didn't even catch this when it happened, since I'm consistently busy and haven't been reading this thread thoroughly, but earlier in the game I had the suspicion that vomps and lizzy were on a team together, whether good or bad. I assume bad though, but that's mostly because I know vomps' personality :p I voted lizzy a while ago, and I'm going to vote for her again k

Then there was the whole thing about borok's death and rez, which led some to believe he might be trogg? (That seemed a bit of a stretch to me, but I could totally see a team protect that was overlooked by our wonderful host).

borokkuei wrote:My only other suspicions right now are:

BDH - not based on much other than he seems to have been against me for the whole game, changing his reasons every day/night period.

A Person - just simply because he never posts... like, ever, but more so since things have been heating up a bit, so maybe he's trying to lay low and avoid scrutiny, or possibly he's like me and is just generally quiet (I know he is, but still).

And somewhat snow dog, just because he seems to be in a really good place with everyone thinking he's civ. He very might well be civ, but if he's not and everyone else is convinced of his civviness, he's in a very safe spot for a baddy. But really I've got no evidence on that and I'm most likely (like 90% sure) that I'm simply over-analyzing.
Suspicions summary: "he was after me," "he never posts" (Pot & Kettle? until recently, which is weird), "no one else seems to suspect him, so I will"

Even though he had just said that he didn't have an opinion on AP. And then said this
borokkuei wrote:Yeah, I'm not convinced on snowy being bad. That was just me over-analyzing.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 10]

Gah! I feel like I am constantly apologizing for my absence. Seriously, I have an obscene amount of homework this semester. :overreact:

Thank you, leamiteo! My confidence in you is restored. Ok, I'm just being silly. But seriously, that's exactly what I had intended to point out about borok, except with other posts than that (which I promise to find tonight, even if I lose sleep over it, because I stink at keeping my promises in this game).

I'm going to decide about my vote first, because I move like a snail when it comes to quote posts. I am REALLY wary about jumping on either of the bandwagons. I still am not convinced about the Bullz thing. But I have been wrong so many freakin times, I am NOT about to just jump into another group to balance out the vote. Because, we all know a bunch of people will say, ooooh, CBK came in last second for a save!, if it happens that Bullz is bad, when in reality I just take forever and a day to make decisions. All that just to say, I don't like wagon rides unless I'm convinced.

And, yes, to whoever mentioned it, I do seem confused most of the tiime, because I am. That doesn't mean I'm non-commital. I ran hard after llama and MP, but I was clearly wrong about at least part of that. And that's why I get confused. I second guess myself a lot after things like that.

Anyway, I am voting borok.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 9]

So, given recent events, my suspicions needed some updating. I started a borok reread, because someone mentioned him last round, and I don't feel convinced now for either of the Bullz/Dom duo. I will have to post some findings later, but I think he may be a good lead. Thoughts? Is there some major clue to his civviness that I missed too?

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 9]

Ok, without quoting that huge post by SVS above...
Wait, isn't Mata dead? Am I getting people confused?
I could see the possibility of Bullz baddiness, but remind me, SVS, why it's clear you're civ? Seriously, I may have just missed an argument. Of course, I find it suspicious that you lump me in with these, but then you have no way of confirming that I know I'm a civ. Are you still going off of my vote last time?

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 9]

Ok, clearly there's been a slight miscommunication. I get what you're saying JC. I just think it was overstatement to say there was nothing you can get from is posts. And to whoever else asked, I didn't necessarily say I had decided on MP's posts. I said it was a good place to start reading. Now, the problem is that I don't have any time to read, since I have like 300 pages of real reading. Frankly, I don't know what to do, because everything else I thought was wrong and now I don't know enough about other people. I have to leave until after the poll in like two minutes. Therefore, to remain consistent, I will vote SVS. Please don't follow my lead unless you have more specific suspicions. And hopefully you won't all attack me for this, because I won't be here to respond.
Sorry everyone.

Probably S~V~S. Maybe DP or Dom, but given how the vote is going, then S~V~S. I feel she doesn't have the civvies' best interests at heart this game and she probably is Trogdor, honestly. But what do I know about that, I could be wrong. Just my gut, which has been wrong before in this game, so take that as you will.

I still have some somewhat rotten feelings about Dom (I really feel like he's been manipulating), timmer, CBK (her thoughts about Leamiteo bugged me), Snow Dog (I just really don't know what to make of him), and LT (I wasn't sure how I felt about bea) in that order. BUT these are all gut/interpretations-based, and I'd hate to do these players what has been done to me, so maybe I'm totally wrong about some or all of these...
I went to look back at MP's final posts as well. I think it's strange that Indi said all the people said 100% on are dead. Although he doesn't use that wording here, he seemed pretty confident about SVS, who is definitely not dead. For that matter, neither are the other top two. ??? In that case, I would continue to consider SVS. I would also consider Dom. Unfortunately, since I was so wrong about MP, I didn't consider Dom, because he seemed to be looking at MP too. But now that we know who MP was... And notice that right after Dom, MP mentioned timmer. I know some of that may have come from timmer going after MP, but we all know how things turned out with timmer. So, MP seemed to have some good insight here.

But then you said this, JC
juliets wrote:Ok, I didn't read back on CBK yet because i wanted to read MP's most recent posts. Have you guys done that yet? I can't tell a damn thing from reading what he said in the posts before he died. He brought up people's names but in the cases I read he would say things like "now this is just my gut feeling" about anyone he brought up. I'm having a hard time pulling a name out of his thoughts. Maybe Dom but from what I read he didn't feel highly confident even there. He said in that post before he died to look at his confidence levels. Well, I didn't see any confidence levels in the posts I've read.

What have the rest of you gotten out of MP re-reads. I certainly didn't re-read all his posts (has anyone here tackled that?) but I did read his latest posts. So, anyone got anything where he's saying he's 90% confident or anything like that?
So, even though we basically found out that MP had inside info on some people, and he seemed fairly confident about at least one person, you couldn't get anything out of it. The reason he was still using the whole gut feeling line is because he hadn't basically outed his role yet, which happened a few posts later. Now, I'm not guarenteeing that he's right about these people, but it seems at least a good place to start reading. And I wouldn't mind adding you and indi to that list of considerations, all things considered. I know that's four people, and I pretty much have no time to read through four people, so we'll see...

juliets wrote:I am thinking about voting Captain Bunny Killer today. I went back over her posts and most content is about lynching MP or llama both of whom were good. Her lynch votes line up the same way, llama and MP, except for the last one which could very well be an attempt to save Timmer. I may be completely wrong here and I will keep an open mind up to lynch time but that's where my thinking is right now.
The problem with this is that I voted for SVS when only one other person had voted for SVS. It didn't even tie the vote. And, frankly, I hadn't considered Timmer as seeming baddie, so I clearly missed the discussion on him before the vote. I had little to go on, since I had been so absent due to school. I literally got on for one minute and checked MP's last posts to see if he mentioned anyone. I had seen that people discussed SVS, so I, with apologies for not having more time to research it, voted the best I could. Your only other reasoning is that I continued my suspicion of the whole MP/llama thing throughout the game, which anyone can see why their antics would seem fishy. You're basically basing your vote on my being consistent in my votes/suspicions, even when it would mean standing out from the group a little when the wave of suspicion had subsided from them some (though I was certainly not the only one left, even though I'm apparently the only one you're looking at).

And I still don't know why for sure you just picked me right out of the gate when this last night phase ended. You've tried to act casual about it, but I'm sure you're eager for more discussion, so that it won't look like you're gunning for me.

Wow, you jumped on that. Forgot that someone you believed was civ just died? I wasn't even within MP''s top few in his final posts. Well, anyway, look all you want. Your only worry on me should be that I seem to be terrible at this game (as in wrong about everyone). :sigh:
I jumped on what? Those are both my quotes. And why would I have forgotten that MP was civv? Your whole first sentence confuses me. And yes, all i said was I was going to read back your posts.
As in you named me right after the night finished without even noticiing that someone (Matahari) you thought was civvie was just killed. I mentioned MP, because you said he mentioned me. He did, but he had other leads that came before me in his final effort to help the civ cause.

And I voted you, SVS, because a quick look back at those final MP posts had your name at the top. Sorry, I had nothig else to go on in the short time between homework assignments.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 8]

I feel I owe an apology to the group. Since school started, I pretty much can't give any extended thought to this. I should have known, but Daisy has already had to replace so many people. I feel like I could have helped prevent more of the mistakes in our selections if I had been a little more diligent. I apologize. Considering that, and how lynching MP went, I intend to vote for one of his named suspicions: SVS. I really have no way to research this, so I apologize again.

And, by the way, I am typing this in the library at a bank of school computers. It felt weird logging in to a website as "Captain Bunny Killer" in the event that the person next to me looked over. Haha

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 7]

Well, I feel like I have to start by apologizing again. I can recognize that there are some worthwhile discussions going on. Unfortunately they're about people that I would need to examine more. I have no desire to jump in and vote whatever everyone else is going on. Since there seems to be suspicion of MP again (or still), I am going to stick with that. I've been really, really torn about him at points, but I think he's capable of playing this well and fooling people into thinking he's the lead, civ examiner of other suspects. I also just get really suspicious when someone has been treated by multiple other players as definitely innocent. Plus, I was a little suspicious when he spoke up to urge the civ role block to do a repeat block (which could totally be a civ move, but I could see it the other way too), and it ended up not working. I realize none of this is enough to go on by itself. I'm just trying to show where I am with this before I vote. I'm going to be gone this morning, and I'm afraid I'll miss the vote again. Even though I'm Daisy's sister (or maybe bc I am!), I don't want to test the length of her mercy. ;)

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 7]

Seriously, guys, I'm really sorry. I've got so much on my plate right now that I don't really have time to keep up. I've skimmed a little bit of the last page to just get an idea of who's suspecting who. Yeah, I just threw the leamiteo thing out there, because supposedly you wanted me to be honest. It just seemed like she would get on randomly and not really commit to the main discussion much and then vote for someone random. But, like I said, I didn't mean any serious accusation.
And, frankly, I still have never regained complete trust of MP. I would be interested to read this case against him, but sadly I need sleep.

Re: Homestar Runner [Day 7]

Wow. Well, not only have I been absent for a few days, but I am also almost completely back to square one after the deaths in those few days. Seriously, I don't know what the heck to say about all this.

Although, I have to say that leamiteo was way down on my list, but she was there. Even though she defended me a few days ago, I had already been thinking that her behavior seemed very avoid-the-main-thing-going-on-ish. Just a thought. No specific suspicions... especially since my suspicions are at least days old. :sigh:
