Re: The Room Mafia {SIGNUPS}

ESSAY #5
battlestar galactica's finale vs. lost's finale pt. 2

8:20 pm CST

Lost blamed it all on Jacob. The extent of Jacob's powers, or what they are is not explained. That's fine, you don't have to explain everything. Jacob had a clear motivation. To defeat MiB, and find a replacement for himself.

BSG's Jacob isn't named. We don't know what it is. It could be God, or Satan, or something alien or whatever. We don't know. Nor do we know it's reasons for doing things.

This is a lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy dues ex machina.

Also, wtf's up with Starbuck? Another seemingly random plot device that apparently serves BSG God's motives. I feel like the flashback to Apollo's flashback was the highlight of the stupidity. In case you couldn't tell, becuase Ron was being so subtle, is that

I

T'

S

A

M

E

T

A

P

H

O

R

!

That was the most over the top scene ever. They just needed to superimpose Starbuck's face over the dove's and have
RIP STARBUCK
appear in comic sans, that's how subtle it is.

Anyway, I'm going to be moving on from BSG to other topics, although I really don't want to.

Please join

ESSAY #4
battlestar galactica's finale vs. lost's finale pt. 1

8:10 pm CST
That line was vetoed by the actors, when they couldn't stop laughing at how stupid it was.

Now, let's get in to the big reveal.

The entire series was the machinations of an entity with god-like powers. The Cylons, the humans, everything was all because of it.

Why? What motive does it have? FUCK YOU THAT'S WHAT FUCKING MOTIVE IT HAS!

Who or what is it?

FUCK YOU THAT"S WHAT IT FUCKING IS! There's no explaination as to what this thing is, or it's motives, and we're just supposed to eat it up because "It's God". That's all the explaination Ron Moore thinks it fucking needs.

I read an essay detailing all of the miscellaneous things the BSG God did. There's no motive, no point. It's just random bullshit that advances the plot and creates conflict. There's no point to any of it.

I understand that it's hard for serialized shows to have an answer for everything. Most shows just make it up as they go along. That's not something I have a problem with. (Example: LOST) My problem is when you set up all of these vague mysteries that torture everyone for four seasons only to just say. "It's God, you can all go home now." It's incredibly lazy. And fucking insulting.

Re: The Room Mafia {SIGNUPS}

ESSAY #3
battlestar galactica's finale pt.3

8:00 pm CST

Do you get what this means?

It failed.

Badly.

Pretty much all of the human population decimated itself. Humanity took on cylons, went through numerous battles, and fought for it's life all to be destroyed because Apollo wanted to play Survivorman.

FUCK YOU APOLLO.

FUCK YOU RON MOORE.

FUCK YOU ANYONE WHO EDITED, OR WAS IN THE WRITERS ROOM, AND THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA!

The suckiness of Daybreak pt. 3 cannot be understated. Here's an example: "All Along The Watchtower" is apparently a code for the location of Earth. (How the fuck did Bob Dylan write the fucking song then? Was "AATW" just God's jam? Did he just decide to give it to Bob Dylan lyrics and all? Why didn't he give it to, I don't know, John Lennon, or anyone else?) Ron Moore apparently wrote this piece of diologue.

ROSLIN: Starbuck, where are we we going?
KARA: Somewhere.........all along the watchtower.
*slow clap*

What the fuck was RM on when he wrote that? What the fuck was RM on when he reread his draft, went over that line, and thought "hey, that's pretty good" wtf was his editor on when she decided that was an ok line to keep?
how the fuck did this piece of diologue get so far through the process?

Re: The Room Mafia {SIGNUPS}

ESSAY #2
battlestar galactica's finale pt.2

7:50 pm CST

1. There is no way that the population would just go along with this. NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO BE A FUCKING FARMER CAVEMAN RON MOORE! I FUCKING DON'T!
2. If say, someone wanted to not be a farmer for the rest of their lives, and wipe their ass with a leaf, they are screwed. This is an all or nothing strategy. If Billy doesn't want to do this, well too bad! We're going to drop hm off in the middle of fucking nowhere with a box of matches and a packet of sunflower seeds. Buh-bye! Have a nice fucking life!
3. This completely un-democratic solution that doesn't give anyone a choice is thought up by Apollo, who for the last 2 seasons has been all about championing democracy, and how everyone has a voice. He even defended Gaius Baltar just because he believes that everyone should have a voice. If say, Cmdr. Adama wanted to do this, it'd be a little bit better, but this is completely out of character for Apollo.
4. In modern day, we find out that Hera was primordial Eve. Ignoring that blatant and utter fuck you to science, she died young, and alone.

THIS DID NOT WORK.

Re: The Room Mafia {SIGNUPS}

ESSAY #1
battlestar galactica's finale pt.1

7:40 pm CST

*SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE OF BATTLESTAR GALACTICA*
BSG is the show every LOST fan can point to and say "At least it wasn't as bad as that."

The most sad thing about it is how consistently good the show was before the finale. It was some of the best serialized adult sci-fy that I had ever seen. With fantastic performances by some great actors, and some of the best plot twists in TV, (All Along The Watchtower) BSG could do no wrong. And for the first 2 parts of the finale, it didn't. I can pinpoint the exact moment the show lost it's shit. It's when Apollo suggests to Lampkin that they shouldn't live in cities, or have modern technology, but live in farms like fucking hill people. This is the point where Lampkin should say "That's a fucking idiotic idea Apollo, why would we do that?" But no, THEY GO ALONG WITH IT! On my next essay, I will talk about every way in which this is the worst, stupidest idea someone could ever have. And this is before I delve into the most blatant Deus Ex Machina I have ever seen.

Re: The Room Mafia {SIGNUPS}

So, I'm on a mission to get a seventh player by the end of tonight, if it's not the last thing I ever do. So, welcome to

THE ROOM MAFIA TELETHON 2014!

Yes, welcome to The Room Mafia Telethon 2014! This means that every ten minutes I will be posting a short essay on life, love, and whatever other bullshit I can think of. This will continue until I either get a seventh player, or I become depressed at how desperate my life is, and how it's devolved into this, and then I eat a big tub of ice cream and cry. Please don't let that happen.

Please sign up for The Room Mafia, for my sake.

It's actually been scientifically proven that signing up for The Room Mafia cures Erectile Dysfunction, and increases your libido, sex drive, and colon.

If we get one more player tonight, hopefully I can start tomorrow if that is all right.

Re: MM7: The Room Mafia

How it's going to work:

The Room Mafia is an open BTSC game. This means that you can PM anyone and everyone about the game. Make alliances, make deals, and backstab others. For an example of how this would work, refer to my earlier game Sherlock Mafia. (http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... f=28&t=219) Although, this game will feature 99% less sockpuppets, insults, or incredibly easy puzzles.

Nightkills:

NK's will work like this: Each day, there is going to be a secret posting challenge. The details of which are only known to me?. Of course, if Chris R. decides to use his ability, it supersedes the contest winner, and he get's the NK.

The Room Mafia {SIGNUPS}

Image

The long, industrious Mini Mafia series continues with one the most critically acclaimed movies of all time. A story about a good man, his babe, his best friend, his weird creepy neighbor, his mother-in-law, and spoons.

Especially spoons.

THE MINI-MAFIA SERIES:

The Room Mafia is different in that every role has a unique win condition, making this somewhat of a LMS game.

It's also a free BTSC game. This will work like Sherlock.

Image
Johnny
Johnny would do anything for his princess, Lisa. But would she do the same?
*Win Condition: If he is found by Lisa, they form a team. If their team eliminates everyone else, they both win. If Lisa finds Mark, Johnny win's once Lisa and Mark are both eliminated. If Lisa dies before she can find either of them, he becomes a LMS role.*

Image
Lisa
Lisa's engaged with Johnny, but lately she has been finding him boring. Will she decide to cheat on him?
*Win Condition: Every night, Lisa searches for Mark or Johnny. Whichever one she finds first, she forms a team with him. She wins if they eliminate everyone else. If Mark and Johnny both die before she finds either of them, she becomes an LMS role.

Image
Mark
Mark is Johnny's best friend, but has lately been drifting away from him. When Lisa tries to seduce him, will he be able to resist?
*Win Condition: He can role-block a player each night. If he is found by Lisa, they form a team. If their team eliminates everyone else, they both win. If Lisa finds Johnny, or if Lisa dies before she can find either of them, he becomes an LMS role.

Image
Denny
Denny is like a son to Johnny, but he really loves to watch them.
*Win Condition: Denny can find out spy on someone and find out their role every night. Denny also searches every night to try and watch Johnny and Lisa "sleep". If he finds them, and they have already formed a team, he wins. If either Lisa or Johnny dies, or Lisa chooses Mark, he becomes an LMS role.

Image
Claudette
Lisa's mother who definitely has breast cancer. (BECAUSE SHE'S A WOMAN!)
*Win Condition: Claudette can win with Lisa. If Lisa finds Johnny, Claudette can win with both of them. If when Johnny and Lisa are a team, Lisa dies, Claudette can still win with Johnny. If Lisa chooses Mark, Claudette cannot win with either of them, and becomes an LMS role. If Lisa dies before finding Mark or Johnny, she becomes an LMS role.

Image
Chris-R
Chris R sells drugs for a living, and is a bit miffed when Denny doesn't pay for buying one whole drug.
*Win Condition: Chris has a Night Kill that he can use once during the game. Him using this Night Kill overrides all other contests. He is a straight LMS role.

Image
Peter
Peter is a psychologist who likes to judge people. He can also be a little chicken. Cheep, cheep, cheep.
*Win Condition: Peter has to send me a full and accurate list of everyone and their role. He only has two chances to do this though, if he get's both wrong, he is eliminated. If he is correct, he wins. Peter can send me this list at anytime, during day or night.
