Was your role such that you could only grant or refuse one wish per night?
Yes I could only grant one wish a night and I could put parameters on it. Or I could grant an inverse wish which was what yours was. It was a very cool role - I was so sad when you guys killed me but it's probably good you did.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 5)

Kyle wished for bts with Anya (me) night 2 and I gave it to him. He told me he was Giles and speed was Buffy. We hatched a plan whereby speed would wish for me to have bts with nutella the next night because we knew she was willow. Then I would have asked nutella to ask for bts between me and someone else we trusted the next night. As long as we didn't pick a mafia in that chain we could have had a civ network. Speed did wish fir nut and I to have bts but I died that same night. Loved the game BR-LC. Can't wait til A World Asunder!

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Night 3)

So I googled "how to kill a vampire" and found out two important things. One, that direct sunlight is the easiest way to kill a vampire and it only requires being in the sun for 10 seconds. The second thing is vampires have strong neck muscles making beheading hard to do. So I'm going with the easy way, direct sunlight.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmout (Day 3)

Alright, I can see most of what speedchuck and Lorab talked about with Illy, and I saw the blendiness that Mac pointed out right away. One think I don't really buy though is the part about Wilgy. If she is Glory and needs everyone dead, why pick someone you've pointed out in the thread as being suspicious? Why not kill someone else you're not connected to in any way? That just hits me as something someone would not do. That said, I won't be shocked if she is Glory if we end up lynching her. I'll go ahead and vote now.

Nova you are quite passionate about Tranq and though I may not agree with everything you've said I appreciate that you're passionate about someone. That's the kind of thing I was looking for.

I don't find her responses to being late for the vote, or especially to the nightkills, as genuine in tone. She goes after lurkers. She shies off of the case on me, even when agreeing with it. She is the only person who interacted with Wilgy in anything close to confrontation before Glory killed him (this one is a stretch, I know).

There are other tiny things that ping me with her interactions. She's compatible scummates with quite a few people IMO, including some suspects that have died to town/indy roles, and she's also not a bad choice for SK. She talking about the bad guy poll, specifically about the glory option, but never voted there. Lots of tiny, tiny things, you know? And nothing reassuring to counteract them.

She's only made 16 posts, but there's a lot of interesting stuff there.
This was VERY helpful. Thanks.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 2)

Below is nova's last post. He still hasn't given any clue who he suspects or who he sees as town if he is doing a POE analysis. I don't think that is acceptable for this kind of fast paced game. Nova, if you have anything to say relevant to this please do so. You are a prime suspect for me at this time.

Well, I missed that too. Thank you.

A question though, do they accumulate ? For example, if someone already has a vote penalty on them and proceeds to not vote again. Would they have 2 votes on them next day phase ?
That's up to the hosts. They might or might not give you an answer. Really it would be smartest and safest of you to just use your vote and stop being unreasonably contentious about it.
So I'm being unreasonably contentious for playing differently and asking a few questions. That's fair.

Anyway thank you for the help.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmout (Day 3)

I feel bad for rabbit coming back from being away for years and he gets killed night 1 in his first game and night 2 here. Those are my personal thoughts though - from a game perspective Buffy must have had a good reason for killing him. Also interesting is that Willow found rabbit suspect. I have to assume they both read him better than me - he's inscrutable as far as I'm concerned.

I re-read Kyle yesterday and ended up thinking he is not mafia or Glory. There was some confusion about that nutella vote but after reading it back it comes off to me as being rushed at the very last minute coupled with a belief that speed was civ. It was a bad decision but it doesn't make him bad.

Today I want to re-read Tranq, sig, and Ambray as well as go back over speed. I'm sure I'll read some others too but I'll start there.

DFaraday wrote: Wed Feb 07, 2018 12:57 am Just got home, thought this ended an hour later. Guess I'm probably dead, so whatever.

Let me ask you all something though: I had the way Drusilla's role works exactly backwards from how it actually works. It was a complete reversal of what we know her ability to do, so even if she has secrets that aren't part of the game it couldn't possibly be what I said. Also, if I were part of the baddie team what reason could I have for positing a baddie power that isn't public knowledge? What could I possibly have to gain from the gambit? And if it were an honest mistake, how much less likely would I be to make a mistake like that if I were actually on the team with Drusilla? Seriously, you guys. This makes absolutely no sense.

If anyone could tell me exactly how or why a baddie would misrepresent Drusilla's power the way I did (calling needless attention to themselves to boot), please explain to me. You talk about capitalizing on an easy lynch, this was fricking it.
DF, I didn't think you were positing a baddie power that wasn't public knowledge on purpose. My opinion was that you inadvertently let on to Dru's secret power, forgetting that the rest of us didn't know what it was. I don't understand what you mean by it was a complete reversal of what we know her ability to do so I can't speak to that. This post makes me think you are probably civ and if thats true I am sorry if you end up being lynched. I did the best I could.

I've played games where this happens quite a bit however loop was genuinely seemingly distraught by the game & lost on how to play, they were new & loop voters took that as bad & proceeded to take advantage.
if I'm reading this correctly you're saying that drive-by voters who don't post anything are less suspicious than people who don't show up at all? How does that figure?? Someone who has enough motivation to come and drop a vote without saying anything seems likely to be bad, whereas someone who hasn't shown up at all is completely null.

Tranq has gone for the night as he said in his last post. He explained his vote for you in another post - have you read them? You haven't made any posts besides this one since Day 0 and it kinda feels like you are avoiding the game because you are posting elsewhere. S~V~S asked you your thoughts on the game but you haven't responded. It would be helpful to me if you would. I can see why Tranq voted for you and I could consider a vote here as well.

I must have missed them then. I'm not really avoiding the game, I'm just a quiet player and don't post unless I have something to contribute. At the moment, I don't and that's why you haven't heard my thoughts. Also, S-V-S never mentioned me in a post or I didn't get the notification.

Me posting in another game and not in this one doesn't mean anything. You could always check that game and you'd see that I didn't post early in the game when I didn't have anything to add.
I did check the other game and you posted 18 times on Day 0 and Day 1/Night 1, most of that on Day 0. You even gave a read on someone as being suspicious. I'll agree that you didn't say a whole lot but you were a lot more active than you've been here.

What about after D1 ? I'm sure you've seen my activity during those phases. You shouldn't be comparing Day1/Night1 of this game with the other game or any of the other games for the matter. It all depends on if I have something to contribute/say or not. I didn't and still don't for now.
I was mostly looking at Day 0 versus Day 0 because thats where most of your posts were in that game. I will keep in mind what you've said. You're a new player to me and all I know is that one comparison.

Also, can you tell me why you didn't vote on Day 1? I noticed when I went to the other game that nutella explained to you there the culture surrounding voting here and the fact that some hosts punish for not voting which is exactly what's happened here. I don't mean to harass you with these questions, it's just my style to ask.

sig, I underlined below where DF talked about Drusilla being able to defect from the baddies.

Timmer being killed isn't bad but it isn't great. It all depends with the Indies how ppl play them. How's the mayor not human and aren't wearwolfs technically human?

I think it's safer to assume spike hit a non civ.

Someone (Mac?) Mentioned mafia killing low poster, this is true but jack is also a high speed player so it could be more along that logic then the clearing out inactive.
I would assume Oz qualifies as human, but I guess the hosts might not consider him as such if he's using a werewolf power or something. The Mayor is human, but his whole thing is he wants to become a demon, so who knows.

It should also be noted that Drusilla can defect from the baddie team, so in theory all but three players can win together.
DF I don't see where is says Drusilla can defect from the baddie team under her role description. Am I looking in the wrong place or not understanding something?

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Night 1)

In re-reading I found the quote below where speed answered nutella saying he didn't want a defense just an answer. I tend to think this indicates he was not accusing loop voters. The other points S~V~S makes though seem valid.

Did Lap do that? They might have been defensive toward that.

I wasn't flinging suspicion with my question. I just wasn't here. I didn't want defense, just an answer.
Ok nutella I see your point on DF though I wish DF had answered for himself.

speedchuck wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2018 6:03 pm @juliets I'm happy to vote somewhere else if you answer my question.

You've asked some questions, you've gotten some answers. Like a fourth of the game is dead already. Time is short. Days are short.

Where do you want to go? Who do you want to pursue thus far?
I'm not sure I understand what you are asking with "where do you want to go". Right now I have an important question out to DF. Did he slip and reveal something that only the mafia would know? Also, SVS's case regarding you looks decent at first glance but I need to spend some time looking back at your posts which I'm going to do next. I'm not wild about lapluie's reason for voting DF even though I am looking at whether he slipped. Other than that lapluie hasn't commented (unless I missed it) on suspicions or asked probing questions so I am looking at her. There are 5+ hours left in the day and I expect more posting to occur so I may see more that I want to pursue as the day goes by.

Why Juliets?
I was ISOing players and she was the first high poster who I did not get a single town ping from. Her posts are mostly mechspec and prodding toward others.

I don't recall Juliets's meta, so this may be normal for her. Nevertheless, the vote is on the board, and I want to see what she does about it. Clock is ticking.
What is "mechspec"? Also, prodding is my style. I ask questions to assimilate information or to poke into places I might want to go.
Mechanics speculation.

Where do you want to go?
I ask questions to explore concerns that I have. For example, I asked DF about his Drusilla post because it seems like he might know something the rest of us do not about Drusilla. That could indicate he is Drusilla or is a partner of Drusilla OR it could be something innocent that I'm just not understanding so I want to know what he has to say about it. I will then know whether I want to pursue the angle that he knows something about Drusilla. Every time I ask a question I'm trying to gain information to help point me in a direction. That's what I mean by "places I want to go". I think you already knew this though.

Since you are not aware of my meta I would suggest you look back at a game where I was bad. You will see a difference.

link I will post then read

Kyle, I played Chica but I'm assuming you don't want the link to that because it wasn't really mafia. Prior to that I played GOC which no longer exitsts and I subbed into Phenom http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... f=2&t=1266. I can't find any other games until Battlestar Galactica which was in 2016 http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... =27&t=1040. I'll keep looking though the side missions and heists but on first look I didn't see anything in 2017 that was familiar.

The only thing I remembered about Wilgy's playstyle is he says "I'm a doctor" almost every game. Certainly I don't recall anything as bizarre as the post he had made in this game prior to my comment. I looked at the ongoing Mortal Kombat and didn't see that he had posted anything bizarre in that game on Day 0/Day 1. I guess I don't understand what you think I would gain by not telling the truth about something like that.

Juliets post about Wilgy struck me as odd, I might've said this or just thought it?

I've got a gut mafia read of Wilgy.

I like Speed pointing out the hive mind thing, but I doubt all three mafia members would act that way.

SvS has a slight gut civ read.

Something nutella said seemed scummy, but I can't remember what so I'll need to look over that again.

I voted for Master since he isn't in the game and having never seen Buffy I don't have a favorite.
