One time too many in my last post, I'll grant you that.
It's a rare, fun treat. Not a critique :P

Logan is however the greatest superhero movie of all time

The Shape of Water - 8(?)/10

A beautiful movie with a touching, heartfelt message. Maybe not my usual speed but a fun watch and certainly deserving of the praise it's been getting.

Re: Rate the last movie you've seen

The Cloverfield Paradox - 3/5... B+ Good solid stuff.

Difficult to talk about it without spoilers, so I will say this: Lovely cast, solid tension throughout, neat twists. Fairly easy to follow while also managing to try something ambitious. Its an enjoyable film that isn't perfect. Some of its punchier moments whiff, but when it hits, it hits big.

Re: Rate the last movie you've seen

I think my favorite movie of all time is Hook and my favorite film of all time is Baby Driver. I love Hook because of Peter Pan, Robin Williams, the time in my life that I saw the movie and all that gushy stuff.

I like Baby Driver on a more technical, official level. Seriously if you haven't seen it the fucking editing and music and all that shit is so next level.

===

Preemptive question: would the readers (assuming there are any) of my usual ramblings here be interested in listening 10 minutes to me speak about movies or, as before, in 10 minutes of reading my scribblings - assuming, again, that you'd normally spend any such amount of time on this. In light of some minor tech upgrades in my shed, I could switch to audio (but not full video, the way I'm doing SAWs - that's beyond exhausting).
My favorite film of all time is Hook.

Re: Rate the last movie you've seen

Baby Driver as a matter of fact might be my second (very close second) favorite film of all time. My favorite certainly in terms of cinematography, editing, soundtrack, etc.

Re: Rate the last movie you've seen

Logan is one of the best Comic Book films of all time. A damn sight better than the previous Wolverine/X-Men films, and in ways better than most Marvel movies. I actually cried when watching it, so there ya go. People need to win awards for this movie.

Rogue One - 8/10 (?)

Cool movie. Great to see the representation in the Star Wars Universe. Not sure if we needed a flashback movie. Probably would have preferred a new Star Wars with the representation this had. Definitely tired of every goddamn star wars film being about the Death Star. Do not want a Star Wars film every 8 months. :D

Stunning visuals and effects, decent story, compelling characters for the most part, humor kind of feels out of place, sometimes doesn't land, feels rushed in parts.

Re: Rate the last movie you've seen

Deadpool 9/10 maybe 9.5
Spoiler: show
I heard someone mutter "Oh Shit" after a brief montage of lovey-dovey stuff with Wade and his girlfriend, and then when it was revealed Wade has cancer. Best movie moment of my life yo.
