Re: [END] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

Well done, everyone! And great job, MP! This game looked utterly insane to try to run.

I'm also wondering if I ever got targeted for kills. I spent the later half of the game just trying to use powers that would make me unkillable for that night. :D

Re: [DAY 13] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

SVS, if it makes you feel any better, I feel irrelevant most of the time. :p But you're a confirmed civ, so you're one of the most valuable players we have!

Hedge, I think the suspicion of you mainly comes down to process of elimination. SVS, LIzzy, and BWT are basically confirmed civvies, we have pretty solid reason to believe Nev, Bea, and Daisy are civvies, and Boom is probably Cohen (though he might be a straight-up baddie as well). That leaves you, me, FH, and Elo as the potential baddies. And FH at least has the Piranha thing, which alleviates my suspicion of her somewhat.

Flyin' High wrote:RIP and welcome back Spacedaisy. I suppose prizes could be in play, but considering I had already started thinking you weren't bad based on your past votes, I feel good about this.

Right now my top two suspects are Hedgeowl and Elohcin, plus a little bit of Boomslang. There isn't really evidence directly supporting either of them as being bad, but the timing of Hedgeowl's vote for Epi on Day 5 does make me think she could have been using that vote to distance. I will read back and see if she was consistent in suspecting Epi, or if that was a one time thing.

Also, as was pointed out earlier, Epignosis is pretty loud and proud about defending his wife when she's a civvie. That never happened this game. Is it because they were once again baddie teammates? Gonna read back through Epi and Elohcin's posts as wel to see if anything jumps out.

I feel like bea went very quiet after Mongoose's death. Could be she's just busy, or maybe just mad that we didn't listen to her, which is fair enough.

:SVS:
I'm pretty sure Epig always defends Elo, pretty much regardless of alignment.

I can never read Hedge, but I do feel like one or both or her and Elo are the remaining baddies. I think FH being killed by the Piranha plant way back gives her a bit more civvie cred.

Based on that, I am not sure who you think to be Percy. Or, should i say, there is only one person you could be alluding to based on process of elimination, and i have read that persons posts over and over before today, and i have no idea how you would get that idea of this persons role, or indeed, any idea of their role at all, based on their posts.
I'm not sure if you're referring to who I think you're referring to, but I feel like the Percy hints haven't exactly been subtle.

Well, Boomslang does have a good point there. And for the record, here's my suspish-o-meter as things currently stand, from most to least suspicious:

Elo
Mongoose
Boom
Hedge
Daisy
Bea
FH
Lizzy
Nevin
BWT
SVS
DF

I should have more to say, but I often lose my train of thought. Still, Elo is probably where my vote is going today.

That's how I always play. :p I have a tendency to go a bit off the rails rather than objectively analyze patterns (in Mafia, not necessarily in life).

And I tend not to put stock in Epig because every time I can remember Epig and Elo in a game together, he has defended her at least a little bit. I just feel like there's not anything to glean from this particular tangent, whereas I feel like the Mongoose thing could at least lead somewhere, since it's not like Mongoose votes along with Kate in every single game. If she did, I would discount that here as well. :SVS:

2. He's a very clever baddie and he's risking it all.

BWT, cheers for the Fetus insight. Here's what I'm thinking: I may have the numbers wrong; Moriarty is no more (no reveal), Creeper is probably still out there (killed last night); Fetus is probably still out there; Cohen is probably still out there; I may have the numbers wrong; but this is all there is left... and Catherine died somewhere in the process.

I'm very intrigued by Hedgie's analysis of Goosey... and I'm almost inclined to give her a chance based on her last post addressing my suspicions. But there's still the fact that her game has mostly been an indie hunt. And I'm good buddies with the indies, except when they get towards the end and choose the dark side. :feb:

I have a role in mind for DF. I'm trying to think of a way to phrase this so I won't out him: have you learnt anything interesting about any of the players?

kilinki - oh Boomslang! even I saw it eons ago and I'm probably worse than SVS at attributing roles to people. :p
Hedgie - thanks!
I don't know if you could say I've learned very much, really. You're probably on the right track though (at least I hope so :p ).

So at this point she's still a question mark for me, but I feel better about her not being Creeper or Fetus.

I read back through all of Elohcin's posts. There is so little substance there. The only think I took from it is that she's not Percy because she was very suspicious of BDH and even voted for him.

On to more reading!

The 2 players above her and 2 players below her alphabetically are me, Hedgeowl, Lizzy, and Mongoose. Lizzy is a civvie and I'm a civvie, not 100% certain on Hedge or Mongoose at this point. But if there was no chance of taking out a teammate by doing it, that would have been an excellent way to remove 4 players.

Occam's Razor tells me that theory is not likely to be true. But it popped into my head and I wanted to see what everyone else thought.

Also, I was reading back through some of MP's night posts and the scene in this one stood out to me. The baddies are gathered around playing poker. Catherine Martell, Moriarty, Creeper, and Dr. Fetus are mentioned, as well as Sander Cohen. Is that a hint that as of Night 9, those roles were all still alive? It true, then Rumpelstiltskin is dead and it confirms our belief that Big Daddy and Pirahna Plant are dead.

Also, there was this:
MovingPictures07 wrote:The players then walked over to the bus, ready to head to Illinois. Then, familiarly, it started raining papers, which read:

"I feel pretty confident that DF is a civvie. Also Bea and DH are pretty trustworthy, imo. Not so sure about BWT..."

The papers were signed by Jack Torrence. "Wait... wasn't Jack Vompatti??? And wasn't he dead???" inquired juliets. The champions pondered.
Was this the work of the sinister exaggerator, or something else?
There is at least one civvie role that could have something to do with that. :dalek: :SVS:

BWT, I pointed out FH's quietness because she has a reputation for being a talkative civ with long, detailed posts (like the one I just quoted, actually. That I wasn't seeing much of that pinged me. My play style, on the other hand, is exactly what you've been seeing this whole game.

I think Llama makes some fair points about DharmaHelper quashing discussion, though from my point of view it just seems like it's in DH's self defense that he does so. Llama's participation in this game feels a little bit... different than in other games I've played. I can't quite put my finger on it, but maybe I can elaborate more when my vocabulary ceases to fail me so.

Not to undermine DharmaHelper's intelligence in any way, but the first thought that comes to my mind is that with him being the near-only worker on His Royal Anus's clues is that it would be the perfect way to cover up that he might be one person who has a secret role. Perhaps he's intentionally flubbing some missed translations on purpose to add credence to his innocence?
At this point, I'm all but certain of Dh's civvieness. He helped with the Caesar code bullshit from Avant Day and now he's openly translating Sherlock's code. If he were bad, he could keep all that info to himself and unravel the codes via PM's to the host. instead, he's openly disemminating the information. Granted, there may be the SLIGHTEST of possibilities thatg he's mastermining an elaborate and ballsy baddie agenda but I don't think that is likely.
I missed most of the "DH Discussion squashing" debate, but as I said in myt reply to gleam's post, I don't see how someone who has been openly disseminating info (thus openly helping the players) could possibly be deemed as having bad intentions. The most outspoken and helpful civs are often the main targets of baddies and I kinda think that's what's going on here so my vote goes to Gleam.

I dunno why Sherlock already cast a vote for agleam, but it didn't influence my decision one way or another...

I agree. DH. is reading helpful civvie to me, and saying he's trying to squash discussion makes no sense to me.

That makes you less suspicious to me. I think if BWT is bad (which I'm inclined to believe), his teammate wouldn't openly agree with him. :p

I do agree with FH that we should probably keep a vote on Bea, at least until we know what's going on. But I do think BWT's 180 is very shady, so I'm leaning more towards him than Bea at this point.

I have been hosting a demanding game. :p I should be a bit more active now though.

Welcome back BDH, and I'm also voting DP, for obvious reasons.

I care. RIP BDH, you stood up for freedom, like the guy, I assume you got your name from. :noble:

Also, I voted Vomp, because I stick by what I said earlier.

If I had to vote right now, I'd probably go with Vomps, since I can't remember him contributing, and he voted DH for seemingly no reason. I don't have a good read on a lot of people yet.

This is way too boggling. I agree with Devin that I'll end up voting someone whose name is revealed.

Well, since we want to spread the vote out, why don't we all just choose one number and vote that one?

Mr Doge, your attempts to distract us with Queen is a nice way to spend the rest of the lynch; I'm glad I spent it with you. Now let's hope you just keep me hanging on...no longer.

These are getting pretty forced. :p

Alright then. Well, since it's just a perfect day, I'll just sit back and hope that we made the right call. But we'd better hope that the baddies aren't laughing at us before they go drink sangria in the park.

I voted for the obvious candidate, and to him I say, "You're going to reap just what you sow." And MP, while waiting for the lynch post, you just keep me hanging on.

Am I the only one around here who's actually trying to fit the lyrics into sentences?

Re: [DAY 2] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

I don't know if it's a good idea to put too much stock into potential editing, since we generally don't know all the details. While I do think that we need to broaden our search, Nevinera does have a good point.

I'll have to vote pretty soon because I've got a busy day. I have to feed animals in the zoo, then later a movie, too.

Dom, in my experience Vomp does whatever he wants regardless of alignment. I'd want something more conclusive regarding him before I feel comfortable voting him. And just remember Vomp, if you are bad, you're going to reap just what you sow. You're going to reap just what you sow.

Re: [DAY 2] The Syndicate's 2013 Game of Champions

You just keep me hanging on, Voldemort. But I think we can't get too narrowly focused, and we need to try to draw more people out. We should try to get everyone to share their thoughts, and then later, when it gets dark, we go home.
