I considered killing speedchuck, but I was afraid that he couldn't be killed. Night 1, by the way, I initially was going to kill jackofhearts, because he hadn't posted--but then he came into the game, so I changed to Wilgy, because he seemed like a random choice. Glad I changed because Mafia was killing jack anyway.

She later confirmed it with comments about other comments on potential willow claims.

To be honest I haven't really noticed that I'm in danger. I don't have a penalty vote so I saw that nova was ahead of me but now I do see that I suddenly have several votes.

You're right that I wouldn't have killed JC. And I think Mac would and did. In looking back through his posts, he seems to have hinted at several different civ roles over the course of the game. Could be random things and not role hints, but a bit too much of a coincidence for there to be more than one instance of a line in a post being hinty. But it would make total sense for Glory to drop random hints in posts for multiple roles, with the false role check part of the role.

Voting Mac, although I could be convinced to change, as someone is clearly hiding in plain sight, and maybe someone else can find something.

But I feel pretty confident that Mac is bad--not sure if Vamp or Glory, but not good. His tone feels like he's trying to imitate his civ tone, but just doensn't exactly fit. It's just off.

Also, it still doesn't sit well that he used a wish to make Wilgy post videos in the thread. Adding spam to the thread distracts from conversation and isn't a civ action. And his explanation doesn't hold true:

Why would the result not come until day 3 if he made the wish on night 1? I lost sight of this because of focusing on the Illy lynch and getting ready to go away, but looking back, it is extremely suspicious.

I posted about Illy because I suspected Illy--it was mostly gut, but I also tried to provide some other reasons to help explain where my thoughts were coming from, because I know the culture here tends to appreciate more than just meta. I

As I said, I gave thread reasons because I know they are appreciated, especially when others don't know a player. And the way I read gut and "meta" are directly connected to the way people post. Yes, I didn't make another post about Illy--I was unable to get back to the computer to post any more and I didn't have anything to add about Illy that I hadn't already said or someone else had said--I didn't see a point in repeating myself. And you're right--it isn't a hard case, it was an explanation of why I was pretty sure Illy was bad--and I was right. A gut read is rarely "hard" and I've often been able to gut read Illy--my only hesitation was that I was out of practice.

And that I'd take advantage of a teammate not being there doesn't make sense to me (perhaps you can elaborate)--I generally hate lynching people who aren't there to defend--it's easy to find that about me and several players in the game (like you) know that about me. I voted in this case and didn't change because I was confident--and had no reason to think Illy was unable to come back to defend, just that she wasn't coming back.

Similarly not sure how to feel about the night post. I can see where there could be a hint that novas was possibly good, although I didn't initially read it that way. At any rate, we know he wasn't the last vampire (because we weren't told the vamps are eliminated) and we know he wasn't Glory (killed by Oz and not just Buffy). So, we're still in the same situation.

I'm up way too late and my brain is fried, so not sure about my thoughts. I have a few inklings of ideas I want to look back on (whatever happened to the sig suspicion, why do I feel an ongoing vague ping from lapluie, am I overthinking what triggered Oz, did Illy find Spike, and what do I think about everyone else)...

I'm busy with teenagers for much of the day--should be home (and back to a normalish schedule) around dinner time. On intermitently until then.

OK, I find I was mixing up Dawn and the Mayor power wise, based on what Tranq posted, I did not realize a lynch pardon role had to vote for the person they pardoned?

I looked it up, and this is the Mayors role:
Mayor Richard Wilkins III - The Mayor of Sunnydale, he has the ability to pardon one lynching. *secrets*

Also, BTSC usually continues after the grave--I know that was true in the last game here and LC and I were on the same team--and I know that LC has had that before. So, entirely possible that someone was still in BTSC. You seem to be negating your previous suspicion, which seriously raises my eyebrow.

Oy. Been without wifi more of the day than I've been with wifi and been swamped with teenagers. Haven't had time to read back on people or consider Ambray or anything new. Voting novas because I still suspect him and because I don't want to miss the vote--or make a vote this isn't fully informed.

I have. He has mostly been talking about the mechanics (abilities and night polls), a dead player potentially being bad and tunneling against me.

He wanted to vote D1 against people who didn't vote during the night poll, and then ended up voting Rabbit. He said he was confident with his vote but he didn't give any reason for it.

Much of what you say here simply isn't accurate. Other things don't seem suspicious to me at all. It really looks like you are purely switcherooing.

In a Rock Con game, if we dno't discuss mechanics, then we are probably missing out on a lot. And mechanics are relevant. And, he's discussed players, as well. And what is wrong with speculating about dead players? In a one mafia game (especially with a lot of neutrals), it's important to figure out baddies.

He absolutely gave reasons for suspecting you--his vote post was not the first time he mentioned you. He talked about voting Rabbit in the same post he taked about voting a non-participator (which is fairly common practice), and did so, clearly to me at least, as a throw away vote. Just like you seem averse to voting if you're not pretty sure about your vote, in the mafia culture many of us are used to, throwing out a random vote (or a jokey vote), or voting for a non-participating person, is common. The idea of choosing not to vote is entirely strange to many of us and looks highly suspicious often.

Also, you really don't seem to be reading the thread. Which seems inherently bad to me (since baddies can skip really reading, and have teammates who update them about what's going on).

Novas: help me understand. How do you see tranq as not contributing? Have you read his posts?

The nova voting first for illy thing isn’t sitting right. Nor is his explanation. Anyone remember way back in the day in Simpson’s mafia where sparrow voted for the wrong person (himself maybe) and it became a thing and he was, indeed, bad? It’s possible the hosts, illy, and LA were the only ones around back then, and not sure they played. But it was something that came up as a pattern for a while (it happened in a game soon after that with the same result, don’t remember which). But this feels like that.

It’s against the odds that he (he?) would choose the player with several votes to check to see what the results are, when that player was not the top player nor the one listed for the person actually voted for. So......yeah. Keeping my vote where it is for now but not at all opposed to novas as a second option.

Also, novas, can you clarify why you suspected tranq before he moved his vote to you today?

Also, the night 1 post reads like recruitment, since Spike is with Angelus. Could be story telling, yes, but also makes sense of the hosts vaguely letting us know what's happening.

Of the interactions you name, I'm most concerned with Illy in general. My gut is reading her as bad. It's pure gut and meta, but she doesn't sound like civ illy. Especially the way she talks about the neutrals. It's almost like she is more suspicious of the than the Mafia--Glory as top concern makes sense, but the Mayor is her next top concern? Shouldn't the mafia be more concerning? (I could also see her as either the mayor or glory, for that matter, but I'm thinking vamp)

That isn't how claiming works. So yes, you are role fishing, and breaking the spirit of the rules worse than what you accuse kylemii of, as well as doing a scummish thing
