Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 8]

Matt wrote:Coasting? Ha! You have no idea.

TH, we both know you lied lied lied about the Riddler. We both know it. You also came up with a pretty big whopper of a tale on Day 7, of which I won't go into details because I don't think I'm allowed to, but yeah, liar.

Anyway, as I did the day before with Glorfy, I'm going to be looking elsewhere because simply nobody else in town wants to see you for what you are. I'm not even quite sure...mafia or inmate?...def not civ or civ indy, though. If town ever wises up and looks your way, I'll be sure to plop a vote on you again.

Turnips, if not you, what do you think about Typh? I've been suss of him ever since he confirmed your Riddler tale (which, in turn, also makes Typh a liar). I notice he's on your list, so I'm curious whether you're willing to pull the trigger on him or if you'll try to lead the lynch against me instead.
Matt, do you think you could be wrong about TH lying about this like you thought I was lying about things in A World Reborn? I never thought I lied to you. Do you think this could be a similar situation?
Matt wrote:I concur that nobody is agreeing with me on you and therefore, I'm willing to look elsewhere. Believe it or not, I find it better for the town that I look elsewhere. If I keep harping on you, nobody will want to lynch you cuz I'm me, so perhaps you'll slip up in some other way and somebody else will start gunning for you.

So you think Typh is a good lynch, yes? What do you think of Bullz?

Do you believe Mac is who he says he is, and the Mafia is just letting him live so a player like myself could point that out? I doubt it. I don't have very good feelings about Mac, either.

Elaborate on your feelings on Dom, please. He has come at me several times, each time I respond to his inquiries, then he's like "cool beans", only to go after me the next day again. At one point he even made a self admitted mistake coming after me, yet he still susses me. Weird.

(be back in about 30, runnin' up to the store)
I did make errors earlier. I have made a new point.

I'm not sure how I feel about Typh. I never understood what Glorf was trying to accuse him of. Matt is someone I have felt uneasy about all game, and I think we might be seeing a GoC Matt. Went hard at first and leveled off when he established a civ-tinfoil hat persona.

Are you scarecrow?
Why do you think either of these questions should be asked?
Why don't you just answer the questions if everyone should be questioned? :eye:
Because I don't understand why you're even asking these questions, or why you think they have any merit whatsoever. It's like asking "what color is the sky, MP?", except not quite that blatant. What are you really going to uncover about me by asking these questions?

Rather, I get the interpretation that you're just asking them to seem as though you're involved and hunting, when you ask things like this. It's possible that's why I read you as mafia so often.
See, why deflect my question? Maybe I'm seeing how you'll handle pressure. Maybe I'm seeing what you'll do. I could have any number of reasons for those questions and deflecting them is something I would never expect a civvie to do after they just said, "everyone should be questioned".

I don't need to pretend to hunt. I have hunted plenty. I have helped several people get lynched (I wouldn't say I was instrumental, but certainly was a part of some of the lynches). I was wrong on sprit, and I was right on others. I don't need to pretend because I've been hunting this whole game. I have had a clear suspect list. I have asked for several others' opinions on the current topics-- most of them haven't answered me.

So don't flip this on me. I asked you two questions. If you don't want to answer them, fine, but don't pretend you want to "question everybody".

You have shown in the thread that you have roles in mind for Batman, Alfred, Robin, Gordon and Harvery Bullock. Guess who's left... Renee Montoya. Maybe you could be one of the cops, but you've not shown any interest in lynching the Inmates, even though you believe Glorfindel is one. All that's left for me to conclude is that you are either Renee Montoya or not civ at all... and I would guess the latter.

I certainly wouldn't fault anyone for thinking that, especially because it's partially true and I'll be the first to admit it. I misjudged how active this game was really going to be and how busy I would be. I really didn't have the time to play before my failed lynch, but I felt compelled to spend more of my free time ensuring certain things would happen and actually trying to actively hunt. Simultaneously though, I just have way more things taking up available free time than before my no lynch (when I mostly just had this game happening, whereas hosting Turf Wars now is taking up a buttload of time). Nonetheless, I won't sit here and lie and say it's not easier to sit back and coast more now that my suspicion has faded, become less invested in the game, and just not care as much about hunting as a result. Because all of that is true. I lack any sense of urgency at this point. Probably not fair to the rest of my civilian team, but it is what it is, especially since the hosts are lacking replacements (and there are about 4 or 5 players who would need them before me). I promise to try to recapture what I can going forward, but I also recognize my time and motivation limitations enough to be forthcoming with all of this.

What role are you assuming he claimed? I'm pretty sure he took responsibility for killing Zeebs, which leaves one role, which is not vanilla.
Zebra was killed by Bullock and I'd missed the fact he could track someone at night:
Detective Harvey Bullock
Bullock tracks or kills someone each Night. He has just one kill. Better make it a good one.

I somehow skipped over a bit and just read "he has one kill", leading me to assume that with his kill cashed in he was now powerless. Still, maybe the baddies just don't think a tracker is too big of a threat. Or maybe they don't buy his claim.
Lol the Matt in me thinks Bullz might be bad and didn't realize he should have killed Mac XD

There's a couple of things I'd like to re-assess but I certainly believe there is a case to be made for Typhoony. We are well in the mid-game now and after seven Day and Night phases, the core group of experienced and influential players from this site remains for all intents and purposes, intact. Some of you (e.g. yourself, DH, MP and many others) would've I thought, made first rate NK choices by a Mafia team and yet, they've not taken out any really vocal and as I say influential players - I think that is indicative and what Matt has been trying to tell us the last few Days. Having said that, I think I wouldn't be doing my job if I turned a blind eye to a player that I believe has been flying under the radar for the last seven days and nights.

I know a good many of you are suspicious of me and I'm yet to fully understand why but I have no intention of abandoning my brothers in arms to the Mafia in this game.

In World Reborn, who was the one who kept cautioning about doing anything obvious? Who was the one that got very tense about our plan to lynch Metalmarsh because it could expose us all? Who was the one panicking they would be obviously linked to you when the plan failed? Me. I was the one who was really concerned about the plan making it obvious who we are. It should also be noted that part of the reason we won that game is because I did not seem obviously linked to any of you.

The guy has numerous posts and nearly every single one of them devoid of substance. His votes are unsubstantiated. Where is there any questioning of him? Where is the interrogation of the type to which I've been subjected? And you still want me to buy that you two are impartial? I think not.
Your case was not ignored. It was irrelevant because the guy is dead. I don't condemn you for voting sprit. The core of my suspicion has nothing to do with Star Wars-- please read my posts.

Show me that you're town. Stop claiming I'm not impartial and refuting claims that I didn't make and go lynch a baddie-- something you've been hesitant to do all game.

I'll think on this.
I don't think TH is bad in the slightest. You won't get me no u'ing him.

I'm asking TH to think about his own behaviour before he judges me for mine.

On the other hand, Dom, you were VERY eager to jump on me.
I made a point, Golden. I said I'm going to think on it. I pressed someone who I think made an inconsistency in their narrative.

I think you no u'd me when you were quick to compare me to SVS in Recruitment, where if memory serves me right, she was bad.

You made an inconsistency. I think that's worth discussing.

Golden wrote:Yeah, clearly that didn't register with me as a likely exaplanation at all.

I don't understand why a civilian would give up. It's not in me.
I don't understand either, Golden, but you literally acknowledged it as a possibility, then in post-lynch claimed you wouldn't have voted had you known it was a possibility.

You are back pedalling so hard.

Golden, I have a hard time believing you didn't see this as an option.

I considered it but thought I was right. I wasn't.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 7]

I'm sorry sprit. :/
Turnip Head wrote:A sprityo lynch feels like the easiest thing we could possibly do, but hey look how the Floyd lynch turned out. I'm not convinced this will be a great result for us and will only serve to rid the thread of his idiosyncratic weirdness. Voting for Glorfy. If he's civ I want him to stop telling me that he's town and SHOW me that he's town.
I agree with the underlined sentiment entirely.

I bet if we cross reference the list of players who voted to go to locations other than the ones sabie went to with the list of say, Mac or Sprityo or w/e voter, we will end up with a pretty meaty case for her teammate(s).
I have not listened toany of them since the second. I know little about this theme, and they pretty much went over my head.
I believe her. She didn't submit any answers to my trivia game in BoB because she didn't want to google them.

Sprit.. so if not TH, then who?
