I concur. I'm really excited to see how they handle the later books in the series, as I think books 11, 12, and 13 are all stone-cold classics. If they can maintain the level of quality, while gradually becoming more dark and complicated, I'll be happy.

I'm not kidding about the dark and complicated part too, the last few books are basically Thomas Pynchon for kids.

let's say poe blocks a killer/blocker

and that killer blocker then sends in a pm killing and blocking herself

but she's blocked

so nothing happens.

DFaraday, two questions before I vote....

1) If a team only has one member left, can that member use their role power (like a block) + a kill at the same time?

2) If yes, then can that block be used to block the kill?

Yes you do. The Vfd exists.
The VFD doesn't help us that much at all. Especially since the mafia should know who they are. So just ignore the VFD and take out civs until they wi.

Personally I'd say if Sunny wasn't sure who to shoot they should aim for the VFD, no point in maybe killing townies. However, I think the chances of the civs winning this phase is high.

@Golden I'm pretty certain Dom is a civ, I don't think a mafia Dom would vote for.

Also do we think Poe was blocked last night? It could explain the no kill from Olaf, but there was an attempted kill. I'm very unsure here, the final baddies/baddie has to be between MP, Daisy, and Sorsha.

So I suggest we decide on one, I guess Sorsha, and go for it.

Jackofhearts2005 wrote:Additionally troubling is how the Sorsha reads turned from town to only possible mafia member overnight with no Sorsha posts inbetween.

What changed?

Why is Dom town? Dom's alignment is important for determining Sig's imo. (Cause I think hes a specific townie is unconvincing. I need reasons or at least key posts).

Linki: For the clear? I was mechanically cleared and nobody cared. Unconvincing argument. Why would Sorsha shoot herself? Why would the scum shoot Sorsha if she wasn't scum? No good answer to either of those questions.
There is either trust, or there isn't trust. All I want is a straight answer from you, are you going to stick with the town, or help the cult. That's all it comes down to now. The consequence for helping the cult is that, by pushing the day into extra phases, you could risk your own death. The consequence of helping the town is your buddy quin could lose. You're in a shit position.

I already gave you everything you needed to deduce dom's role, yesterday and today, if you want to try, so that you can get yourself in to the mindset of why dom is a townie. But, for me, it's just about picking a side at this point.
The thing that gets me is that if Sorsha is the last scummer and Sig gets lynched....so what? I don't see Poe, Sunny or Sorsha taking a shot at me tonight.

If Sig or Dom is the last scummer and Sorsha gets lynched...I'm probably dead. Sig and Dom have both proved unwilling to listen to me and more than happy to rid themselves of VFD players. Plus, the VFD won't know who to block.

So I need to be sure it's Sorsha and not Dom and/or Sig. Sorsha and Dom aren't posting anything helpful and Sig is openly hostile. Plenty of time to change that, though.

If you think you can end the game with or without me, have at it and good luck.
what is helpful to you?
i didn't intentially lynch a volunteer fire department member. I thought LC might be bad because I know shit about this game.

Sig's suggestion that Sunny shoot at the VFDs says he doesn't think the game ends today, which is troublesome.

Quin wrote:Golden, let's leave sig out of it for a moment.

Let's talk about Dom, using the logic I used to accuse sig. This isn't some 'if it applies to Dom, why doesn't it apply to sig' thing. I'm genuinely asking.

Dom voted to lynch LC, who would be very likely to have the bowl. The civs have no particularly strong reason to want the bowl out of play, given that lynches are their primary tool if they don't have a night kill. Do you agree? The baddies are the ones who want the bowl out of play, because it essentially leaves that townie/indy/other scum team member immune to their roles.
what exactly are you accusing me of here?
Quin wrote:
Golden wrote:I just have been working on a lot of deductive reasoning throughout the game. You get hints here and there, you put it together, you figure things out.

I wouldn't have voted you yesterday, either, but for Jack's vouching for LC, which confused me as to your role because I bumped you for LC. It's one of those things where I could be wrong all over the place, but I'm pretty sure I'm not, because things fit together well.

linki - :omg: you are so stubborn.

Why do sig or dom try to kill sorsha, quin? What sense does that make?
Night kill analysis isn't my thing. I'm more comfortable going off what I can read, and I can't read their BTSC chat.

Nobody wanted to lynch sig except for me, so I think he has free reign over the night kill. It's just another bucket of 'what' he could hide behind.

As for Dom, he's a low flier. Not sure he actually knows what's going on.

linki: I get that. It's not that I don't trust you. But I'm aware that your reason for wanting to clear those two could be wrong.
I have, never in my life, been accused of being a non-participant until y'all new people came in.

I skipped 30+ pages of the game when I replaced back in. So yeah, a bit confused. No one EVER offered a recap. And you all suck and lynched me in the first place.

On the flip side, the Troupe could just be missing their dead role check each night.
can people do group pms or nah?

Are you thinking of voting MP today?
Absolutely. I think it's extremely unlikely he's an Indy.
why
I said why already. That team has a dead role checker, and I profiled them to be likely to make some role hint based on the knowledge of the dead that they have. MP fit the profile very closely with his little Indy stunt.
but why
you could make that argument about anyone. this is nothing specific.

just like how apparently i'm bad because... you've decided so?

The good ol' Elohcin try.
 I just said why. I don't understand your question anymore. I thought about how the baddies might use a role on their team, I looked for behaviour that matched that, and MP matched it. What do you mean "why"?
why doesn't someone else acting like a certain role trip any alarms for you then? What is special about MP?
I don't understand. I have no reason to think MP is anything. I don't trust him at all. I just don't understand why you've attached yourself to MP. Any baddie could claim any dead persona they wanted.

Like your asking sig why he wasn't interested in finding the other mafia team...after he took the lead in the charge against the first mafia lynch.

And yes, it's true that wagering money on the outcome of a lynch could be illegal. Please refrain from that. It's in our site guidelines.
Epi, no offense, but you sound preachy and holier than thou when you post.
Yep. That's purposeful. Are you pissy and terse and failing to elaborate on things purposefully? If so, why?
Are you trying to piss me off right now or???

My concern is that the Troupe has that dead role checker, and that they will begin to try and hint at being roles that they know are dead and gone. It might have already happened.
Are you gonna answer the question?
My answer was a single syllable of derisive laughter. Translation: "No, I'm not a baddie. I don't think anyone really thinks I'm a baddie. Not only do the vote records really look good on me, so does my gameplay, and reasons beyond."

I'm here to help end this game as efficiently as possible for the Civvies, and I intend to do just that.

Oh, I've been playing the game. :mafia:
that's exactly what i'm worried about.

I haven't been. What makes you think I have specifically, and why is that notable?
lol

I didn't but okay.

who was/is josephine?

Not you.
Dom, there's really nothing substantial here. It'd be nice if you answered my questions instead of just putting "lol".
My retort to LC, my commentary on you ignoring the game for days on end, pointing out nonsense LC posted... all ignored because I thought your response to me was amusing.
Long Con wrote:Golden, I just facepalmed so damn hard I hurt my forehead.
Golden wrote:I see no reason to disbelieve MPs strong indy hinting. I've seen him do exactly this before, and when your win con is "They will win by surviving to the end", being no threat to the mafia and blatant to the town is the best way to avoid it.

I'd stake money on him being Fowl.
Ok. I'll take that bet. How much are we talking here? Seriously. If you're good for your word, then how about $50? I can Paypal.
Can we please not do this.
I do not find this funny, amusing, convincing, or in good spirit.

sig wrote:Okay can we please not lynch Dom or Epi, both would be distractions by the scum team.
I no longer think that Dom wasn't Josephine. I just think he subbed back in on the Troupe.
I honestly think LC is mafia and I think right now we're in a bad place. I need to do some more digging, but why wasn't sprityo saved and why didn't LC vote for him?
DDL was my suspect. At the time I voted for DDL, I had two votes and sprit had two votes, and my vote put DDL to two votes. I wasn't in "lynch survival mode" by the votes at the time... plus I was immune that day due to the Reptile Challenge.
This is rich.
Why?
Give one reason why.
You sound just like Elohcin. She never once gave a reason for suspecting me. You've backed off your only reason to.
