The amount of detail that went into this game is absolutely insane. MP, bravo! I'm sad Zodac killed me so early because I was just getting into my role of Bob. :feb: Congrats to the winners! You deserved it! And here's to another year of Mafia!

I absolutely LOVED it. I cannot wait to see it adapted for the stage. It was extremely well done-- something I think anyone could enjoy. It's rivaling Lion King as best Disney movie IMO.

I'll just say we didn't watch it in a theatre and proceeded to order pizza right after the movie, so no I didn't do that. :p But it did make me want to buy all the sheet music so I can learn both Anna and Elsa's parts, gender roles be damned. I also would love to attempt to sing Hans :D
I would love to see the movie. I am sure my daughter would love it too. I have been asked to do a Frozen themed birthday cake and have been given full freedom over the design. Most of the time, clients will send pictures of what they want. So I am very excited for this cake XD .

Day 3 it's Lizzy.

Shit or get off the pot.
This type of stuff always catches my eye. People saying that they WILL vote someone for days, but never actually doing it. It's just noncommittal stuff that I think generally leads to baddies.

Well, I'm really really sorry I missed the vote. I just moved back into school and I've ben very busy. On top of that, we watched Frozen today, and right after that, the snow picked up here. I live on an island and the internet gets spot if the snow is bad. :/ And I was also dreading leaving my friends room to check if the wifi was better in my building. (12-18 inches isn't exactly fun to walk in). So, I missed the vote. :( TBH, I probably would have voted Lizzy. I'm sorry to see her go. :/

I have seen a couple people either not getting what my point was or deliberately trying to make me look bad, but either way I will explain my "safest" comment. If Epi had been right and Zodac had targeted INH, then he presumably could not target him again, thereby making it the safest vote a civ could place by voting INH. However this is all meaningless in light of the fact that INH was killed, we saw nothing from Zodac and the poll is a giant mindfuck. But my original point (though null because of those missed details when I posted it) is nothing suspicious nor is it all that very confusing.
Thank you for clarifying! :)

It's true, I voted for bea after many others had done so. However, I feel that the bea voters (including myself) all independently considered the evidence for her civness. You and Hedge, on the other hand, seemed to follow a train of thought that went "I think Elo is civ because Epig said so." And that's what felt like a bandwagon: jumping on the conclusion made by another charismatic player without further consideration.
agreed here completely. Trusting Epig's read of Elo when Epig's alliance is very much in question doesn't make sense to me.
I have felt good about Epig despite our disagreements on strategy. I do not remember him being wrong about his wife as of yet. I could see him lying about this, but I don't think he is.

Bullz, I'm sorry I wasn't clear that I didn't mean YOU called it a bandwagon. I was speaking generally using your post as jumping point.

Boomslang voted for Bea. He called the Elo votes a bandwagon. Four elo voters. One is herself. The other is her husband. The other is me. The other is hedge. I have similar as hedge for voting Elo.

However, Boomslang votes on a person who got the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 25th votes (His being he 25th).

So basically you're voting her because Epi did? I guess I just don't agree with the reasoning. Maybe it is a civ Epi noticing a civ Elo but that's just one of many factors. She could've gotten better at fooling him, they could be bad together, he could be a baddie trying to set her up, or a baddie trying to make her think he's civ by supporting her. There's no way to know and I wouldn't want to base my vote on his or anyone else's in that way.

I'm gonna vote for myself actually, there's nobody I majorly trust at this point.
I see two scenarios in which we should be concerned:
1) Elo is bad and Epig is bad
2) Elo is bad and Epig is good.

Epig's alignment really has nothing to do with whether Elo is good or not.

Interesting that people called four people voting Elo a bandwagon and then Bea got six votes.

I feel like he's making an awful lot of assumptions about Zodac's powers remaining unchanged (I honestly don't believe MP would do that). While I still do wish that I had held off on voting, I can understand the logic of at least making another attempt today and seeing if either a lynch doesn't occur or if someone else gets lynched instead. Because information is power, and it's just a perfect day. I'm glad I spend it with you.

As for my vote, I honestly thought the poll ended yesterday. So I freaked out when I thought I had 15-20 minutes left to vote and 5 pages to catch up on. So I skimmed really quickly and placed a vote on redacted a minute before I thought the poll closed. When it didn't, I was confused and went and looked at the day and time it ended, and realized I got the day wrong. So yeah, I screwed up.

I do have a question for you though. Why are you willing to trust Epig so much when you've admitted that he's backpedaling? Because I don't see insistence being a good enough reason to go along with someone.
I am not "Trusting" epig. I am willing to hear what he has to say because I don't see his baddie game, even if he is back peddling. I see an Epig who is genuinely (maybe too genuinely concerned with Zodac. I understand the role is powerful, but we can't live in fear every day. After all, Urinetown is any town that lives in fear. I hope someone gets that reference.

1) I see some people have mentioned the idea that SVS was the intended target based on the theory that the kill had not been redirected. I'm not sure how they came to that conculsion though because looking at the way the night post is writ, I originally took it as Nev was the intended target, but svs was the one who ended up catching the bullet so to speak. Even as I re-read it, it feels to me that the svs kill was more of an afterthought than an intended thing. Are we assuming the Nev attempt was for story telling? Am I missing something here? Another thing I thought is no one seems to be wondering about how the manipulaters got two kills? Was this something to do with the chaos or do we maybe think someone on that team got the plazmid and used it? Or was it part of being in rapture? I need help trying to figure this out.

Night 1: Dream Your Troubles Away

Nevinera was sleeping soundly on a bench in Arcadia Tea Garden when an unknown assailant walked up from behind and shot him in the back of the head.

The echo of the gunshot could be heard throughout Rapture.

A few hours later, another gunshot was heard. Two kills? Some players wondered. What a dangerous place! The only thing to do was to go back to sleep, or continue sleeping, and await the morning.

It turns out S~V~S was meandering around the Farmer's Market when she was suddenly shot in the back of the head as well.
And she never even got to see if they were selling any New York Mets hats! (Answer: they weren't).

Somehow, Nevinera survived. He reached his hand and felt the back of his head. "Strange..." he observed.

Nevinera has survived a kill attempt by the Manipulators.
S~V~S has been killed by The Manipulators.

To be continued...
I took it as two separate kills, but I could see it the way you're describing now.

Epignosis wrote:Dom, I accidentally closed the tab where I was writing you back. But here's the gist of my thoughts:

First, I don't trust that person, insofar as the positive connotations of that verb go. I believe he is telling the truth, nothing more. Apparently, most people believe he is who he says he is. If he could target roles to not be redirected (a claim I yet wonder about), then they make the most logical sense. Pick Zodac to protect yourself, and pick the killer, because he knows they didn't choose him to kill (he's the #1 lynch candidate) and he doesn't want that kill to potentially be redirected to him. All that makes sense to me.

Second, if he is who we think he is, then lynching him is a wasted lynch with A Person gone, is it not? Think about that. As for derailing the thread, that's not his fault. If people ignore him, that stops happening. I've been accused of that before (most notably and recently in LOST) and it's a silly thing to say. People can ignore him.

Third, no, I don't know his win condition.

Fourth, EVEN IF HE IS BAD, I would be screaming the same thing from the rooftops. Some people seem to think I'm defending that individual: I am not. I do not want Zodac to wreak the havoc I saw in Masters of the Universe. I saw him play the others many, many times over.

I saw it, but you may have missed it Dom, because you went MIA in that one. ;)
Epig, here is my confusion:
You acknowledged that the chaos would have totally distorted the results of who targeted who. YOU said that. Why are you back peddling? Because AFTER you said that, it was conveniently mentioned that three roles (WHAT????? since when do players target ROLES???? That would be super powerful) were exempt. This is after a lie about a machine that spat out suspicious names has been fabricated for attention and power. And you choose to believe him? If of any day, this seems the best one to just do a straight lynch.
HOWEVER, I am willing to trust you on this because you're so insistent. I just do not see many good alternatives. I do have some thoughts that I will be outlining later though. I would like your feedback on them.

FYI, I do feel bad about forgetting I was playing MOTU. School hit hard :/

Seeing as I've killed more baddies then anyone else in the game, I'll give it a shot. A Person being bad makes me really suspect her two compatriots, Vomps and Lizzy. Lizzy has been actually participating, and coming off pretty civ, but Vompatti is barely posting. And when he does post, it's the same vague BS he always does. Seeing as that's really all we have to go on makes him my top suspect right now.
really? how many baddies have you killed?

SHIT

Just a perfect day
drink Sangria in the park
And then later
when it gets dark, we go home

Just a perfect day
feed animals in the zoo
Then later
a movie, too, and then home

Oh, it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spend it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on

Just a perfect day
problems all left alone
Weekenders on our own
it's such fun

Just a perfect day
you made me forget myself
I thought I was
someone else, someone good

Oh, it's such a perfect day
I'm glad I spent it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on

Why are people voting for him?

Listen.

1. MovingPictures07 just said the Night closed when it closed.

2. The individual you voted for is pretty much neutered now that A Person is gone (unless anyone else decides to start being cute).

3. If Zodac targeted him, you will wind up lynching someone else. In other words, you could be voting for yourself.

The poll doesn't close until tomorrow evening, and people are coming in here, not reading the thread, and voting now?
#1) Why do you assume that Our Lovely Friend here is telling the truth about everything? He reads as very desperate. He reads as clinging onto whatever shred will save him.
#2) So let's say we don't lynch him today. Tomorrow, do we lynch him? Do we ever lynch him? Do we let him completely derail the thread forever? We haven't had any real discussions about anyone else.
Epignosis wrote:Furthermore, we basically just had a bonus lynch. A potentially revelatory one at that.

And people are coming in here voting for an outed, neutralized independent?

:eye:
Do YOU know his win condition, Epig? Why do you trust him????
I'm not claiming to know his win condition, but I am saying that you trust him far more than you should. It makes zero sense to trust him, even if his win condition is what he says. He has totally derailed the thread.
Why do you trust him?

If OK Computer is telling the truth, then S~V~S' kill would most likely not be an accident.
Why? I understand he said he didn't randomize Moriarty (if you believe he got to pick those three ROLES (not players??)), but then, where did the second kill come from?
Kate wrote:
juliets wrote:I am worried about the specter of Zodac in this vote today. Given how he operates I have to believe he picked Media as one of his two people last night and god knows who as his other person (thanks Epig for the explanation of the role). So, I feel better waiting to vote for Media until the 3rd day. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave me with a great candidate to vote today. I'm considering one of the VAL's but I'm not totally convinced anymore that Lizzie is bad, and I'm not sure about Vomps or A Person either.

On the other hand, maybe I'm worrying too much about Zodac. Maybe he would just kill Media and we'd be done with it. How are the rest of you feeling that are considering a vote for Media? Mongoose, I'd love to hear your thoughts but you are really constrained with respect to being able to discuss freely. Maybe you could try and I'll see if I get it. Everyone else, I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.
I am so epically far behind, but I'm going to post this now and then keep reading because I'll forget it later.

Why is it more likely that Zodac picked that guy for day 2 than it is that he is holding off for day 3? And how is it that we are so sure that Zodac has the same ability in this game as he did in his former game (He-Man, IIRC)? If the post from Epig came right at dawn and day was over, I think i'd be more on board with this but it didn't...and furthermore it was followed by an extended night to get PMs in per MP. I know not the whole next day but for a while. I guess I'd rather go with what seems like a sure thing than to shoot fish in a barrel and have a repeated day 1.

This theory just has a lot of holes in it, it seems.
Kate, this is the second time it has been pointed out to you, but MP was not accepting any PMs after the post he made about extending the night. I don't trust our Neighborhood Attention Whore anymore than you do, but no PMs could have been changed once MP made that post.
Attention Whore wrote: I highly doubt that MP would just change the role into something completely different. He generally keeps a roles major powers, and alters little things about them. Zodac has to choose someone to siphon votes from everyday. Why wouldn't he choose me, the only person people have been talking about for the last 2 days? Of course, we don't know if he held off until tomorrow, but we have no way to know if he did or didn't.
How do you know what MP "generally" did for this game? What would the point of secrets be? What do you think of Epig's thoughts on how TSE doesn't seem to have any of his original powers in the game? I don't believe a single word out of your mouth.
Bullzeye wrote:
Kate wrote: You completely ignore that this was mentioned in the thread with hours til night end and his power could have been switched, IF THAT IS HIS POWER in this game (which is not a FACT).
I think it'd be reasonable to assume that Zodac's power is still pretty much the same as it used to be, with just a slight tweak if necessary to make it fit better in the game. I can't think of a role on the list that has drastically changed from what it first was.

Just a perfect day
Problems all left alone

I'm never going to be able to listen to this song now, I'll associate it with having to post its lyrics in this game all day.
What would the point be of (Secrets), then?

Some people seem to be assuming an awful lot, and it makes me raise a brow or two.

I did not see anything in the host post that looked contrived by someone else.

I did write fake kill attempts into the Night posts in Avant 2, but they were never listed in the section that says "Player A has survived a kill by Team X."

(Remember the awesome time we said S~V~S had only two days to live and everyone believed it?)
Now that you mention that specific incident, I do remember that. :D

I was The Sinister Exaggerator in my first win here. My ability was that I doubled my team's voting power while alive and that I could make up shit to put in the host post.

1. Because of Rumplestiltskin, I don't see TSE having the first power (that would give them a voting bloc of 16 potentially).

2. Because I didn't see anything that seemed out of it with the host post, I don't see TSE having the second power.

That means The Sinister Exaggerator has a completely different power.

Like exaggerating people's Night powers.

And if Paranoid Android is Media and caused chaos...

Why do you think that TSE does not have the add to the night post power?
