I'm not sure who I'm voting for. Probably Typh. He confirmed TH's false Riddler story, and if I can't get peeps on board with TH, then Typh seems like the next best thing.

What do you think of Typh?
I'm not sure. :ponder: I need to look at him again. I need to look at everyone again, frankly... it's a wonder I'm posting as much as I even am now, so unfortunately, unless I find time to set aside for this game soon, I won't be getting that chance.

If I had to place him right now, I'd say his in my top five most likely places to get my vote, along with the three I mentioned earlier (including all inactives as one "spot") and adding DFaraday as well.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 8]

I've heard enough. If Glorfindel really is analyzing everyone else's posts and wants to live, he should be able to name just one suspect or point to ONE post where he's shown some sort of mindset interested in hunting. I gave him plenty of chances to do so. So have many others. I gave him one final chance today, but he failed to either name a single suspect (yet emphasized he has been analyzing others' posts) and failed to point to just one post where he has displayed townie-minded baddie hunting, despite me saying this is exactly what I needed from him. Voting Glorfindel

Not sure when I'll be back, my time going forward this week will be limited to make up for last week/earlier this week.

I just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring again this time for another inactive lynch. I may or may not go the same way tomorrow though. Just gotta see when I'll have some time to actually put more than a half-assed effort in the game at this point, since hosting is taking up a bunch of time.
@MP - my friend, you have gone from defending me at one point saying something to the effect that you would look suspiciously upon anyone who voted for me to advocating my lynching - and all of this seemingly based on a comparison between my playstyle in Star Wars and this game. I'm asking you now to explain what it is precisely that you identified in that comparison to lead you to such an apparent about face - it must surely have been something conclusive to have led you to such a change of heart.
Glorf, sorry I haven't answered this before now. I've been swamped hosting another game among many other things.

I did say that I would view anyone who bandwagoned onto you and didn't discuss anyone else a few cycles ago with suspicion, yes. But since then, the game has developed, and I still have yet to see any real town-minded effort from you with regards to discussing suspects and actual hunting; rather, you seem way more interested in defending yourself over and over again, but by telling us how you're an obvious townie and trying to play off of emotional posts, rather than show us posts where you have exhibited town-minded hunting behavior.

I rightfully view that with suspicion.
MP, your post disappoints me greatly. There are a number of things you've said there that are incidental to the outcome of this game that I will address later down the track. Let me say for now that it is difficult to not look like you're constantly defending yourself when you are subject to sustained false accusations as I have been by those of you who insist on making unsubstantiated claims about my playstyle being similar to that of Star Wars (where I was Mafia). Despite that, I have been doing my best (and spent considerable time and energy) to analyse other player's post. But then no one notices although whether that is deliberate and convenient who knows
/difficult to look like he's not constantly defending himself
/proceeds to do practically nothing but defend himself
/says he is doing his best to analyze other player's post
/doesn't name a single suspect

I don't need to pretend to hunt. I have hunted plenty. I have helped several people get lynched (I wouldn't say I was instrumental, but certainly was a part of some of the lynches). I was wrong on sprit, and I was right on others. I don't need to pretend because I've been hunting this whole game. I have had a clear suspect list. I have asked for several others' opinions on the current topics-- most of them haven't answered me.

So don't flip this on me. I asked you two questions. If you don't want to answer them, fine, but don't pretend you want to "question everybody".
I'm not pretending anything. My sentiment is exactly how I expressed it; I don't think anyone should take anyone else's town-ness for granted. That's all I mean.

I think your reply here is more than satisfactory. Maybe I was deflecting for a reason of my own. ;)

For the record, Dom, I'm not the Scarecrow, and I am too busy to play mafia (and it'll be why I quit for a long while after this game is over). If you don't believe either of those statements, that's your prerogative.

Because I don't understand why you're even asking these questions, or why you think they have any merit whatsoever. It's like asking "what color is the sky, MP?", except not quite that blatant. What are you really going to uncover about me by asking these questions?

Rather, I get the interpretation that you're just asking them to seem as though you're involved and hunting, when you ask things like this. It's possible that's why I read you as mafia so often.

What would you say to the accusation that you only played hard enough to get suspicion off you and are now coasting?
I certainly wouldn't fault anyone for thinking that, especially because it's partially true and I'll be the first to admit it. I misjudged how active this game was really going to be and how busy I would be. I really didn't have the time to play before my failed lynch, but I felt compelled to spend more of my free time ensuring certain things would happen and actually trying to actively hunt. Simultaneously though, I just have way more things taking up available free time than before my no lynch (when I mostly just had this game happening, whereas hosting Turf Wars now is taking up a buttload of time). Nonetheless, I won't sit here and lie and say it's not easier to sit back and coast more now that my suspicion has faded, become less invested in the game, and just not care as much about hunting as a result. Because all of that is true. I lack any sense of urgency at this point. Probably not fair to the rest of my civilian team, but it is what it is, especially since the hosts are lacking replacements (and there are about 4 or 5 players who would need them before me). I promise to try to recapture what I can going forward, but I also recognize my time and motivation limitations enough to be forthcoming with all of this.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 8]

It's a minor point. Glorfindel wanted me to address the above post, so I did; in it, he mentioned I defended him, so that's what I was addressing. It's clear from my ISO that I never once thought Glorfindel was town. Rather, I consistently expressed an opinion that he was probably an inmate, but over the past few cycles I've considered other anti-town roles as well (mafia). I strongly do not think he is town; if he is, he hasn't given us tangible anything to work with, which will be disappointing.

I definitely endorse his lynch today, unless he's able to defend himself as I suggested (above).

I know it's a weak vote, but there are still (by my count) 4 inactives remaining: Bass, Bubbles, ekeknat, and Equivocate, and it seems to me the mafia will never NK them (and why should they?). It makes more sense to rid them now, rather than save them for endgame and risk a scenario in which there are 6 players, 1 of which is mafia, 4 of which are inactive, and the other 1 is civilian. Then we lose.

Well, I suppose we wouldn't need to if the remainder of them were all GCPD or something. I'll entertain that that's possible, but they're just as statistically likely to have rolled mafia or inmate as anyone else, and they're giving us no information by which to judge them for it, so if even one of them is left alone and is mafia, then we'll have to lynch them eventually.

Until then, I'm pretty much swamped today with phd work, so I might as well vote. I'm not feeling the SVS suspicion as much these days, but I do find Glorf, sprit, and no show votes attractive. With our luck last time and given they eventually need to be lynched anyway, in addition to the fact that I haven't been able to really hunt at all lately, I'm gonna go with a no show.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 6]

At this point in time I think I would prefer a lynch as follows:
1) SVS
2) Glorfindel
3) sprityo
4) no show

I also don't really particularly suspect Enrique anymore, but I'm keeping an eye on him. I think I was being a bit over critical in my analysis of his behavior.

Dom wrote:If we're talking about SVS, I think we should talk about whether or not her emotional lashing out over Mac's role claim indicates she is bad. She voted for Mac right before he claimed. She might be lashing out as a reaction of now potentially looking bad. I know SVS HATES role claims (so do I, and their use in this game does not look to be stopping), but she was a bit manipulative with her posts.

These two posts are what I'm talking about.
Now, this is not NEARLY has manipulative or guilt trip inducing as posts in A World Reborn (I'm thinking of the sad bear post), so I'm not nearly as convinced. What do we think of this?

If I had to pick who might be Sabie's teammate(s) between LoRab and SVS, I'd say maybe SVS. Between those two and Matt? I'm not liking Matt these days. I think Glorfindel is acting very bad and sprit is bad too.
I agree.

I'm not sure I can explain why, but Lorab has seemed very genuine to me.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 6]

Dom, nice observations on sprityo and Glorfindel. I also agree heavily with TH that Glorf is playing way differently than he did in Pikmin, and I hosted that game.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 6]

I'm confused as to what "getting in trouble" with me has relevance to anything, or even is a thing that happens. But maybe that's neither here nor there.

Okay not "incredibly terrible" but "scummy."

Re: Arkham Mafia [Night 5]

All, I'm still behind, my apologies. My attention mafia-wise has been entirely toward Rocky & Bullwinkle. I'll get re-situated ASAP.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 5]

Ack, sorry all, but I'm not feeling good at all today (unexpectedly) and it's thrown a wrench in any free time I thought I'd get. I'll be better up to speed by d6 presumably.

I voted sabie because through a quick skim it seems she hasn't addressed mine or anyone else's concerns, and I don't fathom any reason for a civilian to propose that I killed sig and ignore direct questions.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 5]

Sorry all for not being around, it's been busy. Likely won't be around much during this d5; it has bad timing. I'll see when I have some time.

Re: Arkham Mafia [Day 5]

EBWOP: I will admit it was a ton of fun actually getting people to listen to me re: suspicions and such though. :mafia:

Alright, :offtobed:, or offtoPhDworkandbedwheneverIfinish emoticon, whatever that is.
