Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [Da

Hey all, sorry again for my behavior. I especially want to apologize to Epi, indi, and our wonderful llama host since it was their posts I lashed out against. I dun goofed by not going to the MoD and just walking away. I can't stress that enough; the Mod on Duty function is there and I think many of us, myself even included, aren't taking full advantage of its purpose. I want to thank Llama for hosting the great game and a big thanks to Matt for stepping in for me at this time. I'll be out for good now.

I absolutely detest getting stressed out by these games, but it doesn't seem to ever matter how much work I really have to do or how much I try not to involve myself in the game, it always eventually lands me in trouble now that I'm in the PhD program it seems. I just am battling some inner demons (and have been throughout the program) and I let my recent sense of insecurity with regards to my current (lack of, or at least that's my feeling) progress in the program spill over into the game. It's my own fault, really. I'm putting this in green because I don't feel it is appropriate for me to say anything else on-topic, but I realize that in the end all of what I'm saying will inevitably influence the game -- I wanted all of this to be said regardless. Even though I've flirted with taking playing breaks over the last half a year, I think I just really need to force myself away from playing for a while, get some perspective, and at least get through the next couple of semesters first. I took a couple of month break missing out on Recruitment, Champions, etc., but apparently it just doesn't matter because of everything I'm dealing with throughout the program. I just don't get any real social interaction in any aspect of my life right now, and you all are truly awesome and a treasured part of my life, so that's what keeps dragging me back into playing. I just really enjoy playing these games with you all so much. It's a weird conundrum.

Anyway, I'll be definitely around with Smashfest, other OT stuff, and I'm more than happy to host mafia games too -- that isn't nearly as stressful an experience for me. Guess I'll just have to exercise more self-discipline re: playing. For those of you who signed up for Turf Wars, I'll see you there soon.

Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [Da

Everyone, I'm sorry. The last thing I want to do is create nastiness or drama in the thread and I did just that. I clearly should have vented to the MoD or stepped away from the game. It's a wonderful game, Llama, really, but I just don't think I can play anymore -- and it's nothing personal. So please replace me now if you can. I love playing mafia games, but I really should keep the playing aspect out of my life for a while. It's too damn stressful amid everything else, and every time I think I have the emotional capacity to handle them, it turns out to be false. Please accept my apologies, everyone, for ruining this game, and please just continue onward. If you suspect me, great, then lynch me. I just don't have the motivation to continue anymore.

Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [Da

I'm voting for myself. Just lynch me. I refuse to play a game in which I spend hours of my time hunting my own ways, trying to get people to participate, only to have my methods denounced and for people to be rude to me. You all suspect me anyway so just get it over with. This is one of the most unfun times I've ever had in a game, and this is perhaps the most uncollaborative threads I've ever seen.

CFDs can work by catching the mafia off guard. I thought none of the candidates for lynch were mafia and I stand by that, SO I FUCKING SUGGESTED SOMEONE ELSE. PEOPLE FOLLOWED ME. END OF STORY. STOP BLAMING ME FOR THIS.

I know I suck at mafia, I'm tired of it getting thrown in my face by literally every player in this thread, but especially Epi, and now even the host. Can we please just stop denouncing methods used by other people? It's really fucking irritating.

I'm sorry if all of that sounded too cranky; it probably was. But I meant what I said and I would be happy to answer specific questions or concerns about whatever. But I think enough negativity and blame is being surfaced around and not enough mafia hunting. Bea basically came in the thread and lectured me, said duh Elo is town, and I didn't get really much else out of her. I would like to hear what others think of the following players:

Long Con
Sorsha
Scotty
sprityo

I would also still like to know exactly why Sorsha followed me yesterday because  or I trusted you blindly is not really a substantive reason.

Bea I don't know what I would I have said in indi's position and I don't think it's productive in the slightest to dwell on why CFD sucks or why I shouldn't have voted indi or poor indi whatever. I started a mislynch. I take responsibility for that. But it doesn't matter now, I laid out my thought process clear as day as to the posts I thought were her lying. Sorsha and SVS believed I was into something. That's it. I'm tired of being made out as Mr. Oh you fucked up because you started a CFD train. This is not a productive way for the thread to go. Let's catch baddies and stop dwelling on a mislynch.

Those are two of the harder players to read right now in my opinion.

They both, from what I can tell anyway, seem to be staying out of the limelight of the game; they haven't received a ton of attention and they're far from supatowning it up by providing opinions on players. Long Con's approach is very "makes a comment here and there, but commits to nothing major" IMO, whereas Wilgy is just being an enigma. I really don't understand where his opinions are coming from.

What do you think of them?

I just keep going back and forth on you. You sounded genuine when talking about being seduced and vouching for sloon. Now that you say it's because you have a lot of experience playing with him, I get the feeling you could be bad and just going to use a sloon flipping civ to make you look good. I can never read you and it drives me crazy.
If I was his civilian BTSC partner, would you expect me to admit it in thread and get myself modkilled? I would hope not. I have given my reason for trusting Sloonei; he is oozing town-minded posts, and I stand by that. If you think I'm lying or whatever, that's your prerogative; I get mislynched all the time, so it'd be nothing new if most folks didn't believe me.

I do have more experience playing with him than pretty much anyone else here. zebra is second I think.

Lastly, (sorry I meant to say this before but I didn't think of it) I was OK with myself getting lynched over Sloonei at first during EoD d2 because we had the same number of votes, I was still inactive and was convinced I wouldn't properly get into the game in time, and I could see that he had heavily invested himself, particularly more than I had, and had a firmer grasp on the game. I was willing to make that sacrifice for the better of town, at least at first, but I'd rather not die now frankly if I don't have to.

Also, I'd argue that Epi has been tiptoeing that line a bit with a claim of his own ;) but I think it's up to interpretation whether he just feels very strongly (as I do about Sloonei) regarding you and Blooper, or whether he does have BTSC with one of you as well. Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [N

One thing to think about is that this game can be solved by POE given its setup, in addition to the fact that Epi seems to be claiming very confident civilian reads in two other players. If both of those reads are correct and Epi is also civilian, then together with myself being civilian and a very confident civilian read in Sloonei, that narrows the suspect list to:

zebra, bea, Wilgy, LC, sabie, Scotty, sprityo, and S~V~S maximum.

If civilians can make connections like this because they are communicating with each other and genuinely producing town-minded behavior that can be spotted, and no one is otherwise being duped, it gets us one step closer to endgame.

It's also why I hinted it to the thread at least once, see this post:

This is EXACTLY how I interpreted MP's post as well.
And what of it? What's the point -- how does it affect your read of me? Otherwise, this comment gives the indication that you're contributing when you're not really providing any game-related opinion.
Everyone else is allowed to say every little thing that crosses their minds, why not me?
I just don't understand what your point was, if you had one, or if this influenced how you read me so I could address it.
If it influences how I read you, its very minimal. I try not to judge you quickly b/c I am usually wrong about you. As of right now I am leaning slightly baddie on you. Its mainly because you seem to be rattling off names and acting more involved than you actually are. But I am not ready to make a solid decision on you yet.
I appreciate the elaboration, thanks.

However, consider me a bit perplexed, especially because it seems I'm getting a similar meta argument from zebra. You think that the more engaged I am, then it equates with me being a mafia read? Is this typical or something you've newly developed? In addition, you say I'm acting more involved than "usual", but I don't quite understand by what standard you're judging my behavior. My behavior was incredibly below my usual bar until just EoD of this past cycle. You're telling me that if I had continued to be perpetually behind that you would not suspect me?

Not willing to take responsibility for your own vote?

Consider my eye on you much more heavily going into d3.
Sorry bub. You lead that and I fell for it hook, line and sinker. As soon as indi had enough votes you bailed. I suggest everyone take what you say with a grain of salt. In fact you'd be my number one choice to lynch tomorrow, just so we can see what your true intentions were today. I think you were trying to save one of the players who had votes.
I'm not afraid of you. The moment I flip civilian, I would implore with the highest priority that you be lynched next.

You still haven't explained why you found my posts compelling or what in my arguments you found compelling, so consider that a bad look, in addition to the fact that you apparently are blaming me for all of this. Typical mafia agenda.

Sorsha is also on my suspect list. Just had a look at her posts this game, and it's pretty lean, and yet she was Cheers-ing the CFD idea. Why, Sorsha?
Why not? :shrug2: I didn't have anyone I suspected enough to put a vote on. MP comes in like a madman with a plan. The way i was looking at his posts was like GTH reads. He was catching up/reading the thread quickly and giving his reads as he went. Don't blame me for all this, I was just one vote.
I don't think anyone is blaming just you, but you should take responsibility for the mislynch as much as me, which you don't seem to be doing.

You also have yet to explain what it was specifically that you found compelling about my thoughts on indiglo. Care to do that?

Can you elaborate on this in any way? I know you can read her and Elo well, but it'd be nice for me to understand where your thought process is coming, rather than just something to the effect of "trust me, they're good, and anybody could tell if they read the thread".
If I can read them well, then it isn't a thought process I can explain, is it?
Sure, it is. Just point to a post and tell me why you think that post shows a townie mindset of whoever it is.

Need to do some investigation going into d3, but I've already spent way too more time goofing off today than I should be.

Also, can my yellow reads please come in here and post more? I can't judge your content because there's not enough of it. Thanks.

Re: Rocky and Bullwinkle - The Legend of Frostbite Falls [N

Also, I somewhat disagree with Sloonei. I think it's entirely possible the mafia team sat back and watched the indiglo CFD happen and laughed their asses off. There could be a mafia or two on it, sure, but I won't discount the possibility that they all voted elsewhere. Because who would want their hands on that disastrous mislynch?
