Re: A Mafia Year [FULL]

Spoiler: show

It is with sadness that I must announce that A Mafia Year has not been allowed to enter the Full game queue. Yes, that's right. Not "not selected". Not allowed. As you can tell, A Mafia Year does not show up in the new selection of full games.

A Mafia Year was perfectly designed to fit the current standards for a Full Game:

- Any number of players [A Mafia Year would have the conventional minimum of 21, in fact]
- Any number of non-vanilla roles [emphasis on "any"]
- Recommended Day/Night cycles are 48/24 or 36/12 [I would have argued for a 24/24 exception, instead, to fit the flavor and mechanics of the game, but talks haven't even gotten that far]

Alas, it appears only one previous Full game was favored to run with its, so to speak, "long-ass" format, not to mention even get awarded for that - a priviledge that apparently doesn't extend anymore to other Hosts, chasing their own grand designs and big dreams. :shrug2:

I find this personally distressing and a sign of the site perhaps heading on a dark path, but what can a mere Host like myself do. My fellow co-hosts dunya and Aeris are equally disquieted. I dread that one day a 25-player game might end up considered too large and a "hindrance" for this site.

Contact your local representatives and ask them to revoke the ban on A Mafia Year as a Full Game.

Okay then.

Since Rico decided to make this post, I just thought I should clearly communicate why his game was rejected by the admin team for the Full game queue: It would take too long to play (longer than a few months) and would clog up the queue unfairly to other hosts and players, so we countered by letting him make it a Special Game and run it as soon as he desires. We approached Minimalism Mafia, a game designed to take roughly the same amount of time (anywhere between a month and over a year), the same way.
