Finally getting into Black Mirror. Watched Season 4 first, now I'm going through Seasons 1-3 binge style. Really crazy and great stuff, even if exhausting and depressing.

Tell me about this show. I belong to the No-Nothing party
The series centers on Prairie Johnson, an adopted young woman who resurfaces after having been missing for seven years. Upon her return, Johnson calls herself "The OA", exhibits scars on her back, and can see, despite having been blind when she disappeared. The OA refuses to tell the FBI and her adoptive parents where she has been and how her eyesight was restored, and instead quickly assembles a team of five locals to whom she reveals that information, also explaining her background story. Finally, she asks for their help to save some other missing people who she claims are currently in the same situation she has described to them. ~Wikipedia
Something like that, yeah. :nicenod:

Without spoiling the show, I usually tell people it's a show about near-death experiences.

Re: Whatcha Watchin? (Spoiler Free)

Posted this on Facebook, but figured I should here too.

Just finished binge watching Rick and Morty ("about time", you're probably thinking). Despite the insane amount of praise I've seen, I was skeptical that it would be for me, because even though I absolutely love The Simpsons and Futurama, I was never a fan of Family Guy, South Park, and other shows that rely on too much silly or dark humor, and I can be picky when it comes to TV shows and movies. Nonetheless, although a few episodes weren't quite as stellar, I can say that the hype is definitely deserved. Rick and Morty is a really great show, an incredibly unique combination of heartfelt emotion, silly humor, dark humor, sci fi absurdity, and just pure WTF factor. And that ending to Season 2! Now I just want to watch it all again. I've almost never thought that about other shows, even really solid ones. Can't wait for Season 3.

So far s2 still hit it right with me, followed maybe by s4 > s3.

Aaand season 1 went by fast in two sits, because the whole thing is kinda short. I only laughed consistently at Book Club so far. Dat Swanson face when he realized he has to sit through Leslie's confession rather than having it on e-mail was priceless. Fat Pratt is pretty fat; and good, I can see why they kept him. Paul Schneider needs to go oh wait he will woo.

Ok, season 2 ep 4 was insane. That's more like it.

So season 2 was hella fun, but I'm not feeling it with season 3, at least the first half. Say it isn't so. :scared:

Rashida Jones needs to go...damn, I should have known lightning doesn't struck twice.
Don't worry, Parks and Rec is definitely good. And definitely worth it. Season 1 wasn't great, but it gets better.

Nope, and don't really feel like I could get into it. While I was wrong about BB, I just don't see GoT having the premise to even suck me in.

Like, I didn't really like the premise of Breaking Bad before watching it, but I knew that the humanity of it would pull me in. Same with Walking Dead, but I could see even the premise being reasonable enough for me to watch.

Game of Thrones just doesn't do that for me.
I feel pretty similarly re: GoT.

Four episodes in a week. I finished Breaking Bad in about 3 weeks-ish.
I'm glad to find someone else who is squeamish about Walking Dead. I watched the first two and gave up. I also don't watch GoT or The Following for the same reason.
So far the first two are the worst. I'd stand to say the 4th is pretty close, but it still isn't as bad because reasons that i refuse to spoil.

The character development is pretty good, so I'm wanting to stay watching even when I know I'm gonna have to turn away when things really hit the fan.

It's on the list of "Shows I wouldn't normally watch but I'm getting sucked into" alongside Breaking Bad.
This is duly noted.

I'm particularly squeamish myself and had/have no interest in Walking Dead, but I watched Breaking Bad at my father's insistence right before Season 3 started (thereafter watched it live), and it's one of my all-time favorite shows.

Haha, yeah, don't we all? I always see actors from LOST as their characters from LOST, despite their different roles, and I know I do the same for other shows/movies as well.

I'm loving it. I had the same problem; did you start with Season 1? Season 1 episodes are pretty weak, comparatively anyway, and it didn't grab me -- struck me as a poor man's The Office.

If you can just make it through those first six episodes though, they get better, and Season 2 it starts really kicking ass. The show benefits from a really great cast and it develops its own identity. Definitely worth watching, you could honestly skip to starting Season 2 and always go back and watch the rest of Season 1, I think.

Re: Whatcha Watchin? (Spoiler Free)

The Office is an awesome show. As an accountant, I imagine it's even funnier to me, but I can't imagine not enjoying watching it nonetheless.

Right now, I've been (re)watching Futurama (though I never saw the last couple of seasons before) whenever I need something quick to watch as a mind break. Too bad it got canceled (again), but I suppose it had a good run.
