It was pretty awesome. It probably ranks third or so for me. The only events I can think of that definitely beat it are Federer v. Nadal in the 2008 Wimbledon finals and Federer v. Roddick in the finals of 2009 Wimbledon, but I'm a tennis guy (and Federer fanboy).juliets wrote:Thats too bad. I think it was the best sporting event - most significant and most exciting - that I've ever seen. I can't think of an event to beat it.Ricochet wrote:I watched 6 innings of Game 6, but couldn't watch the decider, because early school in the morning.

That makes sense to me. It's hard to say what would have happened otherwise though.juliets wrote:I just read a couple of articles that said the rain delay helped chicago regroup and go on to win.

Oh okay, that makes sense!S~V~S wrote:They were my local team for years when I lived in NW Montana, "only" 10 hours drive away ha ha. Closest Major League ballpark. Every year they have home series against the Yankees, and my husband was all Yankees. So we went every year. I got used to rooting for them to beat the Yankees
So we also started going occasionally for Interleague series since I am all National League.
Plus Seattle is my favorite American city, so there's that.
I need to find a second ball team. I just have the Reds, and I won't be able to root them on in the playoffs for quite some time I think.

I know, right? I don't even know that much about baseball (but I'm voluntarily learning), but I saw Cueto on the Royals and was like... 'Hey! That's our guy!'JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Great to see a bunch of Reds pitchers killing it in the World Series... for the Royals.
I'm going to predict a Mets win tonight. Hopefully it happens.

That'd be nice too, and I'm actively rooting for them over their opponents, but I won't be heartbroken by either loss.Metalmarsh89 wrote:What about those two Texas teams that have a chance to advance today?
I haven't become particularly attached to either team yet, but I'd still root for them over most other teams.

YES!G-Man wrote:Flying cars may have been far-fetched but it's 2015 and we've got hoverboards, so why not a Cubs World Series win?
I'm not a huge Cubs fan because they're in the same division as the Reds, but I really want this to happen. Especially because of Back to the Future II, but even without that it'd be nice to see the Cubs end their World Series drought.
