I'll go Lake, since he was also a producer. I wish I had a producer. Mixing is one of my least favorite parts of creating music. It gets rather tedious at times.

Fail due to not studying. I actually had quite a go at that for a while in school.

A nice, big scarf. If it's big enough, I can put it over my head too, and then I can keep my hands in my pockets. I'd be set!

You've got an unexpected free afternoon - finish up some work around the house, or enjoy an afternoon of leisure?

That's tough, because of course we love our hikes, but at the same time she loves to run off leash. I guess, if it were up to her (rather than me) and she had to choose only one of those, I think she'd choose play in the yard. She loves to run off leash, especially if soccer balls are involved in some way. (I'd probably choose the walk myself, though.)



It's 3:00 am and you can't sleep. You have to get up at 6:00 am. Do you still try to get some sleep, or just decide to stay up?

I think it largely depends on the zoo. Truthfully though, I would much prefer to see things like nature reserves, animal refuges, sanctuaries etc - where it is more focused on caring for the animal properly instead of entertaining the human public.

If we had more of those places, with more opportunities for the public to safely volunteer in meaningful ways (ie, food prep, clean up, environmental enrichment, etc), I think we'd foster more of a real love, compassion and understanding for animals, rather than zoos, which are generally just for people who like to look at exotic animals and say "oh how pretty". So while I try not to paint all zoos with such a wide brush, if I have to choose, I'd go with the latter. (Plus, if I were ever abducted by aliens, and put on display, I'd rather be in something like a sanctuary than a zoo. So, what's good for the goose and all that. )


Nature documentary WITH predation scenes, or WITHOUT predation scenes?

Wow. That's tough. I'm going to go with Somalia, because I feel like there would at least be a chance I could help some people there - I would work really hard against FGM, maybe even getting involved with the Ifrah Foundation, and I feel like there would be a chance I could actually save some girls' lives and make a difference, if only for some girls.

I don't think people are inherently "good" or "evil". Most little children come out as a blank slate. For example most little kids (if they haven't yet been taught to be racist) don't care what color their friend's skin color is, or what they look like. They tend to just have a gentle curiosity towards the world at large, hence why they sometimes will ask a stranger a question that an adult would be too embarrassed to ask because it seems "rude". But to a child it's just innocent curiosity. I do think most people have an inherent tendency to be selfish, and put self before others though. (I generally feel that many of the "bad" things that happen in the world can often be boiled down to pure selfishness and just not giving a shit about anyone or anything else.) And from my experience, we do seem to be born with that, to differing degrees of course. That's something that each person can learn to control if they want, and if they don't have some type of brain disorder preventing it.

Then, I think others write on the slate of a child. They can teach them things like racism, bigotry, misogyny, misandry, hatred, etc. Or, they can teach them things like love, empathy, compassion, generosity, etc. I do think that, by nature, some people have a more compassionate character, but I don't think compassion (or any of those good traits) are out of reach of anyone to learn and display (unless, again, if they have some type of brain dysfunction preventing it).

Then, once the child comes of age to be aware, they have the option to either continue cultivating those things they were taught (whether they be bad or good), or they have the option to toss those things and learn to cultivate different aspects of their persona. I don't think any person is perfect, but I also do not equate that as meaning that every person is evil. We are what we make of ourselves, and we don't have to be selfish little bastards if we don't want to be.





In your movies/tv shows: werewolves or zombies?

Radiator shaped. More nooks and crannies for my sauce (and parmesan cheese) to cling to.


End all social injustice or find a cure for cancer?

Mmmmmm, fresh grated parmesan. I frakking love that stuff.

Vanilla Ice. But instead of singing, I'd put him to work remodeling the cubicles. (Or whatever office work environments look like now-a-days.) He's got that new show on HGTV, so I say let him do his handiwork.

I like both, but if I had to choose, I'd go sweet potato. I could actually eat one of those for a meal, whereas a regular potato is just a side dish to me.

Ordinary home with extraordinary location. My house is for my pets, and let's face it, we wouldn't really "fit in" in a mansion. But we dig extraordinary locations!

Chewie!!! Love that big, walking carpet.

I'll go wolves, but only by a nose. There is something about a big ol' canid that I enjoy. Reminds me of my previous dog. Of course, I love the current dog too, but at 22 lbs, she's hardly big. (Don't tell her though, I don't think she knows.)

I'll go with Audrey. But that's because when I had super bad insomnia about 6 or 7 years ago, I saw almost all her movies in the 5am time slot on that channel that plays old movies. lol

Confession time. I haven't seen even 1 measly episode of either show.

So, with that in mind, I'm going to say Breaking Bad, because I was just so happy that Bryan Cranston starred in it. He played a fantastic recurring role on Seinfeld - Tim Whatley.

Ooh, tough one. I'll go with Henry Rollins, but only by a hair.



A 2-run scoring triple or a 2-run scoring homerun?

Local Minor League team.

I'll explain. Our local minor league team (who plays in their own, independent league, not a farm system) plays in a stadium with a lot of history. The stadium opened in 1915, it was the first city owned sports stadium in the US and remains the 3rd oldest ballpark still in use by a professional baseball team in the country. (Fenway's the oldest, followed by Wrigley followed by Bosse Field here.) It was also the stadium in which they filmed the game scenes in the movie A League Of Their Own. Going into that place is like magic. Period. I'd spend any number of summer nights there.

You get to talk to the players, rain delays are great because you get to talk to them more (and they're such nice boys, always give any kid who asks a ball, and they'll autograph if the kid wants), after every game all the kids get to run the bases (and the kids at heart ), the boys don't make much money so they're playing for the pure love of the game... it's just such a real baseball atmosphere. I love it. It's pure. It's magical in there. (Plus, getting free tickets is a BREEZE, not to mention all the promotional give away nights, fireworks night, etc.)
