I realized at one point that family wouldn't win, I think we took the heaviest losses of all families in duels. Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [ENDGAME]

AWESOME game! I had a really fun time, and I don't mind not taking home a banner because I still feel like we all played well as a team together. I have learned a lot about being a team player, and trusting others in the past few games I've played as a civ, and am so glad that most of us were able to trust each other and work together the way we did. I feel very satisfied at how so many of us were able to band together and forget about families/win cons and just baddie hunt together. It felt really good, and I will continue to try my best NOT to be stubborn in future games.

Epi, I really enjoyed this game, thanks for hosting. I felt really overwhelmed, and kind of reluctantly agreed to sub in, but I am so glad I did. I had a blast. It was nice playing with so many familiar faces, and was a real joy to play with you again Mata!

DF - You had me fooled!!! I was still 100% reading you as frustrated civ, not bad. You did VERY well. So, as frustrating as the past few day phases were for you, I hope you walk away knowing that your play is NOT what got you. Maybe that is more frustrating to hear, but I was moments away from voting Boom and someone else, and your play is what made me question even the very info that I had. I was completely shocked to find out you were the DingDong. So kudos to you on a most excellently played game. Though, I may never trust you again. :p

Again, I find myself and Zou aligned in our desires to spare the innocent child. Please take heed of this, for it is important.

Ok gang, I feel it is likely I will not be able to get back on before End of Day. It's possible, but the likelihood isn't fantastic, so to avoid missing the vote, I'm going to go ahead and do it now. If anything comes up before End of Day to change anything, I put my confidence in the group to do the best thing. :noble:

For now, voting Boom and DF, and apologizing to whichever one I'm wrong about. (Probably DF) As Mata said, good luck to the innocent dueler!

I would humbly ask you then to consider the wisdom in perhaps looking to those who have been fully present, participating and aware of a multitude of situations and circumstances, and to consider who they are voting for. Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 16]

That's noble of you Zou, but at this point I'm with Quin. I think it is patently obvious that you can't be DingDong, so I'd rather vote for someone who I at least could see as a possible DingDong candidate. And I honestly think it's got to be between the 3 I mentioned, and I will give Bass a pass on good faith for you. I ask you do the same for ninja (which you do) and also Simon.

I just don't see any other options. :sigh: I feel that my vote will inevitably fall to Boom and DF. As a reminder, DingDong is a Leader class, meaning he has 1 six-sided die. The best to pit against him would be a strong warrior, but at the end of the day, all is left to chance anyway.

Mata, I appreciate your sentiments, I also feel you are not DingDong. I feel you are less likely to be DingDong than DF. Perhaps I am letting sentiment get the better of me with this vote, but I feel I will be voting with a heavy heart this day.

Popping in before I literally close my eyes and go to sleep... I will admit, I have entertained the idea of Mata being bad as well. There, I said it, and I am ashamed. Nothing she's done really, just my rampant paranoia and the shrinking of the list of possible suspects.

That is my sleepy confession. I hope to be absolved of guilt now so I may rest.

Also I could helpfully remove Simon's name from the suspect list. ... Yep, there, just scratched him out. :p

@ DF - I know, right? And I am terribly sorry to be suggesting it too, because I truly feel it is most likely Boom. You know, we could always ask for a volunteer to go up against our final choice... but that honestly seems fraught with peril too.

Yes Zou, I'm willing to be a team player here. I do hope I have shown that, and I thank you also for your willingness to do so. I am trying very hard to be super stubborn this game  and will do my best to continue. It is very, very hard for me to let go of my suspicion of the clever fish. As you know it has been plaguing me for a number of days now. I will do my best to tamp that down for yet another day, if that is what you need. :puppy:

I do think it is most likely Boom that we need to defeat, and I do feel that it is less likely to be DFaraday, but I could be wrong (though, just ask Dex, that hardly EVER happens :noble: ). Yes, let's work together and figure this out.

I would vote with you again today, Zou, as I did yesterday, with a bit of reluctance and hesitation. :p

I am feeling some super teamwork happening here, and I am loving it! Let's all hold hands and sing Kumbaya, and then figure out who to mercilessly force into a duel to the death.

Very clever messenger! I see that Bass, Boom and DF (my Final Three™) all voted leetic yesterday. Scotty pointed out (with his legacy post, which we didn't even know it would be yet) that Boom did a complete and total drive by vote again (so no motivations/reasons posted).

I'm happy to look at Bass and DF's votes also.

And voting-wise:

WE MUST NOT VOTE NINJA/BLOOPER AGAIN! I must be emphatic here. We must look elsewhere.

I was really hoping we wouldn't get a NK from the DingDong, but here we are. I feel VERY strongly that Bass should be 1 of our options today. For the other option, my POV is that Boom or DF are our best choices. I would lean towards Boom, personally, because he did yet another drive by vote.

Best choices for today: Bass, Boom, DF

I prefer: Bass & Boom

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 15]

Well, it seems like I'm still at the same place I was before regarding my votes. I'd like best to vote leetic & Bass, but it looks like it's leaning more towards leetic & ninja. I don't think that's horrible, and that's probably where I'll vote, because it looks like that's where the majority is going to fall. (And I'd rather the majority control the voting, rather than 1 of the suspects.)

I feel like I now at least find ninja more of a possibility as the SK after some discussion, I just don't feel sure. But I suppose that's the general nature of a mafia game.

I've also been thinking a lot about what might happen if/when the SK does get activated. I think the best thing will be to watch for any strange shenanigans and then follow where they go. I think at this point in the game, there are still a few treasure bearers out there, and I can only hope that some civs have protections, or something else that might help us figure out who the SK is, if they happen to target the right the player.

Matahari wrote:I'm not sure I can help with anything Indiglo, I am trying to go on general feelings about what I expect from a civ, or what I expect from a mafioso. Its been a long time since I played, and as people gradually change their styles, I have no gut feelings about particular people based on their styles. I also started late in the game, and for me, being present at the start of a game is crucial. Rereading is like cramming, essentially, I have lost any gut feelings I get about players to compare to later in the game. I also don't know many of the people playing. So, I will give you what little impression I have, for what its worth.

I kind of feel like Bass is civ, or an indy who is no threat to civs. Or- he could be the indy who inherits the YT kill, but I'm not sure he would have been so blase about dueling if that were the case. So, pretty sure he's ok.

Nijuu does something I have done as mafia, so I may be projecting here. Showing up only when someone posts or votes you, shows that you are following, but staying UTR. Posting when its close to voting time also suggests that you may be busy, but make time to vote and send in your night action, killing 2 birds w/1 stone. But, would an experienced player actually do that? Its like the kind of thing I used to do years ago. So I'm not sure about her.

Boomslang is just a mystery, too quiet for comfort. He, and Nijuu, are not really doing any scum-hunting, and that makes me a bit suspicious too.

DF is very non-committal, staying in a safe zone. This kind of play on his part in the past would have had my radar out, but I've been gone so long that I don't trust my radar yet.

I will vote whoever the remainder decides is best, because as someone else said, the numbers are dwindling here, and now is not the time for mistakes.
No, it helps Mata. Everything helps.

I'm still questioning whether or not I misinterpreted something regarding Bass, but his recent posts have me thinking perhaps I did not misinterpret after all. I do not know.

But, I will also vote however we all decide, if I love, just like it, or whatever. If we win, we win together, and if we fail, we fail together! :nicenod: LOL

And out of those, my main goal is to choose someone I don't think will hurt the civs to lose. And I think Bass fits that bill the best, especially if we're taking into consideration that it seems like Bass doesn't have recruits out of those who have defended them.

(And just to reiterate, anyone who is or was or has been recruited - I have no beef with you. Truly. I'm just trying to fill up boxes on my note sheets here and be as economical as possible with votes.)

So, it seems like I'm back to square 1 again. :haha:

My first choices are leetic and Bass. I'm happy to wait, and continue to see what shakes out though, or if any new information comes on the scene.

Also, I am not averse to pitting ninja/bloop and Bass against each other either, to see if we can learn anything there. And then move on to the inactive leetic next.

I posted this Day 13:
I'm still torn between DF and Dom as secondary candidates for Nanman. They're both just sneaking by.

And yo, DF, this isn't an attack on your inactivity- since I know you don't appreciate that being a legitimate suspicion, but this game, the best adjective I can use to describe you is "blendy". I've mentioned this before, but either it's a scumtell or a civ tactic to last longer into the game. I just can't tell which. Either way, I can't remember the contributions you've made towards actual scum hunting. I just can't remember. I'm like Dory. (I'm blue)
And while I've shied away from him being Nanman, I still have that "off" feeling where he seems like he is doing civ things while pretty much everything he has said I have disagreed with. :shrug2:

That is 100% how I would have replied, except that you wrote it before me. I am also completely neutral on him and have zero read there. Which is odd, this deep into a game, where I feel pretty strongly about most people.

I'd definitely be willing to look there and consider him.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 15]

And here's part of my dilemma also. I really don't want the vote to be close enough that 1 of the suspects can come swooping in here and make the deciding vote. I don't like that idea at all, especially when we're down to this few warm bodies.

I know Mata has mentioned (and voted for) ninja/bloop previously, and feels iffy about her. I'd love to hear from Mata about that.

Also, ninja/bloop did a weird vote yesterday herself, so I'd like to hear from her about that.

Scotty, remember only warriors can be recruited. Does that help you?

Each Night, Yuan Shao will attempt to recruit a warrior (anyone with BTSC cannot be recruited). He may recruit up to three warriors (one from each kingdom). *Secrets*

So, my theory was to wait and see who, if anyone seemed to stand up for Bass when I declared my stance on him (as him being 1 of these 2 roles). I figured if there was much of a ruckus kicked up, it would likely be from his recruited warriors, which would then identify Bass as the Yuan Shao Indy. So that's why I was formulating a theory that perhaps Zou Ci was some how roped in with the recruiting Indy, and perhaps Quin, after standing up for Bass so vociferously.

To be clear, I have no problem with Yuan Shao or his recruits, I was simply using that as a basis for my theory of identifying which of those 2 roles Bass has. Ya dig?

The Serial Killer is most definitely still alive, because s/he has not lost a duel, and CANNOT be NKed. So no, Leetic is NOT our final foe, spirit dude. The SK is still out there FOR SURE, though we can hope s/he is inactive at best.

It's time for complete transparency, and this is where I'm at.

Linki, but I am posting and THEN reading. Like I do. :noble:

To further why I feel Bass is a good possibility, is because, regardless of which of those 2 roles he turned out to be, him dying would not harm the civs. Also, it truly wouldn't harm his recruits either, assuming he were that Yuan role and did acquire recruits, because they could all still possibly win if someone from their group survived.

I think we have enough votes to put both Bass and nijuu up against eachother, and that's a compromise I'd accept.
Hey now, you know, I do not hate this idea.

I'm not sure we still have the votes to do that though, especially with some who just pop in, vote however the F they want, and leave.

Leetic's inactive anyway, and likely won't be killing anyone any time soon... so maybe take out the SK first. It's outside the box, and I'd definitely consider this!

Unless there really is a nanman left, whoever I vote that isn't leetic will be based on indie hunting. nijuu fits the description of an indie Dong Zhuo waiting for their role to activate better than Bass at this point, because she's the one who's coasting. Neither of them has appeared particularly gung-ho about lynching the YT's specifically which I would expect to see from someone eager to get that going.
Ok, my bodied friend. (No offense, Zou  ) Now this makes sense to me, and I can get down with it. Maybe I just needed to hear this in mortal terms, but I can definitely get down with this.

And yes, we have until the PM of October 1. According to my mortal calculations, that gives us more than 24 hours yet to vote.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 15]

Oh, I'm down with voting leetic, I have no problem there.

It's just ninja/blooper that I'm not sure about voting. So you think ninja/blooper could also be Yellow, hence the SpaceDaisy reference? Or a remaining, inactive Nan?

Do you have anyone in mind for the Indy SK who will inherit the Yellow NK? Because that seems like a good place to vote if we're working on vanquishing the Yellows.

I guess I'd also like to hear from Ninja/Blooper herself. Her vote yesterday was weird, to say the least.

Scotty wrote:Can someone please explain the blooper vote?

I don't think she is bad in the slightest and yet she continues to get votes every phase. What role do you think she is?

Here's the math. We know realistically that there can only be one remaining Nanman and one remaining YT. Blooper is at least active enough to drop in seemingly random votes every phase. There was no kill last night, and Epi seemed very mum on revealing if a team has been eliminated.

I've already previously stated that I thought TH was Mafia, and even if he wasn't, there is a chance that one of the several nightkills from the YT could have been Nanman.

Unless you think there is still one left who hasn't been paying attention since Mac died and a kill wasn't submitted..which if that's the case, then the only two people who missed the vote yesterday are Bass and Aragorn.

I think Bass is our best choice to battle, because even if he loses, he still has a suspicious cloud looming over him IMO, whereas I think a ninja vote is non productive.
Yes! All these words!!

Why the Ninja/Blooper votes? Please to elaborate. Bass is our best duel partner, unless someone has info on ninja/blooper. Please explain, as we are getting close to end game, imo.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 15]

I still see Bass as a viable candidate if we can't come up with anything better. In my notes I have him down as either Yuan Shao (the Indy that recruits) or Dong Zhuo (the Indy that inherits the Yellow's NK).

My only other pool from which to draw is there in my list. I guess anyone from light green down could be tricksy and just playing it as a civ. That's why if we really can't suss anyone out, I'd prefer to go with Bass as leetic's dueling partner.

I kind of thought the push back from Boom and Ninja/Blooper on the Mac vote yesterday was odd. I'm not sure if it means anything besides not paying attention or what though.

So now it's probably a good assumption that Nanman have been wiped out. I'm convinced leetic is our last YT. Then we'll have Mr. Indie leader to worry about.

So who is joining leetic? I kinda want to vote indiglo.
I thought we had 1 more Nan remaining? Or do you think 1 was NKed?

I don't see how voting me makes any sense at all.

LOL I know, right??? :faint:

Ok, I'll humor whoever that role is.

Aragorn
Simon
Zou Ci
Scotty

Quin
Matahari

DFaraday
Boomslang
nijuukyugou
Bass_the_Clever

leetic

So, leetic and who else today? :D If he indeed turns out to be the last Yellow Turban (as is the impression) we need to be aware that the Indy may be active, and begin to use the Yellow's kill again.

Also, yay, Scotty can talk again! Aren't you glad you won't be silenced again?
