Dom wrote:Long story short: the less power we give to DH, the less power he has.
Well, except the power to kill people. He has that anyway. But I agree, probably ignoring him is most prudent for now.

Anyway, your post clears things up mostly. I feel like I'm kinda following. Thanks.

Re: [NIGHT 3] The Red Room

I don't understand anything you say, Dom! You're operating on a whole different level from me. You seem to know who's bad and good based on what they're saying to you, and I have no idea how it works. Are you really that good, or are you being mysterious on purpose? And when day comes, can you please tone it down just for a bit or lead a seminar or something so the rest of us can catch up?

Re: [NIGHT 3] The Red Room

Oh! To DH: you seem to understand how lynch mechanics work a lot better than I do. Who do you recommend we vote tomorrow? I think you said juliets and Dom would both be bad ideas to receive any votes?

And side note: I think there's still a veeery outside chance that DH is a New F.E.B. on the Block, specifically Devin or Nev, but that would mean Dom and juliets are probably his teammates, and right now that scenario just seems very far-fetched to me.

I'm not sure i understand. But I'm thinking I believe you.
Kate, why did you, at least to me, try to claim the role of DH?
I don't understand anything Dom says. Have you been insanified? :p

Devin the Omniscient wrote:Just for the record, I've been taking this game seriously, too. And I'm the one who tried to get mod-killed in the other game. I can see why you're getting frustrated, though, Kate. We seem to be agreeing more with the "SK" than with you (a self-proclaimed civ). Keep in mind what has been said so far: Both Mafia teams have attempted to kill DH. It doesn't seem likely with so many kill survivals available on certain roles, that a Mafia team would risk using a NK on one of their own in order to make him look good. So, assuming the SK can win with the last remaining team, it would be in the civs' best interest to keep the SK alive for the time being. Even if he has an LMS win condition, it's now in the best interesting of the SK to dispose of the Mafia teams first.

That's my opinion anyway.

I haven't been saying much else because I know MP is stuck and we won't have anything more to go on until he gets his post up. And I personally don't feel like wasting time by talking in circles.
This I get, though, and I agree with most of it. I'm taking the game seriously now (but trying to have fun too). I had 4 finals last week and couldn't use my mental energy on mafia, so I didn't have much useful to say. Still don't, since we're waiting on that night post.

Dev, I think SK means DH almost certainly has an LMS role, which we should keep in mind. I don't know from the rules why killing baddies would benefit him, but I read him as sincere when he said he'd try to kill baddies, and even though he'll be wrong occasionally, I think it'd be silly of us to throw away a gift/power like that. So even though he's my rival and all, I'm leaning toward leaving him alone for now.

Not much to go on really. I've tried to explain that I'm not really interested in killing civvies if I can help it. But I guess some people weren't convinced :sigh:

I do have a particularly compelling reason for you to not vote for me however: Death comes in threes, so piling votes on me will kill Dom as well, something civvies won't want to do.
These are some really good points. Idk who is baddie besides DH, but I think we should put votes on suspicious folks to protect Dom.

The death in 3s thing hasn't really worked out so far though, so who knows.

Is the point of your club to find baddies? And is Kate in it?
No.

The point of this club is to make newcomers uncomfortable.

Kate has an automatic membership because she was The Sorceress and cussed timmer out for killing her. And that was epic.
Wait, you were the Sorceress and cussed out Timmer when you died? How did I miss this??

And Epi, your club description was spot on.

Idk about allowing juliets in, personally. No offense juliets, it's just that you're not a founding member, and 7 is a perfect mafia number. That's just my 2 cents though, and I'll leave it up to the rest of the bloc. I'm definitely ok with putting her at the bottom of our 'make uncomfortable' list, though.

I'm gonna go ahead and vote BDH.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know how we find out without testing it on someone, though.

Wow, so many questions! Why are BDH and A Person (and now Devin) here? And do we actually kill 3 players in the other thread nightly?

Perhaps most importantly, do day polls actually send a player back to the regularly scheduled game, or do they double die and lose for all eternity? :overreact:

Actually, Kate, "Kate" was the role that most surprised me! I thought you would be a civ, because when I'm a baddie you're one of the players I fear most, if not the one I fear most.

BTW, I wonder if any of us will end up as ourselves...

That's true, technically. You're still bitter though. :p

And INH, I agree completely with everything you posted regarding your theories on the game. It seems reasonable to me that we could expect 1/3 new players to be bad, and it does appear to be Opposite Day in MP's world.

I liked the descriptions a lot. It would be fun to be an honorary member of A.S.S. since my avatar is a lizard. The things in parentheses after people's descriptions read to me like knightly marks of distinction. ("Here lies Sir Timmer, Order of A.S.S., to be remembered for distinguished service in the Altercation About '50s Noir Film" or some such.) So it wouldn't have to be A.S.S., but it would be nice to be in an order.

Re: [DAY 0] The Red Room

Hi everyone! Wow, this is exciting. I thought the original Champions game was awesome, but this might be the single coolest concept I've ever seen in mafia. MP did a great job witht he descriptions, by and large, and I love that he included my rivalry with DH.

Hehe, you guys are such bitter dead baddies! Thanks a BUNCH to bea for her (possibly illegal?) rundown; I apparently had missed a lot of stuff from the original game lately.

Ummm, can I join the bloc? That was the only way to win INH's game, and I like winning.
