Re: [Night 5]: Film Directors.

It's primarily tone.

This post:
Long Con wrote:Sorry, Made, at the risk of sounding cliché, I really thought we had a baddie that time. :(

I PMed the host, and she told me that Uwe Boll can use the power at will, there doesn't seem to be a triggering mechanism.

We're being really crappy Civvies. I may have forgotten how to be an effective Civvie, after being Black Knight and Gollum and Miles Axelrod, and in the Monopoly game I was LMS very early on... I am just not a good Civvie anymore. :scared:
and this one:
Long Con wrote:TH, fantastic job on the Made research! That's looks like some top-quality analysis to me, and it put Made on top of my list, so I will vote for him now.

*votes Made*
Feel completely hollow and insincere. "We are being bad civvies" is I line I'm sure I've heard baddies say before, and his "goshamagolly, TH! You sure are smart! Made must be bad after all!" felt way too easy.

Combine that with the fact that he was one of the few people to get votes in before the thread was locked, and that is enough for me. I'll be voting Long Con tomorrow, but I would prefer if I were not alone.

RIP Made. I am certain the baddies locked the thread when three civvies were tied at one vote each, giving them a free lynch. I would have probably voted Made if I could have just because the other two I am certain are civvie and I had no idea if he was or not.
So you think Rico and SVS are civ, amiright?
I made a mistake. I do think SVS is civ but I am not certain who Rico could be. I thought the third vote was on someone else when I saw the poll. These polls can be confusing.

I just read MM LONG read! Stop posting so much, MM. :)

If he is bad, he is playing like a champ, because I just cannot see what others are seeing there.

BWT, I might join you in a Rico vote, because there is still a kernel of suspicion from Day 1 that lingers in my mind. Dom is my first choice, but I am sensitive to what SVS said about spreading the vote (it's an argument I've made many times) and I don't see much eagerness to pile onto Dom today. I'm going to reread Rico and TH next.

Re: [Day 5]: Film Directors.

Okay, I finished my reread of Made. Here's the thing: he doesn't make any sense. Apart from what TH pointed out, there's also his weird idea that I should still suspect SVS despite Vomps flipping civ. Also, he kept saying "Llama is not the person I'm planning to gun for." Then when people asked him who he was planning to gun for, he refused to answer. Then when the time came he gunned for.... no one really. He expressed suspicions of Roxy and SVS, but I hardly call that gunning.

All that said, I am hesitant to vote for Made for acting weird. I have been burned on that before, and Made kind of always acts weird, and baddies tend to try to avoid standing out like that. Not sure. MM is next on my reading list.

MM, Myself, Rico, Llama(?), DF

Roxy, SVS, TH, Dom, LC

BR, Canuck, BWT are neither positive or negative to either of the trust groups.

I'm not saying this to create an overarching argument about the roles or possible association between the two groups, since this is very much simplified (notably when you look at Llama and LC). That said I think BR, Canuck, and BWT are an interesting group in the fact that they seem to be escaping the aforementioned feud.

What the heck? This is completely inaccurate with respect to me. If I had to group those players into Trust v. Don't Trust, it would look like this.

Trust: DF, SVS, Roxy, maybe Made but less so
Don't Trust: Dom, Rico, Maybe MM, maybe BR, Maybe LC

BR, any thoughts on TH? You were the only person who seemed even marginally on board with my suspicions of him, and I'm just wondering if your thoughts on him have changed in either direction. I'm still pretty torn.

thellama73 wrote:I am bored of not making cases, and since it seems like there is contingent of people eager to lynch me tomorrow, I guess I better start preparing my defense. MongooseLawyer would approve.

Has anyone read Dom lately? I just did, and a couple of things really stand out.

1. Have you noticed that almost every one of his on topic posts (at least for the first few days) was a question? This is always a red flag for me. It's a great way to participate without committing to much.
2. His campaign against MP, who we now know was as civvie as the day is long.
3. The thing that inspired me to do the reread was the way he jumped onto me after the Blooper lynch (for which he missed the vote.) It feels like the height of opportunism, because no player has stuck his neck out as much as I have. I would be an extremely easy lynch, and when I flip civ, anyone could reasonably say "well, what was I supposed to do? He kept leading campaigns against civvies!"

Anything that allows a player to dodge accountability sticks out as baddie-esque to me, and Dom's Socratic method combined with his opportunistic pouncing on me are both great examples of accountability dodging.

I still want to reread TH and MM before the lynch (been crazy busy at work) but I would not be surprised if I voted for him tomorrow.
