Re: X-Men [Day 8]

It is very likely that I had been targeted by Magneto on Night 6 for Day 7. V, I think you might have unknowingly saved me and one other person by choosing Shaw. Thanks. So looking at the day 7 poll, there are a few possibilities. My best guess is, we're likely to find at least one baddie in the following group: Marrow, Polaris, Deadpool. Of the three I would be willing to vote for the former because she seems like the one most likely to be protected by Magneto. I don't know if she can be targeted again tough. What I do know is that I am safe today, but I don't want to endanger anyone in case any of those I have mentioned are protected. I'm open to suggestions. Also, I am leaving in an hour.

When you've been playing with some people for a while, you tend to notice their style, like WQ said. There will be some who might try to disguise themselves. I have figured most of you out by now, but I try not to let that affect the way I play, and I hope I'm not the only one. He only said four things. First, he picked a random choice. Second, he said something silly. Third, I guess he missed the vote. Fourth, he voted somebody randomly again.

Even if he's good, Thunderbird wasn't very helpful. It looks like he didn't even want to play really.

Maybe the bad guys are voting for A Person because they know he won't try to find them. :mafia:
That is a very good point, Seb. The thing is while I would love to have Eloh, Boogs or K4J back, I would even agree with WQ that he could give the baddies a run for their money if I didn't believe he was actually one of them. Do I know he's actually Mystique? No. It's belief vs. knowledge. From what evidence we have at the moment I'm inclined to believe he was Mystique as Exodus. This does not mean I'm willing to take the risk and bring Domino back who could be either Eloh or Boogs. Bullz on the other hand had been active and offered great insight and from what we know had been targeted by both an independent and the baddies, so that is a risk I'm willing to take. I think this is a balanced choice.

I don't know about you people, but the only one on that list I'm 99% sure is a civilian, is AP.

I do miss Bullz's insight though, but with all the weird speculations, I might want to be a bit cautious. For those still wondering: Dat behaviour spelling. ;)

Guys, are we still doing it? The formula: main suspect gets X votes, the second one X/2+1?

I went back and read Seb and Marrow (oh hai Marrow): similar content, slightly different delivery. Both are good choices.

So, if Exodus was Mystique(not saying I believe that as I still think Domino makes more sense to be Mystique), his team mates totally abandoned him and left him out to dry even though they all knew he'd flip as a civvie role. I'd be interested to hear theories on possible team mates of Exodus because as I sit here thinking about it from the POV that Exodus was bad, I can't think of a possible team mate from the remaining group.
I'm one of those who thinks Exodus was the real Mystique: he was defensive, had the same piece of info as SC yet barely managed a NO U, and Domino later committed suicide as Mystique to prove what?
I'm not trying to argue Exodus vs Domino as the real Mystique. I've been doing that for days and it's led to where we are now. I'm trying to get a discussion going assuming I am wrong and that Exodus was Mystique.
I see. The idea is SC basically showed up at the last minute and put a lot of effort into making that case which was crap. I assume it was just as unexpected for the baddies as it was for the rest of us. Think how you can't get everyone in the chat at the same time and agree upon one course of action. Look at the first six votes for Exodus, 1 was a confirmed civilian, 1 is most likely Apocalypse, and the other 3 I feel fairly good about. It could be a last minute bandwagoning, because like I said, we don't know exactly how Mystique role's really works.

Spiral wrote: Because your last minute vote switching makes me feel not good about you, and I think White Queen is Apocalypse and I think that it's useless to lynch her at the moment.

But nice to know that you think anyone who doesn't agree with you must not read your posts.

I'm so sick of people in this game vaguely insinuating that I'm not reading.
Okay, let's try and discuss this.

I agree that trying to lynch WQ is useless. It's frustrating because now she can get away with anything, but that's the way it is, and I'm trying to ignore her. Have you followed my post sequence on Day 6? On the first day of the cycle I said I did not like her reaction to surviving a night kill and that I would be looking into it. You should know it because you replied to it. I return the next day making that post with which you agreed. However, it was an even cycle, so I advised people to try and not spread the vote, including you, who had already voted for WQ. Then while I was posting that, SC says she's down for a WQ vote. So, because I was not going to vote for Rasputin, and was not comfortable with a Havok vote either I switched, hoping that more people would follow. Then I realized with all the redirected powers from the previous night that if Magneto was still alive, there was a high chance that his target was redirected as well and took a chance which ended in WQ being the main candidate for that lynch. She survived, and it's very likely that she's Apocalypse. I keep posting this over and over and nobody seems to care because they don't even bother addressing it, so I assume they're not reading or they are reading it but choose to ignore it on purpose because it clashes with their personal agenda.

And to address your last point. I understand you are sick of people insinuating that, I was straightforward about it, but do you see why some people assume that? It's the way you choose to reply to some posts. Not all of them, I've seen you take your time and reply properly. I'm talking about my case because I'm mostly familiar with this one. I try to address everything in a post whether I agree with it or not. You don't do that. I usually make extensive posts, and in your replies, you ignore the core of the post and either pick on something that I don't think it's worth picking on especially since you don't explain why, or like last time go 'lol you're so bad' without explaining why or taking anything that I've posted into consideration. That's why I assume you're not reading. But apparently it's not the case. So then it really makes me wonder. Why do you choose to ignore things?

Linki tits ;) - I was just about to post how you're not reading what I'm posting, but yay! And to answer your question: Yes! That's what I've been trying to say for a few days now. And keep in mind that it's not reduced solely to maths. The rest of the explanation requires discussing PM content. Read this reply to Spiral about the sequence of events.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]

I will address a few a things if anyone cares enough to read and will reiterate others hoping to be more clear, because by the looks of it, some of you people's logic is so flawed, I am starting to believe it's on purpose and the sad thing is, there might be civilians who pay little attention to the game and go on believing it themselves.

I'm going back to Day 6. What part of 'IT WAS ME, HAWKEYE, WHO TRIED TO LYNCH WQ' don't you understand? It was not Magneto, not the Brotherhood, just ME. That was all I was allowed to reveal. The rest would require me to post PMs.I believe that might be against the rules. Why do I think there was no Brotherhood at work? Because of Polaris. If she is bad, she would not expose herself like that. Just think about it for a minute, if Polaris and I were bad, why in the name of Humanoid Danger would we risk lynching someone who WE KNEW would NOT flip Brotherhood, instead of going the safe way with either Havok or Rasputin and put all of you civs in our pockets one by one? Because that is not the case. I don't know if Polaris is bad or not, all I know is that the brotherhood was not involved in targeting WQ on Day 6. It was I because I genuinely believed she was bad. If you go back and read my posts, I had been eying her from the beginning of Day 6 in the thread. In my head however, it had been a while, except I did not have any evidence to build a case. Her reaction to the Night 5 events was what I saw as a slip. Then thanks to my good buddy Spiral, who was the first to vote for her (HAVOK, it was Spiral, not Shadowcat) and seeing that Shadowcat also expressed her desire to do the same, but ended up abandoning the idea, I voted for WQ, I can't remember if I switched from Havok or not, but the idea is that I voted for her and other things I can't discuss and was waiting for her to flip bad and get all the glory. It just so happened that Polaris decided to switch at the last minute, which increased the chances of her getting lynched.

I see I was targeted by Apocalypse and he's very mad. At least two wasted night kills. Boo hoo! Cry me a river! I don't know Longshot's alignment, but if he suggested that I was targeted by Apocalypse, he just made a common sense observation.
Longshot wrote:
Epignosis wrote:
Mikhail Rasputin wrote:Hostest with the mostest: Can you tell me who tried to murder me the other night? Pretty please?
The attempt was the work of the Morlock Tunnels Maintenance Department, under the influence of a certain Apocalypse.
Well, my theory is out the window knowing it was Apocalypse. Maybe you're right and he (shaw) is indy Mikhail because you're right, he doesnt seem to care at all.
Even night attempt on Rasputin, very similar circumstances in my case.

I also noticed that the discussion of the Horsemen is treated like some sort of novelty, when I tried to discuss this on Day 2 but nobody gave a damn. The only popular thing from my post was that I dared discuss Storm.

Which brings me back to my good ol' bud, Spiral. I gave him a break because I know I acted douchey and we agreed to disagree on the civilian secrets issue, but his reaction after the failed lynch made me feel very intrigued. Spiral was the first person to vote for WQ on Day 6 after having agreed with one of my posts. He even understood my point better than WQ herself, which makes me suspect he DOES read my posts. After the results, he quickly tried to distance himself from both Polaris and I, and oddly enough, he succeeded. What's more, he suddenly went 180 on WQ, and back to dismissing every single thing I've posted WITHOUT offering any kind of argument whatsoever.

If anyone has any questions, I will gladly reply, if that does involve revealing PM content.

Re: X-Men [Night 6]

The poll that Rasputin won was to augment his power, so that might be a possibility, but I'm thinking it was to do with his already existing power, not extra elements. And you were one of his voters, were you not?

Also, you're welcome for having exposed Apocalypse. I don't see how I'm turning the attention to him, when I came out as the one responsible for it in the first place. And what do we do now that we know who he is? We focus on the Brotherhood, because he can't be lynched or night killed. That's what we do - what we've been trying to do since the game started, except now we're a little wiser.

Re: X-Men [Night 6]

Sorry to rain on your parade Apocalypse and Friends, but there was not a single Brotherhood member at work here (or if there actually was, that's purely coincidental), it was all me. I've been suspecting WQ as scum for quite some time, and by the looks of it, I wasn't that far from being wrong, but I had no evidence to support that. The other day she made those statements regarding her survival, so I thought that's as good as it gets. I was going to vote for Havok and I did, but after that I realized with all the redirected powers, that if Magneto was still alive, his could have been as well, so I took a risk. Yes, Spiral and Polaris, unknowingly happened to help with the numbers, so if one of them is a member of the Brotherhood, I suppose you can say there were baddies involved, but they basically had no idea.

I see WQ and Havok keep bringing up Rasputin = baddie leader of some sort, when there is clear evidence IN the thread, not info dumping or anything else, that he survived a night kill in a game where baddies don't have that ability. Looking back at it all, it makes sense. WQ targeted Rasputin on Night 4, and something tells me Rasputin returned the favor on Night 5. :)

Havok, from what the host said, he was somehow targeted by Apocalypse. But that is not the point. The point is he survived it because of who knows what. And that who knows what had nothing to do with redirected powers, otherwise we would have known. Brotherhood members can't survive night kills.

WQ: I was referring to baddies who can survive a night kill. In this game, there aren't any (that we know of). It works the other way around.

Havok: That may be in regards to Cyclops, but based on observation (of course, I could be wrong, I have been so many times in this game I lost count) I think he might have been detected by Xavier. It's not that difficult to find other two X-Men.

Longshot: I have briefly read your case, and honestly, it was just slightly better than SC's case on Exodus, and that has to be one of the weakest cases on someone I've ever read. (no offense, SC). I think Polaris made a similar point. Point 8 is worth taking into consideration. I personally have a hard time trying to figure out who is whose teammate. I am always surprised at the end of a game when the baddie team(s) is(are) revealed, and putting together a team like that surely raises an eyebrow.

Vision: Now that I think of it, I can see why he would vote for Marrow. I haven't looked at voting record, but she barely participates, yet always makes sure to cast a vote. It would be nice if you could use quotes to communicate, V.

Spiral: Thanks, dude, but we shouldn't spread the vote.

I guess it's down to Rasputin and Havok. Honestly, I think we're dealing with two independents here. I don't believe Rasputin is scum because of Night 4. I don't feel comfortable voting for either of them, but I don't want to spread the vote, so it's Havok.

Linki - I'm down for White Queen vote too.

Re: X-Men [Day 6]

Guys, this is what happens today:
On odd Nights, that person will receive the votes of two other selected targets the following Day.
Don't spread the vote.

I hope I can get back on time to catch up.

Re: X-Men [Day 6]

Mikhail Rasputin wrote: Very interesting sleuthing on Sunfire, Hawkeye. You're aptly named, I guess. 3 thoughts: 1) Are we sure he knew what power he got each night? If so, that was a cooler role than I realized. 2) I thought the theory went that QS used his own power to kill Scarlett Witch. Why would Sunfire use it if he got it? And 3) You say on Day 3, Sunfire pulled a 180 on QS. You don't mean to say he started suspecting QS, do you? Because that would shoot all kinda holes in your theory. Sorry for being too lazy/tired to go back and find it.
It seems that my mistake here was to look at the events and Rogue's role mechanics, using my own as a point of reference. That said, there are some powers that require their user's knowledge in order for them to choose a target or more. One thing I did miss though, if Sunfire had stolen QS's night kill (which he had to use that same night), I think it would have showed up as a Rogue kill and not Psylocke.
One more thing I thought of today: everyone is so worried about Magneto. But we haven't had a lynch during this game that HASN'T gotten the result we expected, even though Epi said to expect heavy manipulation. I know this is so optimistic it sounds batshit crazy, but you guys don't think he could be dead, do you? Just interested to hear others' takes. IF he's dead (and again, that's a huge and very optimistic if) to my mind there's only one player he could've been. I'd have to read back through all the Day posts to see whether they shoot my hope/theory full of holes, but again, tired/lazy, and just curious what people think of the idea.
Could be, but I wouldn't bet on it. We still need to be careful. Today's the day when we technically have to bandwagon on a person to reduce the risk of voting for people whose votes will be transferred to Magneto's main target, but I see we're pretty divided.

Now what I didn't like about White Queen's reaction after Night 5 was her rush to state that she knew how she survived. Past experience says that a baddie who survives a night kill (because of their role) would say they have no idea how that happened and would thank an unknown protector for it. This to me seemed like that equivalent of what happened with WQ, except here we have no baddies who can survive night kills, and it was more than obvious from the brief post that we were dealing with a bunch of redirected night kills.

linki with Banshee - something like that too.

I see, thanks.

I don't know what to think about Havok, but I'm not exactly getting baddie vibes from him, yet I'm not sure I'm getting civvie vibes either. If he's Omega Red, I don't think he should be lynched. If he's the Sentinels he can't win with the civvies and might have increased his powers. If he's Apocalypse he can't be lynched. I will be looking at White Queen. Her reaction to having survived the night kill really pinged me.
what role do you think she is
White Queen? No idea. What's your take on it though?

Spiral wrote: So, Sunfire was a good judge of character? I find it suspect that you are willing to take someone who might not know what they're talking about at their word.
Rogue - Steals the power of her target to use that same Night.
I'll recap.

Day 0 & Day 1: Who is the person that draws the most attention to themselves? Avalanche and his morlocks.
Night 1: Steals Avalanche's powers. Goes to the first page. Reads the roles. Goes back to check his new power. Match.
Day 2: Quicksilver vs. T-Bird. Defends QS and votes Hawkeye, one of the QS voters.
Night 2: What's all that fuss about QS? Steals QS's power. A night kill. Looks at the previous poll. Scarlet Witch puts the last nail in T-Bird's coffin. Targets SW.
Day 3: Goes 180 on QS. QS is Psylocke.
Night 3: Voted for Hawkeye on Day 2, might as well check that one. Steals power. Goes to the first page. Reads roles. Goes back to check new power. Match.
Day 4: No vote for Hawkeye, one of those who really pushed for QS's lynch. Posts about people he feels good about.
But yes, I don't see where Banshee fits in here. :ponder:
Anyone have any ideas?

I know Avalanche has been generally trusted, though not always helpful (considering he's always been silenced). But why Banshee? And Rasputin didn't survive any NK's last night. Unless I'm missing something.

Linki: (yay I did it) I guess that could have happened? I only posted that hypothesis because I don't see how it could hurt anyone at this point.
Sunfire wrote: And to tell everyone who I feel good about...I am most certain that Avalanche, Hawkeye, and Banshee are good and in that order.
;)

Rasputin might have survived an attempt from Apocalypse on Night 4. At least that's how I interpreted it from the night post and the info from our host.

That is way too risky, and something tells me Cyclops had been recruited by Xavier before that sun post.

Re: X-Men [Day 6]

:rip: iywg Mojo, Cable, Bastion.

Since Pyro has carried the night kill for the Brotherhood, can we assume that Sabretooth is dead? If that is the case, there are two possibilities: a) Dazzler was Sabretooth and the night kill was redirected (oh the irony!) which makes Exodus the real Gambit, but I still have a hard time believing that [SHADOWCAT, if you can talk about it, is there a chance that there might have been more than one baddie who voted for that poll option?]; b) Mystique's powers can make one of her teammates or any other player appear as someone else, not just herself.

To answer Havok's question from a few pages back, I think Domino was the real Gambit because why the hell would Mystique commit suicide? What did she prove by doing that? Who did she set up? It does not make any sense. Exodus had the same piece of information that Shadowcat had, he barely pulled a weak NO U.

Thanks to Sunfire I can now trust at least two players, Avalanche and Banshee. I trust Rasputin not being a baddie. Unlike White Queen who survived because of a redirect, he probably survived because of something else on Night 4.

Re: X-Men [Day 5.2]

Hey! Sorry about my recent absence. Family, Easter and all that jazz.

I've only scanned the posts I've missed, but noticed people tend to believe Domino was in fact Mistique, SC included, can someone explain why? I still personally think it was Exodus.

I've also noticed that Rasputin is now being questioned. I agree there's a possibility that he could be steering, but one thing does not add up here: from what I've understood, he had been targeted by Apocalypse and survived. I do not see any baddie role that can survive a night kill, unless his survival has to do with the poll he'd won. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think Sunfire is a good choice for today.

Re: X-Men [Day 5]

I'm just dropping in to vote. I haven't had time to re-read things as I have initially planned and will not be available for a while. I currently have no idea what to think of Shadowcat and Domino, so I'll be voting Sunfire today. If you decide to go with the two, remember the formula, and if one of them flips bad, you can hold me accountable for my vote. I'm just not entirely convinced for now. Also, please make sure Havok gets that just-in-case vote.

Barton out.

Re: X-Men [Day 5]

Welp, there goes my theory. Makes sense why I was allowed to discuss it in the first place. I guess I'm back to square one. So it's Domino, SC, Sunfire and apparently Havok. I don't know what to think of him at the moment, except he needs that just-in-case vote. I'll try to do a proper re-read tomorrow if I have time.

In the mean time, I notice Longshot is no longer invisible, is lurking and not posting. I'm assuming he's been silenced.
