Re: [DAY 5] Harry Potter Mafia
IMO it seemed like some impulse voting. I don't know if its just how I was reading some of these interactions but it seemed like some tempers flaring and just voting because of some disagreements going on. (probably not the best way to describe it, but I am at a loss for the correct wording I am looking for at the moment)Merga Bien wrote:So Entjen, what do you think of Alizon & Malin voting for Maret since she does not want to lynch low posters? I know I am over simplifying, but that is pretty much what it amounts to.
Even though you clearly think I am bad, I am still open to all options but am more willing to listen to those willing to give me a chance at this point.
I would like to not have to vote to save myself, but it seems highly unlikely this game so I will be holding my vote for now.

Re: [DAY 5] Harry Potter Mafia
I'm all for lynching low posters. I take that stance in pretty much every game I play. I like playing with people who like to play and post, but I think that most people don't post more or less based on affiliation tbh.
MOST is the key word. There are some who lay low and let the civvies lynch each other. It's hard to say if this is the case but I can see why some are making that conclusion since we have only lynched civvies and most of the outspoken are likely civvies.
HOWEVER, I don't want to lynch someone just for being a low poster when there is other stuff to go on. It's Day 5. surely there is more of a reason (vote patterns, lack of suspicions, etc) that would warrant a vote in addition to low posting.

I'm still out so hopefully can get a more organized list of suspects going later. I have spent a lot of time defending myself so it has been hard to formulate my opinion. I doubtAgnes Sampson wrote:Okay Entjen then who do you think is bad? The only person being discussed that I see right now is Mary, who I will get to in a bit. I have thoughts on other players that I'm trying to get organized, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on other players as well.
I will make it much longer though so I'd like to give the civs a few parting words if I am the one to go.

No. I think going back and forth til we are blue in the face about the same stuff is a waste of time. Civvie on civvie fights are distracting in the thread and prevent us from finding baddies.
You suspected Agnes, and was wrong, you switched a lynch or something to Krystyna and was wrong there, too. Personally, I think Krys might have been right, she might have been wrong, only the Slytherins know for sure.Entjen Gillis wrote:Honestly your post is a joke. I suspected you Day 1 and was wrong. Yes. I was wrong twice. I have been busy in RL and have been under a lot of scrutiny this game, so am trying my best but I have not been doing great so far, but am trying my I can't change my past votes I can only move forward from here.
I will finish reading tonight, and reread with an emphasis on you and Mary. But your reaction to suspicion is not making me feel differently, quite the opposite.

I will say that I believe that we need the teachers alive rather than dead.
Lynching Indies, especially THIS set of Indies, feels like a desperation act to me. I know that I would feel horrible were I to participate in the lynch of my Housemaster or Mistress. You, not so much eh? Perhaps you don't have one?
Also @Jennet: I mentioned your two votes for Entgen in your favour, you are consistent. That strikes me as rather more of a civvie trait than otherwise.

honestly Mary brings up a good point about jennet possibly being a teacher, but I'd rather lynch baddies than indies. She also sounds defensive about it though, considering she only has one vote at this point, so maybe there is merit to the case and she is mad she is caught. I don't know but I think this will be telling.

I don't think it has evaporated. Just was given a pass for the day for being insanified, and I think for a lot of people maybe they found better suspects?Merga Bien wrote:Ah, I thought the smilie was pondering that she made an early vote.
OK, so the suspicion you had prior to your insanification yesterday seems to have evaporated, but it is early. And you are saying you survived due to a role related thing, when there are tons of secrets. Fair enough. I could see survival as good, bad or Educator. So claiming so neither exonerates nor implicates you directly.
As of this point, you are my primary suspect, although I think Jennets case has merit, and I would support that as well if that is the way the wind blows. Plus I have not totally caught up, so there will be no early vote from me.
There isn't really much more I can say as to how I survived. the reason I did is not secret. I was wrong about Krystyna, but if you lynch me I will not survive again and you will lynch another civvie.

Sometimes if you are sure, you are sure. rather than posting smilies at her, I read her back up and it looks solid to me. Since her early vote gets your attention, what is your opinion of her case? Who is on your list, Entgen? And I still have not seen how it is that Krystyna was lynched and not you. Could you walk me through it? I started at the beginning but it is easy to go off on a tangent in this threadEntjen Gillis wrote:wb Agnes! Jennets early vote![]()
I also noted that Jennet voted for you a few times.
Also, oh Joy, more vague, cryptic Sarah Good suspicions. You ladies who think that she is the strongest suspect in this thread, maybe you should just vote for her and get it over with.

I think Jennets case is pretty good, better than most thus far, but we still have time so I don't plan on voting just yet.

Day 1: an early rivalry emerged between Agnes and Entjen. Agnes got the most votes, but no one was lynched. Agnes said "I will not be lynched" and she wasn't."
Night 1: Agnes was killed. Later, it was revealed that she was Harry Potter.
Day 2: Bridget was lynched with broad consensus due to the perception that she knew too much about what Voldemort's team was capable of. She flipped civvie.
Night 2: Katherina survived a kill attempt.
Day 3: Krystyna caught a lot of heat for suggesting that Slytherin students marked as civvies were pretty much just baddies waiting to happen. Entjen was still suspected from Day 1, and got quite a few votes as well. Krystyna ended up lynched and flipped civvie, even though Entjen had more votes.
Night 3: Jennet survived a kill attempt.
Day 4: A lot of people have been looking at low posters, suspecting hidden badness there.

Don't you think that is worth looking into, at least a little bit? If you don't want to question it, fine, that's your choice. But I think it's worth looking into and I don't think it's suspicious to want to discern why we are being told now.
I think you might be wrong about Entjen, but either way she is insanified and so I think that discussion should wait until another day. By the way, the insanifier is a civvie role in this game.
I would like to hear from Barbara today as well. I didn't see how big the connection was between her and Jennet until Alizon just brought it up. Barbara has indeed been lurking in Jennet's shadow for most of the game. The only thing Barbara has done differently from Jennet was her vote for Margaret yesterday, a suspicion she never mentioned until she set it up exactly one post before she voted. When Alizon called Barbara out for not responding to Bridget's post, all Barbara said in response was "I stand by my vote".

Re: [DAY 3] Harry Potter Mafia
Krystyna I def do not have btsc, and if I did, don't you think my posts would be a little more consistant
because I would have an idea what is going on from my btsc? I am all on my own here, and I really am just busy.
I can't speak for whether or not anyone saw it as snarky only how I did, but when I see things that way I would rather not get an attitude back which is why I chose to step away from it for the moment. We can argue that you did not take it the same way but everyone takes things differently.
I do think win conditions are important because people don't know what they need to be doing to win. I have played games where you are required to be alive at the end, and I have played games where you win if your team (civ, or bad) wins at the end regardless of if you are alive and or greatly changes how people play.
I'm sorry that you don't agree that there has been more discussions about roles and the like than suspicion. it seems like every time I check the thread there is talk about roles and whether or not a role can be good or bad based on the books and stuff like that. While I find it ok to talk about those things some I feel like some people may be pushing the conversation in that direction to steer the conversation away from talking about the players, so that when lynch time comes its a big clusterfuck of random suspicions coming out of the woodwork and a civvie will be lynched.
I don't think I am shrugging off responsibility for missing the vote. I hate missing votes, which although you don't know who I am, I will tell you it's not something I often do. I said it was my fault, and I don't know who I would've voted for because hindsight is everything and when you see the result its easy to say oh I would have done this or that. Point is, I didn't vote and I missed a lot of that discussion so I can't go back and change that and offer you up with a name just for the sake of naming someone

I thought it was already cleared up that the students were civvies?
I'm not sure why there is still this much debate going on?A Person wrote:Also, the only group that had btsc initially was the baddie team. Whether anything has changed, who can say?

Re: [DAY 2] Harry Potter Mafia
responses in red below... Sorry if I messed up quoting or making it red. In a hurry

Defending Bridget is what I was saying. Your post to me and the prior one to someone else seem attacking those who are voicing any suspicion of her. But maybe I am reading that wrong, and I'd have to decide how I feel about her before I connect it in any way to youJane Southworth wrote:Sorry, I assumed you hadn't read because you said you hadn't read:Entjen Gillis wrote:First off I have read, i am just out so it's not so thoroughly as I would have liked.Read through everything. I haven't had time to go back through the roles and everything to find the explanation that some seem to be eluding to. I don't have the roles memorized yet so it takes me a bit of back and forth to get a grasp on what is going on.Entjen Gillis wrote:I personally haven't had the time to read through everything to find the explanation yet.
You said that right here:Entjen Gillis wrote:Where did I say I don't remember anything about it?Quoting it still doesn't show me saying I don't remember ANYTHING. I simply don't recall for sure that it was Bridget and not someone else.Entjen Gillis wrote:I can't remember atm but there was someone Agnes asked me to look at before she died.
You said that right here:Entjen Gillis wrote:Or that I felt so strongly about it?And I interpreted "sticking out to me" to mean you felt strongly about it. Forgive me if that was an improper conclusion to make.Entjen Gillis wrote:if it wasn't Bridget I want to look at whoever it was because something about that is sticking out to me
So now you don't want to read back to find your own suspicions because... because you interpreted my post as snarky? The intention of my post was to better understand where you were coming from and which things were important to you and why they were important to you. But if all you saw was snark, and a chance to try and twist it around into suspicion of me, and an excuse to not go back and sort through your own suspicions... well that's your prerogative I guess. But I was simply trying to understand your thoughts.Entjen Gillis wrote:I want to make sure it was Bridget's name before I condemn her, and since I didn't have time to go back when I posted it.
So to recap: snarky attitude has made me not want to read back.
Ok here is why it seemed snarky to me. You take a couple of sentences of mine then at the bottom put something like "so to recap" you don't remember anything and the like. I fail to see why anyone needs to "recap" a couple sentences with a couple more. Everyone is fairly capable of reading them themselves.
It does scream of snark to me, and it's not that I don't want to sort through my own suspicions but when I take something as snarky I'd rather not try to sort through the posts at that time.
Not sure why you see it as me being defensive (defensive of what exactly?) instead of me trying to understand your suspicions.Entjen Gillis wrote:Not sure why you are being so defensive when I wasn't even talking about you.

Re: [DAY 2] Harry Potter Mafia
First off I have read, i am just out so it's not so thoroughly as I would have liked.Jane Southworth wrote:I see nothing in this post that explains why you are voting for Bridget. You spend some words discussing thoughts on the player behind the sock account, but that only seems like filler in the place of actual suspicion. If anything, your post reads like a defense of Bridget, but you voted her anyways. Were you just looking for a bandwagon to hop onto?Krystyna Ceynowa wrote:I'm voting Bridget. I think we all have a pretty good idea who is behind the puppet, and I think this is just typical them trying something slightly different because they have a puppet to hide behind. I honestly don't think (s)he expected to be called on it with votes, and that was the reason for taking the risk.

So to recap: you don't understand something that you haven't yet read.Entjen Gillis wrote:Sorry not going to be around much todaybut I'm trying to keep up when I can. I don't really understand the Bridget thing. She seems like she is voting/playing weird and I see there has been some talk about that. I personally haven't had the time to read through everything to find the explanation yet.
So to recap: Something about Agnes' suspicions sticks out at you, but you can't remember anything about it. Why do you feel so strongly about something you don't remember?Entjen Gillis wrote:I can't remember atm but there was someone Agnes asked me to look at before she died. I feel like it was Bridget as well, which doesn't do her any favors in my book (if it wasn't Bridget I want to look at whoever it was because something about that is sticking out to me)

Yes, please show your reasons, even if it's just a cut and paste. I seriously have no idea what you and Jennet are thinking in regards to Bridget. Why is a Bridget lynch the best option at this point, even though mere hours ago you said you thought it would be futile? I just want a glimpse into your thought process.Barbara Kollerin wrote:I may as well cut and paste Jennets post to show my reasons, we are apparently in sync on this. At this point a Bridget lynch is the best option.
Where did I say I don't remember anything about it? Or that I felt so strongly about it? I want to make sure it was Bridget's name before I condemn her, and since I didn't have time to go back when I posted it.
So to recap: snarky attitude has made me not want to read back. Not sure why you are being so defensive when I wasn't even talking about you. Is your teammate getting lynched?

Can you at the very least tell us if the teachers have btsc? Like.... are they a team of togetherness or are they just 4 separate roles doing miscellaneous scholarly wizard shit?
Really we do need to be given some win conditions. Because I'm not even sure what the purpose of the game is at this point. What do we do

Also, I'd like to point out the teachers can have a kill as an ability. And we aren't sure what their alignment is. It's all very scary. I think we would want to take out Voldy and company first but may need to lynch teachers too after.
There is a lot of discussion going on, but it's a lot about roles and little about the players. We still got some time this day but I know I need to start figuring out who I think it most suspicious now. This is all very distracting

Re: [DAY 2] Harry Potter Mafia
Does anyone see win conditions listed?
my understanding based on how the roles are set up on the first page, is the students and teachers are different teams. Regardless of if you want to use the word baddie or not... They likely have a different win condition and could be a threat to the students.
Lol I keep trying to post at the same time as Mary. We are on the same pageMary

The only way you'd know she was good Bridget is if you are a member of the other team

There are two mafia teams. So while she was killed by one it is still possible she was a member of the other.Bridget Bishop wrote:She got killed so she wasn't good? How is that possible?Entjen Gillis wrote:There are secrets. Just because she wasn't lynched doesn't mean she is automatically good.
