Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 16]

I am inspired to speak about the child of wise Epignosis. May it be that he has earned the fealty of some for his valor in battle, and his unending thirst for combat? This spirit would warn against such a notion, as the rules of reason and bravery are different for such a young one. He should not be judged the same way others are judged. He wants to fight because fighting is exciting.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 16]

I have examined each name remaining in our story. I have instructed a student to hold a knife to my throat and to demand that I speak with total truth my feelings about whether each may be our lone murderer. I will share with you those feelings which I expressed under threat of death:

The clever fish: not anywhere in this world.
The one called Boomslang: it is possible.
The one called DFaraday: it is possible.
The bearer of jars: my trust holds sway.
The striding one: not anywhere in this world.
The one called Matahari: it warrants consideration.
The ninja warrior: I have pledged to support the will of the bearer of jars.
The confused little girl: my trust holds sway.
The child of wise Epignosis: may we pray not, for his destruction would be the most difficult of trials.

It would seem that at the deepest depths of my soul, my attentions are focused upon the ones called Boomslang, DFaraday, Matahari, and the child of wise Epignosis. Of those, the one called Boomslang alarms me most.

And voting-wise:

WE MUST NOT VOTE NINJA/BLOOPER AGAIN! I must be emphatic here. We must look elsewhere.

I was really hoping we wouldn't get a NK from the DingDong, but here we are. I feel VERY strongly that Bass should be 1 of our options today. For the other option, my POV is that Boom or DF are our best choices. I would lean towards Boom, personally, because he did yet another drive by vote.

Best choices for today: Bass, Boom, DF

I prefer: Bass & Boom
This spirit feels VERY strongly that the clever fish must NOT be one of our options today. I will support your defense of the ninja warrior if that is what you believe in. I ask that you support me in favor of the clever fish. The striding one is not to be attacked either. Nor will seek the destruction of the confused little girl or yourself, bearer of jars.

We can eliminate many possible evils if we work together. We must not vote for the clever fish. I will not vote for the ninja warrior. We must work together. There are other options.

indiglo wrote:Oh, I'm down with voting leetic, I have no problem there.

It's just ninja/blooper that I'm not sure about voting. So you think ninja/blooper could also be Yellow, hence the SpaceDaisy reference? Or a remaining, inactive Nan?

Do you have anyone in mind for the Indy SK who will inherit the Yellow NK? Because that seems like a good place to vote if we're working on vanquishing the Yellows.
If we are willing to assume that the muderers of all factions have not been murdering because of their inaction and apathy, then the answer is simple:

The sole remaining wearer of the yellow turban is leetic, or it is nobody.

The sole remaining bearer of the scent of the Nanman is leetic, or it is nobody.

Both the yellow turbans and the Nanman may even be gone to us already. This is plausible enough. In such a world, the killer who acts alone is leetic, or it is nobody.

The second vote is a matter of who is suspicious without consideration of the variables. The variables do not favor anyone but the one called leetic. This spirit feels that the ninja warrior is the least trustworthy among the remaining souls.

indiglo wrote:I guess what I really want to know is, how sure are you about Ninja/Blooper?

As sure as you are about leetic? As sure as you were about Mac?

You catch my drift there, spirit brother? :noble:
Understand that this spirit respects the rules of nature above all else. I will say though that I am not certain about the ninja warrior, not as I was about MacDougall. My confidence is limited to my ability to judge the heart of the ninja warrior with limited exposure to her public image. However, my confidence against the destruction of the clever fish is stronger. This spirit feels that destroying the clever fish would be no more sensible than destroying yourself, bearer of jars, or even the one who speaks only in metaphor.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 15]

Only one name truly fits the inaction of the yellow turbans. That is the one called leetic. The clever fish does not fit. Nobody fits. The Nanman and the yellow turbans may both be gone to the spirit world, and leetic remains as the silent lone murderer.

I have followed the call of nature as ever before for the second vote. The clever fish exhudes an aura of trust and of peace. This spirit does not understand why he endures such antipathy. The soul of the ninja warrior burns less brightly. She conducts herself much like the flower of the heavens which we long ago vanquished.

To perceive the yellow tint in the spirit aura of the house leetic does not require reading his scrolls. They are few and brief. One must only understand that they who wear the yellow turbans are absent from our story, but not surely passed to the spirit world. The one called leetic is the only remaining soul whose silence is suitable to the yellow turban tradition of inaction and absence. If he is not of their kin, then they have no living kin; or their surviving soul is deliberate in his or her refusal to act under the cover of night.
indiglo wrote:@Zou - I have a couple of questions, only answer if you can. Do you have win conditions? Are they the same win conditions you had when you were alive?

Oh wise spirit, the clever fish had won 2 previous duels (with warriors) with relative ease, in the first bout, I might add. I was relying on the same thing happening between him and Mac. B_T_C is a Good bet in a duel, based on what has already happened.
Your perspective is understood, striding one. Be wary though, for now we are few. Our villages are reduced to a barren state, only a small number of brave men remain to stand against those who would destroy us. To endanger them further when there is another way would be unwise.

Fortune has favored the clever fish so far, but fortune may turn without warning if it is tested. Let us pit our enemies against each other. MacDougall does not know what it is to be at peace, and we must show him. He of the house leetic looks to possess a wardrobe of much yellow. The clever fish is not suspicious to this spirit. The sound of your name causes you to perspire, and the odor carries a faint scent of the Nanman. In my meditations I was stung by the memory of the treacherous rodent spirit animal of the nameless one, and of your own inaction in pursuit of his execution. Remind us as you might of the good doctor and your part in his end, but know that the hourglass has turned over and over since that day. Let free your words of innocence or be judged by nature.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 12]

I mourn your loss, Dunny, and I bear the responsibility for your destruction. I have misinterpreted the whispers of nature. I will meditate on this.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 11]

To understand my actions, one must only listen to the whispers in the wind.

I have prepared a scroll containing the complete works of the one calling himself Dunny.

It is finished. This day may continue uninhibited by the stresses of conflict.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 10]

The currents carry me toward a Dunny vote. I believe there are few alternatives. The air carries a scent of Nanman when one stands downwind of him.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 10]

It is my instinct to believe the testimony of the man Boomslang. I did however report this occurrence to the most esteemed mathematicians in China to satiate my curiosity. Their oracles inform them that an accidental declaration of fealty to two members of a fringe faction would be impressively improbable. I would welcome consideration of this notion, though I freely release myself from such a dialogue. I commune with spirits, not with metaphysical symbols.

Please child, speak with me for a moment. You have presented a riddle which remains unsolved, and I am inspired to make an attempt. Your conflict with pictures in motion is the purest expression of your wu wei. It is to be lauded; it is to be respected. My thoughts drift to the Nanman, those who would bring destruction upon us, those not in concert with pictures in motion. I would ask that you speak of your actions in the second day, that which saw the rodent spirit animal of the nameless one vanquished despite your protestations. You showed fear of deception by the dark doctor, that his engagement with the rodent spirit animal is not something to be perceived as truth. My heart aches, as I cannot in true faith state that your words were in error. You are a renown authority in these matters, and it is to be expected that your expertise would lead you against the rodent. Please speak to me of your mistake, and allow me to know it as a mistake.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 10]

Four souls yet breathe who have declared fealty to the nameless one. Nature quakes in anticipation for their testimony. Let loose the guilt within, and I will listen. I am compassionate to your folly.

Ninja maiden from across the yellow sea, let your words free.

You of the house Leetic, let your words free.

Dunny, heroic victor over our fallen foe, let your words free.

Boomslang, dear child, your fealty was to the nameless one and also his rodent spirit animal. You must let your words free.
