Sorry host and players that I have been so fail. I am surprised to find that I am still alive, but more surprised that it's apparently Chapter 2 again. I'm like really far behind but I'm gonna try to recommit myself to the game because Damn the Heathens.
I'm going back to read some of what I'm missed but does anybody have a recent summary of events for me?

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER V]
What does "likely a civ" mean Deb? My name is Jonah and I am the first of my name. I'm a tad demoralized about how this games going so far and I'm having trouble staying invested. I want to be more involved I just gotta get into the game.Deborah wrote:Jonah is likely a civ, but there is a weirdness to his set of posts. He posted a ton on Day 1 and then dropped off the game for 6 days. Then he says "sorry, I forgot about the game"? I can understand a low poster somehow forgetting, but Jonah posted a lot at the start and was very invested. Unless this was a host player switch and this is really a Jonah 2.0 in which case the comment makes sense? There is also a sort of flippancy to Jonah's posts that feels weird, but it's the kind of thing that generally gets jodged when you know the player posting it, so it's kind of null atm, I guess.
Jeph sounds bad to me and if I had to vote right now like Solomon Says it would be for him
I don't think Malchus is bad I think hes just absent
Balaam seems cool to me
Not sure what to think about Lot
I'm over everything about Uzziah I don't know what to make of it any more
Pilate is brash and tyrannical and I wonder if hes washing his hands of all of this
And something feels really off to me about Rahab... darkhorse candidate for my vote. it's all just vibes if you must know.
That's about all Ive got for now.......

This is getting pretty depressing. RIP Joby. I often caught myself thinking you were the Jewish Moby.
Other times I caught myself just thinking everyone you loved died before you, and how God watched you suffer
Other times I wonder if that's happening to all of us right now

I dont want to talk about Job and Uzziah much if you must know. because I have an idea about what might be going on between them. I take issue with the logic that their feud means one of them must be bad, that logic doesnt fly in this game or any mafia game. they could both be wrong about each other it happens all the time even if there feud is legit. you have to give a reason to suspect someone because it cant just be that they suspect each other. think about it for a second Joby. the longer they let you two drag this out the easier they can go "Well we need to lynch one of them" "Oh one of them must be bad". They are loving this my fellow sinner. Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER III]
Yeah I gotta agree if anything it points to a setup. From my experience a team of five isnt gonna follow the whims of one member. if Absalom is a heathen he doesnt have total control over the kills. But the heathens as a group might decide to make the kills that will incriminate him. Odd that Lot isnt considering this possibility more and the fact that hes pushing this angle causes me to trust him a little less. Would not be surprised to find myself voting for Lot as I feel theres been a few posts of his that have stood out to me in a bad way like thisIsaac wrote:So, Lot, this is the only thing I find myself agreeing with in your expansive post against Absalom. And I'm surprised you're not more willing to consider this a possibility. As I've stated in a previous post, I believe that someone may be trying to control him in some way that causes him to be very angsty today. I'm also surprised that noone else seems to be talking about the possibility of Absalom being framed. Imo, Absalom is such an obvious link between 3 of the 4 deaths so far that I think there actually is a pattern between the NKs. And it's not that they were annoying.Lot wrote:Now Absalom feels soooo closely linked with three out of four deaths. For me there are really only two possibilities - either Absalom is bad, or the heathen really have it in for him and are trying to set him up to look bad.
Makes it harder for mafia to latch onto other peoples wrong thoughts too now doesnt itRahab wrote:This is probably the quietest full game I've ever played. It's great for catching up on RL busy days, but terrible for finding things to catch mafia on. Or for much conversation, really.
Something about this post Rahab. Something about this post. makes me think you want people talking for all the wrong reasons. since you complain about no one talking but dont bring up any talking points except to ask balaam about his lists or whatever. you want us to do the dirty work so you can help us stone one of our Lord's chosen
Got my eye on ye Rahab
Well yeah she didnt have to but she did. And as a heathen she may have felt that it would appear to be the most genuine looking vote she could muster. Look at Sheba's other posts in the game theres not many of them but they all talk about Cain. It would have stood out if she voted for anybody else. And I'm thinking she doesnt want to stand out.Jephthah wrote:Batsheba was the last to vote for Cain. She didn't really have to do it, because it was the end of the day and he was getting lynched anyway. So to me, it's more likely that she's either a civvie who believed Cain was bad, or a baddie who thought he was another type of baddie, out of her group, if the horsemen are bad for example. Either way, it seems as though that's what she believed. Otherwise she just ends up looking like the worst bandwagoner.
But guys I think Deborah is a whale check this out
CHAPTER I
CHAPTER IIDeborah wrote:You do not think that there is a chance Cain is bad? And that him picking up some votes may have made it a lot easier for people to vote for Samson?Pilate wrote: What does it tell you specifically?
And to Rachel, here is how I work. I read the thread in general, but I prefer to click the "in topic" button and read a player's post in order. It is easier to see apathy, suspicious tendencies, over-posting about useless crap to hide a lack of real content, etc. So I read through the people who hd acted on the poll and those getting votes, and Cain pinged me. I am sorry that you do not like that. I can write a gigantic wall post breaking down my thoughts on every single player if you want, but it feels like ever since I voted for Cain that you and a few friends have been actively TRYING to make this into a thing, and you are not even bothering to consider that my ping may be right and that those votes against him were proper. I am sorry, but I am not going to apologize for that vote.
Deborah wrote:I think it is weird that a lot of people are not posting. No Paul, no Cain, no a bunch of less chatty people. There is only one silencer. Paul I could see silencing, tbh.Absalom wrote:I think it's weird that Cain disappeared today. Did he hope I would forget about him? I forget nothing!
I dont like the way Deborah quotes other players posts to prop up her own suspicions without actually saying things like I agree. Feels like theres some subtle manipulation going on here. Solomon asked us to look at the late voters but I think the middle voters are more suspicious. They don't wanna start something but they don't wanna end it either. Deborah falls squarely in that range in my book.Deborah wrote:Only in for a moment. I didn't like Cain yesterday and I haven't found a better case to replace it, so he gets my vote again.Malchus wrote:I think things point more to Cain being bad than Uzz.
My stone is probably getting thrown in Deb's direction because her posts feel slimy to me. Check it out all ye faithful and tell me if you agree or disagree. On page 1 you can find a filter of only Deb's posts I suggest ye all take a look and tell me what you see because Im seeing a whale
I know Ive been quiet lately but we gotta start talking or we'll never figure out whos trying to swallow us up and whos really trying to help

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]
I mean I guess Samson could be bad for not explaining his vote but like that's a horrible move for a heathen as they would want to explain their votes and blend in. Rookie move and his fellow Pharisees should have told him to post because people were asking about him. Not hard to make up a reason but he didn't even try. Think ye sinners have the wrong impression of him.
I will be voting Mary Magdalene as she seemed most opportunistic for jumping onto Samson's case. She read the whole thread supposedly and that's the only thing she felt was worth talking about. She didn't make a gut read on Samson or deduce anything, it's such an easy suspicion to fake and if she's wrong there's no fallout because obviously not explaining your vote can be construed as bad. Her vote is the mark of an unrepentant heathen.

And Paul no one else really made me feel super strong enough Day 1 at that point to vote or talk about yet. Day 1s are always slow to start hunny.
Although, at this point I still want to vote Paul but I do think Uzziah's comment sounds like he's hinting to be a Horseman rather than Heathen. He has pretty big balls hunny to announce he's Heathen like that otherwise.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]
Hoooooo boy does this post raise some flags for me. it sounds like you know paul's 3 suspects aren't heathens so youre gonna help him lynch one so you can discredit his gut later.Balaam wrote:I bear no grudge against Paul at the moment, but the ruthless, unfeeling player in me thinks the best way to deal with an aggressive fisher like Paul is to put him to the test. Let's take him up on his three suspects and lynch one of them. He seems fairly confident that they are bad (though he threw up a smoke screen about not being 100% on anything). We can always call his bluff. If we lynch one of his top three and they're not bad, either Paul will cool it with the gunslinger rhetoric or the rest of us will know to take his words with a grain of salt.
What else do we really have to go on?
Cool sooo you're going to observe for the first three lynches and let everybody else do the hard work.. then join the fray once you've collected a bunch of ammunition on everybodyBalaam wrote:For better or worse, I am an empirical observer. I don't care about pings and feelings. Nor do engage in "forcing it" as Paul has done. I simply wait for people to expose themselves to me. This occurs through patterns in voting, process of elimination, and patterns of defensive and supportive behavior in the thread. If I survive past Night 3, I'll let you know what I've come up with.
Got it
Whales love this tactic because if we don't find a heathen early they can run the show and turn on the Lord's disciples for the mistakes they've made

I mean fair enough but the 4 roles that had to be eliminated in that game were nigh invincible. if all we gotta do is lynch 5 of them and they have to kill 25 of us i like our odds but I don't think we should ignore the coming apocalypse. You never know when the day of judgment is upon usBelshazzar wrote:Re: the Horsemen, I don't think they can be trusted at all or be expected to side with the Righteous. It's a heavily obscured, in terms of win condition and abilities, and terrifying, canon-wise, quartet. What Jonah said about finishing off the Heathens in order to win the game being "too easy" reminds me of Death Note: civs only had to eliminate four players (out of 27) to win, but bickered over an entire rogue faction being civ-friendly or not (granted, they were destined to receive the power to kill at certain point- although they never did), and almost all the four players that needed to be eliminated won the game unscathed. My point being we should primarly aim for the Righteous' win condition: take out the Heathens.
I agree though. Heathens are public enemy #1

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]
This post feels wishy washy without asking any specific questions like you wanna stay on the fence but still act like youre discussing things. I got my eye on you ShazzyBelshazzar wrote:Certainly an interesting start. At first I felt relatively ok with Paul's vote, but now I'm working my way through the details. He certainly did let us know that he'll vote right away for a suspect and he delivered that with brio. Samuel's opener could definitely be read as "scum", especially to a newbie, but I'm really not sold on it yet. I personally took it as the check-in banter and witty sock referencing that most of us did during sign-ups and Day 0. Waiting to hear from Samuel.
As for the rest from Paul, I suspect a culture clash between his way of playing and ours, but it's too early to tell how we'll truly get along. He calls players scum first, reasons second - first time (on Samuel) not before being asked to reason, then (on Lot) he reasons right away, which may be a bit of "fine tuning" on his behalf tbh. His reasonings are a mixed bag so far, some points looking like decent reads, others either reading too much into or simply poor as such - for instance, calling Samuel sus for his avatar (if he really mean it, of course; otherwise...wut); or shooting down Lot for saying "he'd consider voting" as a way of wagoning - in which case he might be unfamiliar that it's mostly an expression some of us use when debating over suspicious players throughout the course of the Day, especially when votes are not changeable, thus we literally save the voting part for last (that's my take on the issue, but I also think it's very little to accuse Lot of). Not to mention he says he "found one scum" in Lot, apparently forgetting he already called Samuel as well, which would make two, in his view. Very, very confusing.

well okay Deborah but you don't think a buncha hillbillies named Conquest War Famine and DEATH don't need to be delivered unto Hell? There's 34 roles in this game and only 5 heathens so if all it takes to win is getting rid of five assholes this game would be too easy. I don't think it matters as far as suspecting people but if we lynch a horseman you're not gonna see me crying over it.Rachel wrote:Deborah, we do not know the Horsemen's win conditions. Or maybe you are both Heathens and only said the one baddie group for that reason?Rachel wrote:The only people who know are the Heathens.Paul wrote:who actually thinks Ruth is scum right now show of hands

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]
I don't get why ye sinners are giving Paul a hard time I mean he's trying to identify those who are not doing our Lord's will and you're all turning on him like a bunch of pharisees. We don't have rvs on this site so he's doing what he can to gauge reactions. leave him alone I say and let him do the Lord's work. he's an easy target today because he's not playing like the rest of us but that doesn't make him a heathen. we should be accepting of those who are not like us

Hello all ye sinners. I'm voting for Apocalypse so I can tell these filthy Ninevites all about how they're going to burn in hell
