If hawkeye were on the poll I think I would vote him, tbh.
as it stands, I'm going to vote with shaw, phoenix is promoting the "vote marrow" idea and I feel weird aboutit now due to hawkeye so the whole lynching marrow thing feels like a magneto based plot to me. Its all I got, im at a loss for better.

I dont know, im just not sure I trust hawkeye, so I thus dont trust his choosing marrow, especially after his reasoning seems backwards. Marrow is likely to be protected, lets vote marrow? Maybe he jnows marrow is protected and slipped... like, after shaw yesterday marrow is the next low posrer. I could see magneto targeting marrow and then the baddies planning to vote that way since "magneto wouldnt protect marrow"... it all feels weird.

5 players have been NKed in this game while 6 players have been lynched. If the top 4 on the poll are the lynched players, I would bet that Exodus and Domino are both represented there. k4j could very well be Exodus like is being discussed. If I had to guess, I would say that Boogs was Domino. Thinking back to Domino's posts, Boogs is a good match IMO. Therefore, I will likely vote for either Elohcin or A Person for the top portion of the poll.
I'm still contemplating the bottom half.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
TBH, I try to not play with blinders on. Obivously, sometimes inactive players are inactive players. The tone of your posts is what pinged me more than the number of them. So, if you can read thru some of the cases, explain why you think A is a better place for your vote over B etc. I will reevaluate as needed. My mins isn't made up about anyone in this game.Marrow wrote:The problem is, if I vote for Shaw, and he's civ, you'll just look at it and say: "Guess he's keeping to the trend."
If I vote for him, and he's bad, you'll just look at it and say "He must have realized that we caught on!"
There's no way for me to win. I find him suspicious, but that's beside the point. I don't want to self-vote or vote for some random guy, because I want to actually catch someone, but I'm not seeing any way I can without you jumping all over me.
Also, for the last few in-game days, I've been coming into the thread a few hours before the poll ends. That's when I read up and vote. That's why I immediately saw Vision's post about me being quoted by Spiral second in the thread. That caught my attention. So, you suspect me for being inactive, which I'm going to try and stop being, not voting for civvies, and visiting the thread a couple of hours before the poll ends, as I have been doing most of the game.
I don't even know what to do anymore.
No matter what, don't throw in the towel. Hell, even if you're bad, you shouldn't. Always fight until the end.
FWIW, I'm voting Shaw over you today, so you've got no worries from me for the moment, anyway!

Hawkeye, I read back thru his posts an hour or so ago because I saw Mikhail had voted him. There's a subtle difference here, though.Marrow wrote:I want to apologize for not being around enough, RL has gotten in the way, and I'm struggling to vote every day. Other than me not being around, which is not my choice, your only other point against me is that I didn't lynch civvies. I see no flaws in that logic.
Player A has a vote history of not being on lynch trains of civs. They always discuss their reasoning for voting how they do, they put forth suspicions, they defend who they feel is civ and try to keep people from voting them.
Player B has a vote history of not being on lynch trains of civs. They never really pursue any suspicions. They never explain why they feel how they do about people. They just say "oh, that guy's civ, I'm not touching that lynch train".
Guess which tends to be a baddie?

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
I just read through Shaw's posts, all 27 of them.
He's done the same thing as Marrow; consistently saying "oh, that guy is good" with no explanation, and then when "that guy" is lynched and is civ, Shaw says "shoulda listened" or what have you.
These two sound like baddies coasting along, because baddies know who the civs are. And civs, if they have an info role or info from a prize, would try harder to convince people not to vote for civs; Marrow and Shaw just kind of put it out there that so-n-so is good without any thoughts.
I'm fine voting for one of them. Interesting to note, Shaw has been fairly supportive of The White Queen.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
Marrow has been very unhelpful. Reading thru the content takes about 3 minutes. And Marrow made a point a few times of staying clear of some eventual-civ lynches "I'm not touching THAT" etc. Baddies know who the civs are, so when someone is so defiantly against lynches that the rest of us felt were worth following, hindsight sometimes is telling.
But is that enough to warrant a lynch? It's Day 7, we've talked about so much... to now turn and lynch a quiet player seems weird, frankly. Is there a different quieter player whose got a better case to be made? I don't have time read back on Shaw or Deadpool, but I'm open to listening to cases there, and if we do go Marrow I'll support it, but I'd rather something a bit meatier.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
I've reread the Shadowcat/Exodus/Domino clusterfuck about 4 times, and every time I come up unsure. If Shadowcat is bad, she played it perfectly. If Exodus was bad, he played it horribly. If Domino was bad, it could go either way.
But here's my sticky point. if SC is bad, and Exodus was Gambit, I'm not sure I get why Domino (thus also bad, did what he did). If Domino kept his mouth shut about everything, we'd have likely lynched SC next. But by doing what he did, Domino died instead. One way, you've got a dead SC. the other, you've got a dead Domino and a Shadowcat STILL not cleared. It's wasteful, and when have you ever seen a baddie kamikaze like that for a teammate?
So I guess I'm leaning towards Exodus being Mystique, Shadowcat and Domino civs playing with very little subtlety about info lol, and the baddie team must be made up of a lot of inactive, unhelpful players?

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
I don't mean to infer that you might be the Sentinels, that was just an example of the various vote things in this game. And I've scrambled enough and caused enough scrambling in this game to not judge you for last-minute panicking. I just like to flesh these things out and read responses, etc.
As for the Shadowcat issue, the thing is, I feel her information was genuine, something Havok doesn't seem to see. He keeps calling it fake. But as I think you said, Exodus basically said that her info was correct, whatever it was, but that he hadn't come to such a definite conclusion as her, etc. So I don't think there is any doubt that shadow cat had that info, it's not fake. The question is whether she lied about it to pre-empt what she thought was an imminent such attack from Exodus.
IMO, yes a shadow cat would answer that question, of COURSE it would, but I don't like such ideas; the idea of lynching a player to find OUT if they are bad, is misguided. I do think we have to solve the Gambit question, but I feel like there has to be an answer somewhere in the thread. We've got to be smart and decide without blindly lynching SC. Counting how many players are left in the game, and IF Apocalypse has any kind of ties to some players, there are potentially very few of us civs left, so the idea of tossing one to the wolves for info isn't appealing.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
There's one problem with this explanation of yours. You clearly have your finger on the pulse here, you know how Cyclops' role works and you say that you tied up the lynch to put it in his hands. Yet, making the lynch a tie is in fact a way to guarantee that it WON'T go into Cyclops hands. His vote is worth three. And you don't know which player he is (I assume). So by definition, you say you wanted to put the lynch in Cyclops' hands but you created a situation that was VERY unlikely to do that, unless you also had knowledge of, say, the Sentinels' current vote strength etc.Polaris wrote:
Like I said yesterday, the reason I did switch my vote at the very end was because I just wasn't certain, so I figured that it couldn't hurt to pass the decision on to Cyclops, someone we know is a civvie, assuming he's alive.
If you wanted Cyclops to have the best chance to get a tie to judge, you should have made the lynch more lopsided and hoped he had voted on the lesser side.
I find it interesting that you had Cyclops' role so much in the front of your mind, but forgot this simple part of his role.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
Mikhail, I'm a little surprised that you have me so high on your list of suspects. I've never attacked you the way others have, and I've explained my shifting feelings about everything in the game as best I can. I covered the Magneto stuff like crazy during that one lynch because I found myself suddenly cleared to post with like 90 minutes left in the lynch period, and I had a lot to say in a short time. And remember that that pulled votes off of a civ; me barrelling in like I did made no sense if I were bad, why even admit i could speak in that scenario? the lynch was going fine, from a baddie perspective. I've been clear that I think solving the Gambot issue is paramount… basically, I'm surprised, because it seems like a lot of what I've been saying is similar to what YOU'VE been saying, thus your suspicion baffles me. Also in the last lynch, with people switching votes to WQ etc. my vote was on a third party. Why would I waste my vote if the assumption is that the baddies were working so hard to get enough votes where they wanted them?
I know I've been siding with Havok, but I've had my reasons and I've mentioned several times that I'm not 100% sure of my thoughts there, but I'm comfortable with it still.
I think we need two things. We need to lynch a baddie to solve the Gambit question. And then we need to talk about Apocalypse. But you won't get any of that from eyeing me. I'm going to go back now to figure out who might be best.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
Interesting. Okay, I can get on board the idea that WQ could be Apocalypse. I'm not going to say it's for sure, but it seems like a pretty decent idea, anyway. I've got to put some thought to this...Longshot wrote:Vision, I have the hosts permission to tell you that my book option did not have anything to do with players.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
We have lynched one. We just don't know which it is, lol. Frankly, figuring out which Gambit was the fake would go a LONG way towards figuring this game out.White Queen wrote: focusing on that role will not be helpful when we have not lynched a single baddie

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
True, the horsemen idea is just a working theory of mine. How else could he die though? He has to die for us to win, but he can't die by lynch or NK, so I'd bet I'm right.
@White Queen, I'm mulling over the last few posts regarding you and your various survivals. Can you elaborate at all on how you've been surviving, if a) only Apocalypse seems to have protection from both NK and lynch built into his role and b) it doesn't seem as if you've won any of the various night polls, etc?
@Longshot, Avalanche, Sebastian Shaw, who chose the same book as WQ back on Night 1 or whenever that was, can any of you, without blurting out details, say whether that book could possibly have something to do with WQ's survivals? Or, if you don't want to even touch on that, do you support her atm, or do you feel she is bad?
Thanks.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
I'm not in favor of lynching you Mikhail, I'm not sold 100% yet against you. My problem is more with some of the people around you.But for the moment, my main question for you is this. You said that we now know wq is Apocalypse. Show me hoe we know this. Pretend I just subbed in or something, and I know nothing. How do we know this?

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
Bansheee, I know what you mean, and it's a serious concern. In the comics, Apocalypse always found 4 mutants and amped them up, heightening their powers and calling them his "four horsemen".
Considering that Apocalypse can't be lynched or nk'd, I think it is a logical guess that he had to recruit some players to be his horsemen, and I think he will only die when they are gone.
So with two split lines, it could be Brotherhood on one side, horsemen on the other, with the rest of us spread amongst them, siding with whichever side seems civ. I know that I believe Havok to be civ, but he technically could be former civ, aka a horseman.
So yeah, I hear you. I know which side I'm supporting, but I have hesitated a bit recently to be too strident about it, because I do have some small doubts about all of it.
And if push too heavily against the brotherhood and leave Apocalypse to the side, we could end up unable to stop him later. I do feel, though, that if one side IS brotherhood and the other IS apocalypse-based, we have a good shot of lynching someone worth lynching today. I think it likely both sides are trying to weaken the other atm.

Re: X-Men [Day 7]
If we're going to remain split down two rough lines, with Team Havok and Team Mikhail, I'll take Team Havok.
