Explain what you mean.
Sorry - was trying to give a better explanation, but noticed the time and needed to vote/post and cut the whole thing short. Master procrastinator, this one.

She seems to just pop up before every deadline and quickly state her piece.
I know I've been playing like crap this game. I'm usually much better, but I feel like I'm hanging on to various aspects of my time (work, social life, mafia) with one finger on a cliff, if that metaphor makes any sense.

Mega thought post before vote. One, I don't know understand this speculation of seemers and people being able to appear as a player of their choice. That makes no sense to me and is distracting as I try to keep up. Two, while an interesting theory, I don't think there are going to be two of every role in the game, considering (as someone mentioned) the odd number of players, so I do think there is a seemer and not two trackers. Three, I'm still trying to decide between Golden and BR on who is the seemer and who is the real tracker, and I keep flip-flopping between the two, but as I've been keeping up and reading and doing a little re-reading, I'm leaning towards Golden being genuine and BR being the seemer. The more I look at it, the more it seems like a set-up than a genuine way to help the civs. As it's been pointed out, she did take her time disputing a role that supposedly belonged to her. Four, MM2, I feel like since you're upset, I should address you - I'm sorry if I've made you feel ignored. I enjoyed your jokey posts at the beginning, but at that time it did seem like you weren't contributing. You have been contributing since then, which is why I backed off. Hope there's no hard feelings.

When I saw the votes today on Dom and Reywas, I was perplexed, as there was no mention of them that I noticed in the past days. I'm still not seeing a great explanation of the Dom votes, but Rey's interactions with being questioned about how Golden could be on LC's team look floundering to me. However, I don't think it's enough for a vote today. Cookie, on the other hand - those responses regarding win conditions. Wow. I need to preserve myself, I've been writing this post for ages, and I know I just mentioned her and I'm refreshing to see votes on her, so I'm going with Cookie because that's a bigger ping than the others who have votes today.

Re: Day 4 -The Syndicate Mafia

The weather's crappy, the kids are napping, and I've got some free time to actually read back and say stuff in the thread. Yes!

I know I've been totally phoning it in this game, coasting along, and I hate that it's come to that. I was really excited to play this game, but it happened to start at a rather busy time for me, so I haven't been able to be as involved as I'd like. Anyway, enough of my excuses.

My votes look...well, you know what? Not as terrible as people are making them out to be. I stand by what I said to TGG about not voting on bandwagons I didn't believe in. Reywas says I subtly defended LC; I wasn't subtle about anything. I believed at the time that people were jumping on a case that I didn't find sound about him/her, but the things that I already mentioned that were brought to light in the last voting period that were not mentioned before (or I didn't notice them, which is likely) changed my mind. I suppose, as it's been going in the thread, that one must just take my posts how they want - organically or not. I suggest organic. But enough about me. Let's look at other things.

Still of the opinion that Synonym is good (especially assuming who he is behind the sock and my previous experience with him in-game). I don't really understand why others are adamant about him, except for perhaps the theatrics covering up baddiness? But my opinion stands.

Hmmm. As I write this, I see I have now gained the lead in votes, so I may have to hold mine to save myself. Of the people garnering votes, I'm most likely to vote BR - I've said my point about Synonym, I haven't gotten any particularly fishy vibes from Lacey (I think the back and forth between Syn and Lacey looks civ on civ), and I'm certainly good :noble: I like the points made about BR keeping her options open in the last lynch (Syn, Blooper, LC) and being relatively late with the vote (but that's not as compelling, as I was late, too). And if we're looking back at the no-kill Night 1 and the possibility of a missed PM from an inactive baddie, the fact that BR had to be replaced would fit that bill. But as I said, holding for now.

Re: Day 3 -The Syndicate Mafia

I intended a much more substantial and earlier post, and have intended to be more active in recent days, but real life (like, real real behind the sock life) has been kicking my ass in busyness and general stress lately, and it's starting to make me sick today. My apologies for not being around as much as I should, and for the pile of excuses.

This will be brief, because I feel like butt and need to lay back down. So, 10 votes for LC. I was a bit surprised to see that before catching up, but reading back, I can see why - comments on the lynch surviving power being more likely baddie than civ from other players, his evasion of questioning (barring info-dumping evasion), and his weird response to Cobalt's questioning of his bad vs. civ role: "it depends" etc. etc. I know I said before he wasn't on my list, but my mind has changed. I don't even know if any of that made sense, but I'm gonna vote LC.

Now gimme all the sleep and chicken soup.

RIP Gamer Guy 2/Wilgy :( Sad to see that role go. Lots to think about.

Tough poll choice with so many good games! I'm going with Biblical, because I worked sooooo hard in that one, despite the end result, and it made me laugh so much :D

Re: Day 2 -The Syndicate Mafia

I thought I would have more time/energy this weekend to be more active here, but I was wrong. Here I am for a bit before I finish up some necessary things. I have things to respond to, I see, and much of it is the same thing, so I'll try to get it in one response.
Gamer Guy 2 wrote: Elohcin, I would like to hear more from you. How do you feel about Dom, Scotty and Turnip Head? Did either the Long Con argument or the Synonym argument have more sway in your head? What made Synonym's case bad? was Long Con's also bad?

It worries me that Elohcin left the vote a tie based on Synonym's case being bad. It shows non-commitment and a willingness to allow either player to die, even though previously stating "civs needing to call out BS". A win-win situation on the chance that they are both civilian.
Scotty has 3 posts. His vote for Synonym was a drive-by. Too little to go on.
Turnip Head has 3 posts of little substance, but he says he's been out of reception. Too little to go on.
Dom seems concerned about baddie hunting, and has expressed this several times over people finding socks. I don't agree with his Synonym vote, but his posts look like baddie hunting as he asks questions, etc. And I agree with his vote for MM.

Neither of those arguments had sway in my head. I thought LC jumped on Synonym for what I saw as satire, and I think people jumped on LC for making a case. I didn't think it was a good case, but I think many people jumped on it (either for it or against it) because it was easy to do so. I agreed with Cookie's post on the matter in my vote post. As for more recent matters, I think Synonym's reactions to today's accusations look genuine, like a frustrated civ. Yes, I've seen baddies pull the frustrated civ act, but that's just where I'm leaning, so I will not be voting him today.

I don't understand why my previous vote would worry you - it makes perfect sense to me why I would not vote for someone because I thought the case on them was bad. And if I recall correctly, when I voted, it was not a tie, but I'll give you that is was certainly close. It doesn't show non-commitment: it shows that I don't vote for who I think is civilian, and that I don't vote for people simply because they have a large number of votes. That's called bandwagoning, and that's not good civ behavior in my book.

I'm sure I've left something out of this post from someone, but I'm happy to answer whatever I need to. As for my vote today, I believe I will vote MM again because the player is definitely hiding behind the sock, posting and voting without substance or reason still on Day 2, and it pings me more than others who have garnered votes today.

Caught up and popping in! Interesting turn of events with the no-lynch, and some hostility, I see. I have to go work out and eat, but I do plan to be back later to discuss what's happened in more detail and respond to some things. For now, here's a delicious bread turtle that I baked:

Re: Day 1 -The Syndicate Mafia

Sorry guys, busy with lots of things and popping in while I can! I don't want to vote for Synonym 2 or LC 2, so I won't. I think Synonym was being satirical and his frustration with people taking it too seriously seems genuine. I think LC's suspicion is wrong, but genuine. And this:
Cookie 2 wrote:
I cannot count all the games I have played where people vote for really weak, dumb reasons on day one. And one thing I HAVE seen as a common baddie tactic is to make someone have to overdefend their weak day one suspicion, and soon no one is talking about anything else, so the ping gets lynched. And when that weak day one ping flips civ, they turn on the person whom they forced to defend his weak day one suspicion and attack then THEM for their "better than random" day one ping. It's a pretty good day one strategy for a Mafia.

So, to parapharase Metalmarsh, I am not going to vote for Long Con OR Synonym. Since I have to go to work now, and may or may not be back before the poll ends, I AM going to vote for Sig. His post, the only on topic one I believe him to have made so far, felt EXACTLY like that kind of thing to me. Self righteous indignation over a day one ping seems a bit overdone, no?

VOTES FOR SIG

Linki w/TGG, this is the last thing he said, the post I am voting him for:
Sig 2 wrote:I looked back, and Syn 2 listed five names, he never said "are the five baddies" or anything that would be a true ping. I will be eyeing people who push that as a slip. :eye:
I hope he answers you, too.
The only thing is, I don't agree with voting sig either. I think he's made good points about civs needing to call out BS, and about looking at people jumping on Synonym's case. I don't really want to vote for anyone who's received votes so far either. I think I'll vote MM 2 today - it seems he's playing the MM meta, but his reason for voting Synonym is nonexistent when the "case" itself already looks bad enough to me. Now if you'll excuse me, I have hungry mouths to feed :)

Re: Day 0 -The Syndicate Mafia

Yay game! Sorry I took so long to check in! I spent all morning prepping a huge order for a cake, but just as I left the kitchen to grab my camera, the kids had eaten the whole thing! :( I had to start all over and send them away with Epi for the day.

...Speaking of that, where are they? I'm hungry and Epi needs to cook. Anyway, I'm going with Grimm's Fairy Tales because I think the kids would like them best :)
