Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]

Oh Right, unless me death sets Belshazzar up for some kind of amazing resurrection; that has been known to happen in the Bible, yah?

Wouldn't that be amazing, if you lynched me only to have an awesome & terrifying Death God be resurrected in my stead? Kind of like the Sacrifice the Game thread demanded? That would be pretty cool :)

And while I appreciate his output, there have been plenty of players (like MP) who can routinely be the top poster in the game and be bad, so I'm not weighting Bel's output as strongly as his voting record.
That's ok, Deborah. Next game I'll play like you or many others. To hell with top posting. :)
Balaam wrote:By my reckoning we are missing seven votes. Barring a miracle appearance by Bathsheba and Malchus, we can really handicap that down to five vote: Balaam, Belshazzar, Jonah, Rebecca, and Samuel.

I can't see Belshazzar voting for himself, so it will take some kind of late voting shenanigans from the other four to prevent his stoning.
I like how you included yourself on the shenanigans making watchlist. :p

Well that's a wrap, so I'll stay true to my word and place my vote on Rebecca.

My contributions truly were genuine, despite my flawed votes. Maybe some of you will still take note of that. That being said... I can't say you'll feel sad about me. In fact, you will most likely resent me after this lynch. I told you in a previous post there'd be repercussions, so brace for it.

And so with that mind, one final message for the Heathens as well:

Goliath and Nebuchadnezzar, hear me out! It is imperative that you take out Jacob, before any of you get dragged into a lynch. Imperative, I say. Do it! Just...
Spoiler: show
I am also considering a vote for Jacob. It was what Belshazzar seemed to want. I considered that it might be a trap, but not sure why he would bring me back, then trap me.

I am considering several possible votes. I like the thoughts on Isaac. Wasn't he my competition for my last lynch, too? I find Lots points on Lazarus intriguing. The whole Bathsheba replacing herself thing is too esoteric even for me.

It's interesting that Pilate was so gung ho to lynch me that he did not even want to give me a chance to speak my piece (whatcha scared of there, Pilate?) but no vote yet?

Hey you crazy kids :hugs:

Pay attention, I am not Belshazzar; I am Deaths Handmaiden, not Death himself. If you look at the big picture, being dead is not really all that big of an issue for Death. To be honest, (don't tell anyone, ok?) I kinda think you all helped him out by lynching him. I think he kinda NEEDS to be dead for that reign o'terror to begin.

It's the first wave.

As for me, I could stay or I could go. It doesn't concern me much.

I have to decide who i am going to vote for. It's an important decision.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER I]

You guys are fun :)

RIP Balaam. I hope you do, but really, who other than Death can say?

I don't know Belshazzars win condition, but I presume Belshazzar does; I would think he acted as he did for a reason :)

This isn't the first weirdness regarding the dead you have seen. Isaac v. Mordecai was not the first lynch where a deadie has had a vote that counted. Either you all have not been paying attention or you have been allowing yourself to be distracted with one bad lynch after another. I am sure that one of you is going to say, "She is just saying that", and you know what? That could be true. They might also say, "Why would she say anything and tip deaths hand?". Well, at this point, it does not much matter, does it? Lynching Death was a mistake :feb:

It won't be the last weirdness you see either. The Army of the Dead has no interest in the needs of its former compatriots of the living. Lynch me, and I will die. But you can't keep lynching us every day. If you see a riddle, you should solve it, not just throw a knife at it :) Feel free to throw that knife, I am the hand maiden of Death. What is there for me to fear?

My guess (and it IS a guess; as I said, I have no knowledge of Belshazzars win cons. Just some mechanics and my part in them) is that Death could play for either side when alive. But the instrument of his death set that in stone. The NK is the instrument of the Heathen; the stoning is the instrument of the good people of Sin-d’kaht, the weapon of the Righteous.

Have a good day. I will see you at the Stoning Field.

I'm going to trust my gut and declare that Balaam and Absalom are likely town because they are reading genuine to me. I also think the wolves have avoided attention for the most part, instead piling on a couple of major candidates each day (as Balaam pointed out).

What do players think of Ruth? Apparently I missed her when I left the thread the other day, and she asked me what I wanted to discuss like as if I hadn't said it. Paul had mentioned that MANY people declared an intention to vote for Ruth early on due to her trying to figure out everyone's identities, but then no one did, and NO ONE is talking about her. At all.

What's the deal? I don't even have reason to find her particularly suspicious, but her game is the epitome of flying just low enough to avoid major attention but not flying TOO low to seem as if she's not contributing.
What do you want to discuss with me? I recall a few people saying I was suspicious because I was curious about how obvious Paul was being, but I don't recall MANY saying they WERE going to vote for me. I think you're exagerrating just a wee bit there, hrm?

A lot of people are not being talked about, and quite a few are flying lower than I. Does it upset you that *I* am not being talked about because Paul wanted to talk about me? You keep wanting to talk about me, but all you have to say about me is that Paul thought I was suspicious, and that people should be talking about me more.

Start the conversation. Let's talk about me; I'm a fun topic :)
Jephthah wrote:And Lot, do I need to quote your flip floppiness where you start by thinking I'm bad and choose me as your top suspect, continue with saying you completely changed your mind, only to come back and accuse me again?
I thought changing your mind is not allowed. It's a baddie tell.

And now I'm really out.
Since when is changing your mind always bad? As things change, new evidence comes to light, perhaps colored by night results as well. Or if someone puts up a good defense. Lots of valid reasons for mind changing. I get your point, flopping like a fish is not the same as just mind changing. Do you really think he's bad, or is this a No U sort of thing?

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER V]

Two dead, RIP you guys, assuming you were heroes, not villains. So it looks like the Amorites are off the poll?

Did Famine kill Barnabas? I don't believe Epi generally modkills people, even though Barnabas has not posted in days, and only had 10 posts. His last post was during Chapter One:
Barnabas wrote:
Balaam wrote:No I don't see it but, then again, it's not my style. Who has been forced to show their hands and what makes you say so about them? I'm trying to keep tabs on who you suspect so I can determine whether or not you're actually as good as you're intimating.

I bear no grudge against Paul at the moment, but the ruthless, unfeeling player in me thinks the best way to deal with an aggressive fisher like Paul is to put him to the test. Let's take him up on his three suspects and lynch one of them. He seems fairly confident that they are bad (though he threw up a smoke screen about not being 100% on anything). We can always call his bluff. If we lynch one of his top three and they're not bad, either Paul will cool it with the gunslinger rhetoric or the rest of us will know to take his words with a grain of salt.
Are we going to put every person's convictions to the test each dayphase? I heavily discourage this tactic. Paul will make his case. If any of his cases sound convincing, we may choose to follow his lead. But it's risky to start testing everyone's scumhunting skills just because they're vocal.
Since we have not seen a kill from the Horsemen before, I am wondering *why now*?

Also interesting was the suggestion in the post that we all vote as soon as we can for the person we most suspect. Personally, I think we should always try to vote for the person we most suspect, rather than bandwagoning people we don't suspect, or even giving people flak for not jumping on a bandwagon for someone they don't suspect :suspish: But no one has followed that suggestion, while I am sure that people other than Nico & I have read the night post. At this time I still most suspect Uzziah, but after that last lynch, girlfriends & boyfriends, we need to talk.

There are 24 living (26 during the last lynch). So with 21 votes (25 voters, 4 were nons) 5 people did not vote. I did not check, but a few were probably habitual vote missers like Barnabas. What struck me about that lynch was how close the two bandwagons were at one point, 4 for Balaam and 6 for Job after Jephtaph voted for Balaam. Then each got one more vote, and they were still 2 votes apart, and at the end 2 more people piled on Job.

I need to reread that whole day over again. I was afk for various reasons for most of a week, and will have to time to do this this weekend. So sorry for low balling you guys.

He jumped on me for something that I don;t even understand what the issue was. It just feels like an attempt to make a nothing into a something.

I also am a bit wary of Pilate. The little Deborah has said was incredibly blendy. My opinion of several people will be based on how Job flips.

Linki, Jeph, he sounds frustrated to me. Been there, done that myself. But I have to say I also feel Rachel sounds like she believes what shes saying. So if Job does flip civ, I am not ready to turn on Rachel.

How is voting for someone you suspect not helpful? We have a voting record, and we can use that info.

I am voting for the person I most believe to be guilty. I understand the case on Job, but i just don't think he's bad. And I think most of the other suspicions are mountain/molehill stuff. Oh Holy Landers, so sorry. The non Biblical world kind of kicked my butt this weekend. I will read back and catch up today, but if I do not get caught all the way back up, I will be at work when the poll ends, but hopefully will be caught up. If not I suppose I will vote for Uzziah who was the person I would have voted for were I not silenced the other day. But work should be fairly slow today.

I look forward to reading back and seeing if we ever figured out (or had any good theories) about what happened that day.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER II]

That is why I wondered if there was some sort of multiplying mechanic at play, or mimic power(s). Because I know I was not lying, and I doubt Cain was. Beshazzar made a huge post right after the Lynch, and Paul did signal with a vote, although he had not spoken since prior to the end of Day 1.

So

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER II]

I have heard of games with 2 silencers, never 4.

So either a few people are fibbing (and Cain was not just lurking, he was lurking while being lynched, as Lazarus says) or some crazy shit is happening.

I do not know who silenced me.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER II]

He was lurking in the thread. But not posting. That's fairly standard signalling, especially in a sock game where you aren't supposed to post in your sock outside of the game thread.

Maybe I just noticed cause I was doing it, too, and I don't think anyone noticed me, either.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER II]

Well, I think it is fair to say that Cain was silenced, you say you were silenced, I am saying *I* was silenced, and Paul voted without posting, which might imply HE was silenced.

Could there be a power multiplier role or something of that nature? Becasue a game with FOUR silencers is going to be really hard, and annoying, to boot.

Re: Biblical Mafia [CHAPTER II]

I don't believe you guys lynched a silenced person. Didn't anyone notice him lurking in the thread? That was weak.

Had I been able to vote, I probably would have voted Uzziah.

I skimmed along a bit, but still need to finish catching up. RIP Cain :(

And I'm not sure I think Paul was also silenced; this is his last post. It was made on Sunday, before Day 1 even ended. He did not post Night One, either. Plus how many silencers are there??
Paul wrote:i have already made my vote today it will be interesting to see how everyone talks and votes

i know i talk a lot (lol) but i try not to unless i have a reason to so you know i really do not think i have anything else to add atm

d2 will be more fun

wake me when d2
Linki; You were silenced, too? :faint:
