Re: The Syndicate 2014 Game of Champions [Day 10]

You guys are voting me for student council president, right? I'd be honored.

I'm not super excited about the mob vote on Boomslang. With fleeting time, I'm tempted to fly UTR and add to it, but I'm going to do what I should have done ages ago and stick to a daisy vote for the same reasons I did last time.

I hope you guys are right about Boomslang, I do. I see both sides of the case, but while succinctly laid out, his voting records, vibe, presence and in-thread behavior suggest otherwise. It's a lot to risk if he is Boe. I've been dying to play a game with that type of role for ages. I honestly can't tell if y'all are info dumping or joking at this point by the way.

In summary: Boomslang: more pudding than portents.

zeek wrote: So you didnt like the cases on DH or Snowy, but voted DH anyway? Despite having a record of not voting for people who had any chance of being lynched? That does not make sense.
Hey, I'll be the first to confirm when I do DAS. The DH vote was a dumb move. A rookie selection. Being too stealth and I made a bad call by making a stupid vote over the alternative of missing the vote. If I had come by 5 mins later or earlier, I would have voted Snowy instead, and Tia would never have been hit by the milk truck.

The Mongoose Protocol is still alive and well. I'm shimmying off for the night to dream of making the absolute perfect homemade yoga mat cleaner or that Chris Pratt will show up at my house in a tuxedo.

Your joking will not distract me from the facts. Do you mean you didn't like the cases on DH and Snowy?
I didn't love them, but I was not as involved as I liked, which is only my fault. It was rather hellacious being gone 5 days on vacation and then having a copious amount of thread to catch back up on. I'm legit mortified to admit I made like fat free milk and skimmed it like whoa. Going for vibes more than fact-based arguments. You do what you can and then try to be better.

It was also much easier to stay current with the thread when I was able to access the site on breaks at work. A lot goes on in this thread between 7am when I get ready for work and 7 or 8pm when I get home from yoga, and I got overwhelmed a bit. I won't even deny I was flying a bit UTR but that wasn't because I had anything to hide, I was just phoning it in a bit.

But now it's Day 10. It's time to stop phoning it in. It's time to get real.

DharmaHelper wrote:1) Dom and Boomslang have several exchanges starting at D1 despite Dom voting for MetalMarsh and Boomslang voting for me. Despite their exchanges, Dom's vote for Boomslang never really mattered

He voted 16th overall (including host option) in the Day 1 lynch, giving Boom 3 votes when I'd already gotten 5 and MM had 3. Shortly thereafter, Boom voted for MM along with Eloh giving MM 7, pretty much knocking Boom out of the running

The only other time Dom voted for Boom, he voted late again (15th overall) and was one of only two people to do so.

2) Boomslang has made at least two posts that pinged me:
Boomslang wrote:I really am having trouble figuring out what to say this lynch. Obviously, I'm somewhat happy that Dom is getting attention, because I sure as hell don't deserve the tunnel vision hunt he's been throwing my way ever since Day 1. But jumping on that will make me seem bad, so... maybe I better keep my opinions to myself.
And
Boomslang wrote:Caught up, frankly still unsure what's going on. Just let it be noted that Dom has been gunning for me this whole game; I think that burnishes my civvie cred a bit.
The first seems odd, because why would a civ care if they sounded bad if they genuinely thought what they were saying was true?? The second is classic distancing.

3) Boomslang's noncommital votes, as I stated, bug me.

So yeah I can see Boomslang being a Sorcerer.

And I totally deserve a vote for flying UTR but thats not been intentional -- hosting your own game concurrently and having mafia cut off at work is problematic (and freakin sad! What would he gain from it? My trust? That won't carry water with anyone else inthe game since everyone and their brother is questioning me and considering voting me. No, that is ridiculous. You've never seen a baddie say he knows such-and-such is civ? Please. Baddies buddy up all the time. Because someone trusts you, doesn't mean you should trust them.

Thoughts on Mongoose... she has 3 vowels in her name. Again, Boddy consequences probably. And again, the only Mafia remaining with 3 vowels is Voldemort. Lot less cut and clear with her voting however. She missed Bass-Dom and voted DH over Snow Dog. Does this make her bad? I don't know, but she is high on my Sorcerer list.

Indeed. N7 no one was killed. D8 Made was lynched and was a Suit. So that means both Voldy and Crowley must be alive and they both must be active. I think.

What are your suspects, Mongoose?
Well, Daisy still (thanks for pulling that quote SVS, I was going nuts looking for it), and not so much Blooper, but with you and DH both feeling so suspish of her, it makes me feel uneasy (for feeling good about her when a few of you definitively do not).

Mr. Boddy has showed signs of being active all game, even up until not long before that, so it makes ZERO sense for both teammates to drop the kill. The only explanation that actually makes sense is an inactive Suit.
If there were only two members left, Mr. Boddy and an inactive player, I'm sure that Made, as Boddy, would have submitted a kill on his own. He'd done all of the other kills anyway. So my guess is that the other member is NOT inactive, but rather that they are trying to make it seem like they are.

And for the record, I may be relatively quiet in-thread, but I am far from an inactive player. I'm still stumped by the night 7 result. That really took me by surprise. It does seem like someone who has been semi-active but a bit intermittently. However, deducing that person isn't easy since so many of us have had to go AWOL for a day here or there (including me!)

Whoa, I didn't flippin' see that coming!

Picking trilby since pillbox hat isn't an option. It would probably not surprise you to know that I have a collection of pillbox hats.

True, but don't failed kills typically show? timmer was shown as the target in the N6 post.
Do y'all remember how SVS brilliantly played dead in Homestar? Could it be possible that the Suits are judiciously withholding a night kill? Failure to send in their target just seems like an awfully big mistake.

Thoughts?
