Ah, we were very sure Viper was an engine because we figured he'd switched the lynch that killed either me or Nev. I don't remember which but we guessed his role from that. We just hoped Rey was a narrow gauge, and as it turns out we were in luck.

I knew it! I said in our chat when you didn't vote Viper that the only reason you tied it up was because you wanted to vote Lizzy. It made me think we'd lost the game for a while, until we realised that we could kill Viper and count on Rey not showing up.

Re: Thomas the Tank Engine [Night 9]

FWIW I wouldn't put too much stock in the Llama gambit as it's easy for a baddie to claim that they're a civvie doing the same thing. I'd probably have voted Llama that day even if I was a civvie based on that reason, as unless there's someone I really need dead I always make actual cases for who I'm voting as a baddie.

You did well, and if we hadn't known you were unkillable we'd definitely have wasted at least one try on you because you were a threat to us. Nev and I had worked to make it so that if one of us was lynched the other would have an airtight alibi so we expected everyone to trust at least one of us regardless.
You and Nev were brilliant. For a moment I thought we were a little civvie team. As I said. I need to follow my original instincts.
Thanks, we worked pretty hard at it. It was Nev's idea so he should get the credit but its been done many times and fooled many a civvie so don't feel too bad about it.

After Nev died, I was convinced you had pulled the same thing for another player too, but based on what I knew of Snow Dog I couldnt figure out how he and Nev could be bad, so I thought it had to be McViper.
I kinda feel like we did try to protect Lizzy and Krissy a bit but that was more diverting attention on to us and away from the quieter players. Our goal, in Epi's words, was to cause Confusion and Delay so it's good to hear that we accomplished that!

I would have to agree. Jumping on to a bandwagon is one thing, but jumping on to one that hasn't really been explained with no actual reason for your own vote? I don't necessarily think DP is a civvie but nor do I think Viper is, especially after that.

I guess this game is over my head, because I can find no logical reason for voting for anyone.
I can understand that, but using someone's avatar as a reason to vote for them? Mine is a quote from Supernatural, but I don't go around hunting ghosts and exorcising demons. At least not while I'm playing mafia anyway. Your reasons for voting in the past couple of lynches have really caught my attention for seeming really stretched and forced.

Re: Thomas the Tank Engine [Day 3]

So last night I decided to look at Snow and Viper because I thought the timing of their votes for me was odd. I noticed a weird thing about Snow.
Snow Dog wrote:Llama's plan was ill timed being in a game with a high level of newbies. But one person who voted for him simply wouldn't accept my point that if Llama was bad he wouldn't act like that. That was Bullzeye. I am voting for him. I am as sure as can be that he is bad.

Votes Bullzeye.
Here he implies that he always knew Llama was acting in a civvie-like manner and his tone suggests he had spent a while arguing against lynching him. This is not the case however:
Snow Dog wrote:
Bullzeye wrote:I don't see any reason to keep waiting, it doesn't look like my opinion is going to change. I'm voting Llama - I think he's acting strangely and I'm not buying the whole 'sacrifice' thing he claims to be doing...
Isn't he acting too strange to be bad?
That was the only post of his that suggests he has any sort of doubt about Llama's intentions being bad, prior to this he sang a different tune:
Snow Dog wrote:
Hedgeowl wrote:

Hedgeowl wrote:I am currently suspicious of those who didn't vote. Especially those like Lizzy and A Person who were waiting so last minute that they missed the vote. First day voting for noobs could be an excuse for some, but doesn't work for everyone. Not sure on Nev currently, but he's not my inclination for the next vote.
I'm terrible at making decisions, so waiting until the last minute is the only way I get things done :(
This could be said about so many of us in this game :D However, Snow Dog I am curious if you will be voting for A Person again and do you have any further thoughts?
I doubt I'll vote him again. I quite fancy a vote for you or Llama if this pig idea keeps going. feels like a baddie move to me.
The previous night, he 'quite fancied' a Llama vote based on how he was acting at the time. So I really don't see where this whole idea that I or anyone else 'simply wouldn't accept' a point of his. He made this point once and with little enthusiasm or elaboration. Another thing caught my eye which could be nothing but bears mentioning regardless in my opinion.
Snow Dog wrote:
Bullzeye wrote:
Hedgeowl wrote:So many questions. Since DH has clearly been biff'd, is DH now free from suspicion or can baddies target one of their own to throw us off?
Baddies do it a lot, I don't see why it'd be any different in this game.
It could very well be different. This is kind of an easier game.
Here he suggests that baddies might not be able to use their own powers on their teammates, rendering anyone who they did use them on guaranteed civvie, based on the idea this is an easier game than most. It was later confirmed that of course baddies can target their own teammates as usual. This struck me as possibly a sort of preemptive defense of a team mate who might be targeted by a baddie power in future. On the other hand it could be nothing. But I'm quite curious about Snow in general.

Re: Thomas the Tank Engine [Day 3]

Since there's an hour left to vote and it doesn't look like anybody else is coming, I'm going to have to vote to save myself I suppose. Fortunately, I do think DP could be bad, having had his team insanify him to cover up after people discussed him earlier. So that's who I'll vote for, but if I survive I'll also be keeping a close eye on Viper and Snow. Neither seems to have a decent reason for their vote for me and it's a little too coincidental that they both just happen to vote at the same time. If I do die today (though I'm hoping not) then I would urge the civvies to look more closely at SD and Viper.

I didn't have anything to post right after the night ended, and then I went out to a play and for some drinks with some friends, I've only just now got home. I can't exactly be posting while I'm busy enjoying my free time and I don't have to ignore my friends and post here instead. Nobody was even asking anything of me, so what detection was I trying to avoid for sooooo long?

Wait I'm sorry how was Llama acting in Video Game Mafia? Trying to draw lots of attention to himself. What was his role? A baddie one. So he would act like that if he was bad. Not everyone has to accept the same things, I had no idea you were the authority on all things Llama. I have no idea where your sudden attack at me has come from but the fact the two of you just happened to vote me in quick succession is certainly very interesting. To be completely honest I still don't buy that Llama had some grand sacrifice planned, I think he made a mistake and tried to make it look intentional when he realised his error.

Well I totally missed that it was whole boxes. Though in retrospect it seems rather obvious that you wouldn't ship 16 individual ballons by train.
A sensible person wouldn't. I might, if I were feeling particularly bored and had a small fleet of trains at my disposal with nothing better to do :p (I imagine the balloons would be inflated and tied to the roof of the train).

It's hard to come to consensus this early, but we can't afford to leave everyone with 1-2 votes again.

I'm favoring DP, on the logic that llama must have some kind of info from that last survey,
but I could see Bullz or maybe McViper - he went oddly silent after that initial flurry of suspicion.
You really think Llama has info? I think that if he did he's a good enough player to find real stuff to back his points up with rather than joking about the letters in someone's username making them bad. I'm considering a vote on Llama myself as I find the whole pig theory weird and didn't think it was actually a serious thing until he based a vote on it.

So, being pretty much new to the game, and reading people's posts, and since apparently the baddies are no strangers to targeting their own and since SVS's identity has not been revealed, is there a possibility that she was one of them? Also, I still don't understand how the voting in the previous poll could tell whether or not we are dealing with baddies. If I were to find anything suspicious related to this, it's not the pig voting folk, but rather how Llama and DH both rushed to vote for goats almost simultaneously. Then there is DH being biffed. That does not mean it's not a coincidence. So, because we're still quite a few, I'm sticking to my 'innocent till proven guilty' approach.

And, as for not voting in the lynch last time, that was just me being an idiot and thinking I still had a couple of hours left. As you might have noticed, the polls closed just as I was about to vote. So I take the blame for this entirely. Won't happen again.
Yes baddies target their own but never with their kill. There is Sir Topham who can redirect targets but aside from interference by him I'd say it's pretty much confirmed that SVS was civvie.

It could very well be different. This is kind of an easier game.
But if they could only target civvies, that outs everyone they target as a civvie and towards the end it'd get really obvious who the baddies were. Would be easier for them to just not target anyone except for the NK if that were the case.

I have an eye on Nev after his response to me, but other than that I'm not too sure. I haven't been the most active player so I may need a reread today to see if there's anything I missed.

I just don't see anything. I've been rereading her posts carefully, and I don't see any sensical reason someone would scrap her. A few nonsensical ones maybe, and one real stretch involving the secret power..

It kind of sounds like you're trying to direct the discourse here.
So tell me, *did* she do something to earn said wrath? -.O

linki Snow: Not really, I think I've expressed my reasons sufficiently. I certainly didn't "ignore" anything, but I'm not at all surprised that you'd cast it that way.
Really? That's a bit of a stretch. I was just trying to start up a conversation that might have lead to some new people to look at or new ways to look at old suspects...

Why SVS though? She didn't point the finger at anyone but Boogs, a known steamer..
All she's been doing is making other players justify their actions, and not even very harshly.
She almost had to have been good right? There's only one baddie team after all... I do agree she seems an odd choice to take out. Could she have done or said something to earn the baddies' wrath?

That's a shame, I've enjoyed playing with you in VGM. It's worth sticking it out IMO, sometimes people just have terrible luck. As to the current poll, I'm going to vote Cows, since I'm about to go out for a burger with some friends. Seems appropriate :p . Hopefully after today I'll be more active, I know I've been really quiet at the moment.

Re: Thomas the Tank Engine [Day 0]

Right I'm gonna have to vote quickly because I'm going out tonight to get... tired :p I don't know if I'll be back before the deadline but even if I am I'll probably be too tired to post so I'm gonna have to random. That said I do agree with what SVS was saying about giving new players a chance to play so I'll random between the people that I know are experienced players.

Re: Thomas the Tank Engine [Day 0]

Good old day one. I'm gonna have a quick read through everything and see if something catches my eye. Has everyone checked in yet? I think so but I'm not completely sure...

Re: Thomas the Tank Engine [Day 0]

Yay, my first game on The Syndicate! :D I think today I'll be going with Blue. It seems to have been a lucky colour for me in recent mafia games, I'm hoping that continues.
