I'm quite surprised that nobody accidentally posted in this thread something that was supposed to go in the btsc thread. Or perhaps they did and it was something so unremarkable nobody noticed.

He was the same way in our chat. I think he might be getting a bad rap here, it's certainly not his fault I'm disappointed with how the game went. I just wanted to win and thought I was going to and am therefore sad I didn't - but it's not the end of the world. If he wasn't on your team and someone else was you'd still have won because it was really MM who won it for you in the end by rezzing you and enabling your team to switch the lynch and gain the advantage.

I feel mostly the same. Realising Aap didn't actually betray us that much kinda helped, but I genuinely thought my team had a really really strong chance to win, only to realise at the last second that Nubzargan were able to steal the win. I never win, so the possibility of getting this one meant a lot to me and I'm really disappointed but I don't hold anything against Team Nubz. I don't think the game was that unbalanced though tbf. Like you I really enjoyed the game and am very glad I played. I think it's one of my favourites of all time as well as some of my best - and worst when I couldn't keep up - overall performance.

We had your alignment pegged down, but not your role, so we never had a reason to question it I don't think.

I didn't mean me personally, I mean nobody ever asked about the Lord of Thunder once the Wielder of Lightning was dead. So nobody knew about my funky new powers and hopefully assumed that the role had basically become vanilla.

Which competition was that, with Wilgy or with Roxy?

She was competing with Roxy, the competition was to get a player of choice lynched iirc, and Canuck chose Wilgy since Team Ubz had so kindly dug a grave for him already.

FWIW I don't understand why he bothered trying to kill you again, and I assumed you'd be back again at some point. On night 3 I hadn't received new powers but during day 4 BR gave me a new set of parameters, which were basically mine and Golden's put together, only the fifth option changed to heal or hurt a player. Never found out what that did, I don't think anyone ever showed signs of being "hurt".

Also I added +3 votes to Devin in the final lynch of the game, but Llama's vote force was a night action so nobody's vote was actually being controlled and I think literally everybody knew that at the time.

I don't think this was answered yet: Who killed Typh? It was not me. The chaos dancer switched around a bunch of powers that night and someone else used my kill on him. I ended up with the keeper of the ravens' ability and wrote the "CHAOS" post. I didn't want to put a target on anyone that early, so my only goals with that post were to have fun, and to cause confusion and pointless discussion for a short time

Fun fact: I tried to kill MM on the same night he recruited me I successfully pegged him as a Warrior, so he would have died if he wasn't immune.

Fun fact: I already explained Typh's death :P The night your power got switched with the Raven Keeper, Llama got your power. He targeted Typh just randomly as far as I know.

You did switch SVS' position but she chose not to use her power.

I'm curious to see a list of epic challenges and which ones were completed!

Mine was that if Golden and I picked the same option for position five twice then we'd gain BTSC and I think would win together. It was ruined by the end of day three, but I didn't mind too much since I got total control over my powers. Even if I did never get to use an alignment check while it mattered.

Did you try for Azura? In our two contests we picked Canuck because she used a funny/entertaining song and Aapje because he sent us a small essay on why we should pick him while the only other person sent in one sentence.

Another weird thing: For LA's recruitment, we'd been asked to pick five players and three roles, and to say whether we'd prefer to have our pick randomized from the roles or the players. These were my suggestions (which we ended up going with):

Roles:
War Monger
Druidic Elder
Deathmask Shaman

Players:
SVS
JJJ
Nutella
Rey
Tranq

Not only did we get both a role and a player we'd asked for (we randomized from players), but I managed to name Ubzargan, one of her recruits by both name and role, the soon-to-be-SK, and a civ recruit. It's possible that our selection came down to a coin flip between LA and Rey, quite an influential decision.

Are the btsc threads going to become public, as it was suggested they might? Would be interesting to read everybody else's schemes, I'm always intrigued about that sort of thing.

I didn't expect to be recruited at all, and turned out to be Llama's number 1 pick!

Roxy, your tactic almost fell at the first hurdle because you were in Llama's 3 choices for his first recruit. Good shout though, I thought for sure you were on Team Caelia.

That was the night Llama's power was swapped, and he ended up with Devin's. He targeted Typh I think just randomly. Incidentally, we also didn't try to kill Epi that night. Our kill target was Bass, who must have redirected it to him.

I'm glad you didn't know because that means he didn't sell us out at least! He was in our chat, no idea about any of the others but presumably he was in yours as well.

In a btsc forum chat, on the 29th of August, Llama was unnerved by aapje suggesting we should have 4 recruits when we only had 3, and I suggested perhaps it was because aapje was on the other team and they did have 4 so he assumed we would too.

I mean, yeah, I called all of this a full month in advance. Psychic.

I enjoyed trying to win as my role but I had a lot of bad luck with my Guardians. JJJ and LoRab both died as soon as I found them, and nutella wasn't interested in helping the Guardians win :P I felt like a complete non-factor most of the time I had a ton of fun though as I always do in BR/LC games. But Recruitment Mafia games always have a way of breaking my heart.

To be fair, nutella did want us to win with you and did ask us to rezz one of yours. She also defended you a few times in our btsc. We just didn't have any reason to trust you and were only keeping you around because we didn't need you dead. You kept coming after me and Llama so we weren't really keen on helping you, and didn't want to use our team's rezz on someone who wasn't aligned with us in case you just used us out for your own ends and then sold us out.

It's interesting, I was surprised we recruited aapje because I was sure he was on Team Uzb. Should've pushed his lynch when I had the chance, I genuinely believed we were gonna win this and am kinda gutted we didn't! Well done winners though, I did say I wanted the other baddies to win if we couldn't.

Actually Llama, I suppose it'd be fair to say Azura has complete and total control over not only your vote but also your actions?

I highly doubt six people are having their votes controlled. Obviously Llama isn't, clearly he has at least two teammates helping him here.

Okay I think I just had a brainfart moment at that. Regardless, if Llama can force votes today then he probably won't be dying but I suppose there's not much we can actually do about that.

It should be quite obvious why I'm mad. They didn't have to vote for you to make me happy, though. Just anywhere but llama. They guaranteed a lynch switch instead of giving us a 50/50 shot.

They didn't know they'd guaranteed it at the time unless they're all on Team Azura. We know he's almost definitely Azura now and we can hopefully lynch him tomorrow. People don't have to agree with your opinions on who to vote for anyway. Or are you saying you're obviously a civ and inherently trustworthy?

FWIW I would've voted someone else but the only alternative anyone was interested in bandwagoning was me, and just isn't something I can condone.

He still is. But his last lynch attempt was switched to tranq (another potential baddie). 2 possibilities there: 1. Could have been Ubzargan. 2. llama is Azura.
I was willing to take a gamble on rey, but I'm not willing to take a gamble on Azura.

As I recall, you didn't end up taking that gamble on Rey anyway. Either Ubz switched the lynch, Llama could be Azura, OR something else happened. We don't know how many manipulations are out there at any point. Regardless, if Llama is Azura, he may not be putting votes onto me. So I'm willing to take that risk because the alternative is my own death and my team losing the game. I doubt there are many civs left at all tbh.

I think you're misinterpreting events now. I most definitely did take the gamble on rey because I didn't vote to lynch him. He's still alive isn't he?

Nobody is arguing that Llama isn't bad.

My conversation with Rey during the lynch is being portrayed as if I was trying to pressure people into voting for him or arguing that LA was civ in order to prevent her lynch. This was not the case and anyone who took 5 minutes to look at the discussion could easily see that I was simply defending my own position and explaining why I found him worthy of a vote. If he hadn't been speaking to me, I'd have said nothing on the topic at all. I was not in any way trying to prevent nutella's lynch. People are acting as if I were her strongest supporter when I even said I didn't care if she got lynched and made no effort whatsoever to prevent her death.
