It will be 5 years, but get so complicated that LC has to remove half of his characters and plotlines and we won't see them again for a further 6 years in A Dance of Worlds. After that he'll promise another but never ever deliver.Matt wrote:Long Con wrote:Mafia: A World Asunder is already under construction.sig wrote:Oh and LC will you be making a third edition of World Reborn?

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 16
Most people I met died shortly after I met them, so maybe you were better off for not having done so. I was pretty sure baddies were stalking me toward the end, Mac and HB died really soon after I'd been speaking to them. On that note, I wonder if anyone ever noticed there being two of me on the map. Yin and Yang were only a couple of squares away from each other when I died the first time.fingersplints wrote:I was! I knew my role would become obvious eventually. Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 16
I may or may not have been cheering Matt on during his final days. I'd kinda figured Dom was potentially bad since Golden, Sig and Epi had been talking about him and their plans when they summoned me early on and then Golden claimed Timmer had killed Epi etc. etc. I just didn't go against him because there was a chance he was Cabal and I wanted the Circle dead first. I'd have stuck by Matt though and we'd have died together for that most probably. Quite convenient for the Circle that they'd managed to remove Matt's support before he even got started. They really did earn this win, as much as I'll not forget them screwing me, they did deserve it for their hard work.MacDougall wrote: Yes Matt, Bullzeye and I both knew you were a civ. Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 16
That would've been awesome but you wanted to go back to where I'd already been, IIRC, and I wanted to keep exploring to find new things and help in my own personal quests. You were actually the only person I was ever completely honest with about my role. I never told anyone else about how I could've become a baddie. I did love how you were all "you'll never believe me but I'm actually a secret role that isn't listed" when I had known since the game began that there must be at least one unlisted role in the game. I decided you were telling the truth and that you must be trustworthy. I dunno if it was obvious but the info you sent me on Matt said he was a civ, I was never sure how to communicate that to you since we only had a code for baddie.MacDougall wrote:I wish we could have just made a little rag tag duo and roamed around together. I was quite upset when I died (both times!) but I'll live! This was still a great game and I tried to make the most of my unfortunate situation. The night I died for good I'd decided to try to find a way to rezz Yang and had been going around for a while hoping to find something to help me get revenge against the Circle. I feel like if an item like the one you're suggesting existed, then it would be listed by it's fake name, with the real one either not mentioned at all or mentioned separately to maintain the illusion. Otherwise you might have the fake item and see it's not on the list, therefore suspecting something is up.timmer wrote:Because it was a false name, Matt. But still, why Bass? Why not you? Or... I dunno, Golden? TH? Someone noticeable with a significant presence in the thread? I just don't see how you've jumped to this idea that Bass is being messed with somehow and not just uninvolved.Matt wrote:Bullz, I think a Mafia would do whatever they have to do to win. If that means messing with Bass' voting and putting attention on him, whether or not he's a high poster, then yes I think it's possible.
Bullz - What do you think of Timmer? Considering I don't necessarily trust MM or Drac, I'm having a hard time putting my vote where they have their votes, but I wonder if he's being truthful about this "Figurine".[/quote]
Honestly I think the whole story is all too convenient. I could happily believe it's a pile of old balls, but then I don't see why Timmer would go to such lengths to make the story up when it would be easier to just say he'd never been anywhere near Epi and never had any item at all. I've considered voting him a couple of times because I go back and forth on whether I think he's being honest or stringing everyone along.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 10
Yeah but Bass has been pretty much a non-entity all game. I was going to say how often do baddies use up abilities on people who are barely participating, but really how often does ANYONE do that?Matt wrote:Who cares who they pick as long as they get someone not on their team lynched?
Yeah ages and ages ago and I became more suspicious of Floyd later when he claimed he didn't know what an NK was. I only thought Luke was okay because I thought he'd have been better coached. I was wrong.Matt wrote:Also, I know we already went over on how you would never allow your team to NK you when you have a protect, but I also noticed, along with Luke and Juliets, you gave Floyd the A-okay when you ISO'd everyone.
Bass can be super detached from games. It's not too surprising.Matt wrote:Anyway, just trying to look at every angle. Are you convinced that Bass is the type of player who would miss three lynch phases while voting during the night phases, and not once even apologize to the hosts for missing? I think it's fishy.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Rules
I'm not arguing anything about the Entity's alignment. What I'm saying is why would Bass, who has barely participated at all, be the civ someone uses a power for several phases to get lynched? Like, if you can pick from all of the people playing this game, why go for the one guy who is playing the absolute least?Matt wrote:Well, if the Possessing Entity is bad, which to me looks like they are, and if Bass is civ, then ummmmm the answer would be to get a civ lynched? What an odd question.Bullzeye wrote:You're making a lot of assumptions. Why would someone who could possess players even bother with Bass when he's not around? Besides which, the fact he's been quiet isn't really one of the reasons he looks suspicious.Matt F wrote:If Bass is bad, what does he gain from missing three consecutive lynches? He would have to know that would bring him major heat. Even if he is civ. Something is fishy here.
Sorsha, you seem to have been keeping close tabs on Bass with several posts updating us on when he missed two votes, and then three. Are you aware of the Possessing Entity role? It's power is secret, but I'm guessing it possesses other players in some way. Do you think it's possible that Bass has simply been possessed and was forced to miss votes? The only problem I'd have with this is typically you cannot double target, however, it's not out of the realm of possibility that a player can't be possessed for several day phases in a row before being released. ASSUMING that's how the PE's power works in the first place.
I don't know, I just think it's weird how Bass hasn't even made any public apologies to the hosts for missing votes, just says he's been "super busy".

I don't think civs can have malicious intentions in general. Specifically, as I believe the note was placed by a member of the team that tried to kill me, then logically a civ cannot have been responsible for it. LC seems to have indicated that the Pixie is a civ. As for G9 I'm not sure of why you think she's responsible for that. Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 9
So I decided to look over the posts of the three confirmed baddies to hopefully turn up something that might help us find their teammate.
Worth noting that Floyd voted Prog. Perhaps he was the baddie with info. His first on topic post was to demand an explanation for Banana's vote on Bugla (later replaced by Draconus). Later voted for Bugla himself for sketchy reasons so... Would certainly be weird for all three irl friends to all be randomly sorted into the same team. Paid respects to Luke and voted for JC but other than scattered individual mentions of a few people, Bugla is the only other player Floyd said much about so I don't think there's much to be gained from reading his posts.
Listed two people as good: Floyd and Sorsha. Didn't have an explanation for either read. Not much else to see, I think it's equally possible that he listed two of his own teammates as it is for him to have mentioned Sorsha as well as Floyd in order to make her look bad should Luke be lynched.
Something interesting I did notice is that two of three confirmed baddies followed the Sig case on day 2. Floyd seemingly missed the vote entirely. Perhaps it could be worth revisiting Sig voters, perhaps they all jumped on board as it was an easy target. We know that at least three of the voters that day were not civ-friendly folks (with nutella the dangerous bad indy also getting in on it).
Early on JC also spent some time trying to draw Floyd into conversation - probably trying to be a helpful teammate, knowing her. JC also said she had no suspicion of Sorsha, so that makes two baddies saying that. Worth keeping in mind? She also named Bass as a neutral read.
Overall this stopped being useful pretty quickly I think, but I decided to see it through. The only thing I've really noticed is the Sorsha point, but it could be completely meaningless. I'm also going to revisit a couple of old suspicions that have fallen away in more recent days. The suspicion list I posted early on now only has two or three living people left from it, so that shouldn't take long.

Can confirm. No library. Not even so much as a picture book. Just murder.Metalmarsh89 wrote:There's no library? Well I'm glad I didn't visit it now.Bullzeye wrote:Following host clarification (Thanks LC! ) I can tell you all that I found a note saying there was a library full of juicy info at a certain square. Knowing the risks of blindly trusting an unknown person, I blindly trusted an unknown person and went to that square. That square did not in fact contain a library full of juicy info. It did not contain anything. It almost, however, contained my corpse as it's where I was when I got targeted for a kill. Since the Pixie is responsible for dropping notes about the place, I assumed that's who it was from and that it was all part of an evil baddie trap. I still think the note was from baddies, I just think they either used the Pixie's power somehow or did something else.Bullzeye wrote:Not sure how much I'd be allowed to say but the gist is I followed something I assumed came from her and it led me to almost die. On that note, don't trust any notes you find promising info at a particular square. I'm not allowed to say specifically which one it was, and even if I did it wouldn't help because whoever left that note could just change the location they use.

Intend to when night is over. Also want to look over JC, Luke, and Floyd's posts to see if there are any clues to their final buddy.MacDougall wrote:Would very much appreciate this.Bullzeye wrote:I wouldn't mind a Floyd lynch, and may vote that way myself. Also voted Floyd. I think he's likely bad and he seems to want out anyway. Now I am actually leaving so forget what I said about staying up all night because that was apparently a lie.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 8
Regardless of how stupid or not stupid it is, the simple fact remains that I would not allow my team to do that. I would be super peeved if they went behind my back and took away my protection like that, and would not agree to do it because I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it because my teammates thought it would be best to sacrifice it. I just wouldn't want it to happen.Matt F wrote:Well, as we are seeing displayed right now, nobody wants to lynch you because you are so obvi not on Juliets team. On top of that, by being protected during a NK, the other Mafia team may not want to waste one on you assuming you won't die. It actually sounds rather smart to me, tbh.Bullzeye wrote:You obviously don't get cleared, because Ol' Tunnely Matt will decide to suspect you because he wants to think you're always bad. It's stupid because you (1) don't kill anyone, thereby sacrificing the ability to rid yourself of someone who may be a threat, and (2) basically say "I don't want to survive the next attempt on my life. I have this survival that could save me at a crucial point but I'm just going to throw it out because I'm a rebel".Matt F wrote: Linki - I have been convinced Bullz is no longer Juliets teammate, however, I don't think it would be stupid. You get cleared of being on a certain team if you go with that strategy. If you get cleared of a certain team, a lot less likely you will be lynched. How would that be stupid?
But whatevs.
